Hey I'm the guy who asked for advice on the Condor terrasaur and boots big fan keep up the cool vids
I see you guys got my email or comment LOL thanks!!
@@toolman334 CONDOR TERRASAUR IS A FANTASTIC KNIFE, ECONOMICAL, LIGHT, AFFORDABLE, I THINK 1095 CARBON STEEL, 3MM THICKNESS OF THE BLADE, EASY TO SHARPEN, FULL TANG AND VERY COMFORTABLE HANDLE. THE ONLY PROBLEM FOR ME, IS THAT, IT IS A BIT DIFFICULT TO TAKE IT OUT FROM THE SHEATH. ALSO, CHECK FOR COLD STEEL FINN HAWK.
Please boys, tell me where it is I can buy an A1X for $62 lol-ol-ol bit of a typo there as the civivi was $62 but if I found fallkniven A1X for that price I would buy them all 😝🤣🤷♂️
Well you could have atleast tried out thee other two joker knives to see if maybe they were any better so that we would know what one to buy 🤷♂️😉
Here in Bulgaria we have such salad dish - roasted red peppers with garlic, oil and little bit of vinegar.
Usually goes very well with some grilled meat.
Cheers, folks.
The Joker Nomad is an amazing knife for bushcraft and survival.
I was incredibly excited to start 2022 with a move into the high carbon steel production industry.
Ok, it's not making knives, it's making mattress bedsprings, but everyone has to start somewhere.
Moving into aluminium industry from retail here! It's pretty exciting!
Everybody has to go to sleep sometime
@@queefersutherland8495 I don't

Some of the best quality and fit and finish for this price point. Great knives and great customer service.
Agreed!
I too agree. With a quick stropping my Canadiense and Nessmuk with 14C28N steel performed just great for me. .
I guess what happens with the grind is that ancient Spanish bushcraft knives were made out of kitchen/butcher knives (as in many other countries).
That angle may work really well for skinning and meat cutting imo
Also take into account that Spanish woods are hard af. Olive, Holm oak, elm...not much spruce. In my experience those angles work better but that's just my experience...
Alot of people dont realize Spanish Toledo steel was up there with Sheffield Solingen and Japan steel
I have the Joker Canadiense. I love it. Use it constantly for absolutely everything
@Forest brothers I’m sorry, what?
Joker and Cudeman is a great Spanish company, with nice customer service, price and quality with amazing leather sheaths. But don't use premium steels, and 70% are with concave grind what I hate it. Nice video. Congratulations from Spain
I AGREE WITH THESE, TWO SPANISH COMPANIES, EXCELLENT JOB. BRAVO TO THE SPANISH.
Joker, Cudeman and Nieto
@@DinoDIY I agree 👍
Bom dia,
Tenho uma Joker Avispas que uso diariamente, o aço que vem é Sandvik 14c28n. Aço sueco.
Abraços de Portugal
I HAVE BOUGHT, JOKER NOMAD, LYNX, EMBER, NORDICO, NESSMUK AND PANTERA, AND ALSO, CUDEMAN BUSHCRAFTER BS9. THE BUSHCRAFT KNIVES FROM JV CDA LOOK NICE, AS WELL.
Spain is dominating the budget high quality bushcraft blade game
I've noticed a few Spanish knives looking good lately too.
Yep, Cudeman for example is great as well
@@heibk-2019 Agreed , Cudeman is badass
I don't know man, the Fins and the Russians are not too bad eitheir !
@@jean-baptistedemets3477 the only problem with Russian knives is that they seem to use random steels - the workmanship looks good so the smiths have talent.....but jeez the steels appear very homegrown.
Good video as always! Its really nice when you call attention to brands you haven't talked about before.
However, if you were going to use the Morakniv Garberg as a base of comparison you should probably have used the knife model that was most similar. That way you could have really have made a much better comparison between brands... Since you had a knife in the same steel and with the same grind as the Garberg (the Joker Nessmuk), you could have used that instead so the consumer would know which brand to buy in case of indecision.
I'm not trying to be a party pooper gentleman, its just a recomendation if I may...
Great video! Best regards.
I absolutely agree on that statement!
G'day Jack, yep the comparison was quite irrelevant, I just ignored that bit, lol. Cheers Duke.
Not just that. Joker actually makes a number of knives with scandi grind including a range of Puukkoos. They also make the blades for Casström.
I own quite some Joker knives (Ember flat & scandi, Lynx, Campero F, Trampero F, Canadiense, Montanero F & Nordico). And there are more to follow soon.
The Ember scandi and Nordico are real good wood knives and even though they are quite thick, they perform very well.
I believe you. I have a Trampero with a flat grind and I never thought it could be so good.
Have a good day!
I have a joker erizo, made of Bohler n695 steel and i used it for everything, when sharpening it perfectly retains the edge, the brand really makes very good knives.
Joker knives are great knives for the value. One does not always need to have premium steels on a knife. Also the feathersticking works great with these knives. I cannot confirm the problems you had to make good feathersticks. This depends on the wood you use and the pressure one uses while doing so. My Joker Nomad creates wonderful feathersticks that light imidiatly with a firesteel.
4 seconds in the video and Mikkie does not disappoint in being a real gentleman.
I saw the potential of Joker knives early and bought some models (20+) with the BS-9 stamp and designed by J. Sabater. Grupo BS-9 are 9 experience bushcraft and survival instructors and J. Sabater a great designer. The Albacete region where they are made is home to many Spanish knife manufacturers and has a very long knife making tradition. TBS knives and Casström both have models made by the Joker factory. The steel on them is all the same and the Joker knives have very comfortable handles, very good quality sheaths and perfect fit and finish for a great price. The price is going up now and that's what I expected since they become more popular and the quality of these knives permit the price going up considering the competition. They early bird catches the worm ;) Happy New Year.
The use a few different steels ,420 stainless, mova 58, n690, k720, sandvick, and more... they have quite a range
@@shawnpepin7890 Yes. They have been making knives for a long time. They use 420 and MoVa in their other knives or the very early BS-9 knives. They still do in their other knives but changed from MoVA to other steels in their BS-9 line of knives. That's what they are testing. So 9 actual bushcraft and survival instructors (Grupo-9) joined forces to make some good knives. But you trust the opinion of two boys who never leave their backyard? It's your choice.
@@stevanoutdoor I don’t trust anyone’s opinion really, I take information from as many sources as possible , analyze it, and make my own judgment... sometimes I’ll disregard it all and just try things out myself if my finances allow it... I don’t really get your attack on Dbk as their “back yard” is a freaking forest , but whatever makes you feel better about yourself I guess
@@shawnpepin7890 "I don't really get your attack on dbk"
This bosexperience guy literally admitted to buying over 20 of these knives, then saw this video where they said " if I got the choice I would pick a garberg or jaakaripuukko instead" it's pretty clear why he's going on a crusade against them now lmao.
@@shawnpepin7890 It's still their backyard. The neighbors backyard is the same. Next neighbor the same, etc. The Netherlands has very limited resources to test a knife. You can't test a knife for it's potential in just The Netherlands. That means you also can't design a knife for the outdoors if you never leave your backyard. There's absolutely nothing new on the DBK knife other than the stamp. It's a TRC knife with a stamp of DBK. A complete scam if you ask me. But if you want it sure buy it. You wasted money. That's all.
I am blowing the horns about Joker pocket and fixed blade knives for a year and finally, somebody has listened.
The Olive wood handle on the Buschcraft is beautiful. I just purchased the exact knife (waiting for it to arrive). Those Spanish folk make some brilliantly crafted knives for very fair prices. I have a Cudeman 299-X with a 7.1 inch N695 blade with a brown micarta handle and it's a beauty and a beast. The leather sheath was also of outstanding quality, nearly as good as a $200 custom leather sheath I have for another knife, and that Cudeman was under $200 total for the blade and sheath. I have a large knife collection of all different prices and it's one of my favorites.
That is a first! Glad to watch you reviewing a Spanish knife. Happy new year, keep doing your awesome vids!
G'day M & M, I've had a Nomad a while now, fantastic value IMO. Wouldn't be my first choice as a survival knife @ 5 inches, but as an all round camp knife it does the business extremely well, no probs with feathers or anything else and exceptional ergos too IMO. Cheers Duke.
P.S. I've batoned it through 3 inch Aussie Redgum, (bloody hard stuff), with no deforming of edge or spine and the resin cleaned off perfectly and left barely a scratch underneath, .... you'd think it hadn't been used.
So ....the N695 might be considered, say mid range, but its performed like a champ with what I've put it through.
P.P.S. one of the other commenters did remind me that 695 is similar in composition to 440C, which is well and good, but there is 440C, and 440C, in my experience, a bit like a stain.. less D2, lol. Still, Redgum tends to sort the men from the boys, lol. and I'll stand by my findings.
Best intro/ad ever!!! I saw it a while back & nearly died laughing. I tried to find it for a week back then, but without any luck. I happened to be listening while doing some housework when the next video auto-played & I heard it! I ran to my phone & I must’ve watched 20+ times! I was laughing so hard that I had tears streaming down my cheeks!
Hilarious!!!
A Joker, a smoker and a midnight toker. 🔪
Ahhh yes, Steve Miller Band, must whack that on my phone. Cheers Duke.
You last bought a joker. Thanks for showing our knives. Greetings from 🇪🇦
Going with the budget theme you guys should check out the Ruike Jager F118. Same steel and price as the Garberg, but some ppl might prefer the looks. It also feathersticks pretty well if you put a secondary convex on it.
I have that knife and I love it!
To cook the paprika on the fire try not to cut it, the inside will make like an oven and wont let it dry!!! Also, its done when its all soft, and take out the burned skin
Hello guys! so this "roasted red pepper" thing is quite common where i'm from! you just "stab" the pepper a bit and put it right into the flames until it's completely black on the outside, and then wrap it with newspapers or a plastic bag and let it cool down. It peels of really easy and the inside is tender and has a nice smoky flavour! we call it "escalivada". Also, you should check the catalan brand "pallares solsona" they really know how to work the good old carbon steel!
Nice review! If you want a knife closer to the Garberg also check out the Joker Nordico or Ember in scandi grind
Well, that mora garberg has been sharpened and reprofiled to remove the secondary v-edge from factory, it's not a fair comparison, I think you should compare both sharpened or both from factory.
I was waiting for a good Nomad review however I don’t think the Nomad got a fair shot here. Maybe you should have put it up against something like a Benchmade Leuku or something with the same edge. I paid less for a BOB’s Fieldcraft than what the Nomad cost. While the BOB and Nomad are different edges I feel your test should have been apples to apples. IMO the Nomad comes away looking like the inferior knife when it may not be the case.
I bought the Joker Nessmuk with the high grind for Christmas and it's a great camp kitchen knife 🔪 👌 😎
I have rather cheap Joker Arrui (cca 40eur). I love that knife, actually, it does exactly what I need it to do :) Thank you for the review guys.
A missed opportunity for this video: Mickey in Joker make-up!
Man you guys make my job so easy, another brand I carry at the store😂😂😂
Very nice reviews. I love the Dragon Ball’s soundtrack. I also recommend the Spanish Muela’s and Aitor’s knives. Happy New Year!
I have several of their fixed blades and a nice slipjoint folder and they're all awesome knives for the money. If you like flat grinds there's a good selection of those. Since I'm all set with the ones I want you can all go nuts, no worries. : )
Hello 👋 Gentlemen, thank you for sharing another fine video. Greetings from Northern California. I really like the Joker knife 🔪. It's a great looking knife.
Be safe and keep those great videos coming along. 🤗
jake you legend your face is finally in a dbk video bro❤💪
Love the videos! You guys should test the British Army MoD Survival knife. I’d love to see a destruction video on that!
Bushcraft ember with scandi would have been AWESOME comparison !
Been eyeballing the Joker line. Looks to be a pretty solid knife.
You guys definitely got me into the hobby. Just bought my first Fallkniven knife (Model GPGM) and just got it in the mail today can’t wait to use it! Love the content and enjoy all your videos! Keep it up guys!
I have the Joker Ember with a scandi grind and I love it for the money.
You guys should do a fans list of they're out door survival knife systems and rate them for practical functionality
I love the paul Adam's flute
You should do an in depth review of the ember. I have an ember scandi and a gunny 3v. Both good knives but the ember hands down is better at splitting wood and feather sticking. Can’t see much difference in edge retention but the ember gets back to razor more easily.
Morakniv should do a garberg dbk version
Finally a Joker review!
Happy new year! great review.... I'm still curious on the result of the experiment. which one tastes better?
It would be great to see a review of the Joker Arrui line. They are about 35 dollars US.
Hey DBK guys... Happy New Year!!! These 3 Joker knives appear 'overall' to trace good linage in design. My observations (based on your video here) would relate that at least 2 of the three are akin to hunting knives. Especially the larger looking model w/ black/gray micarta. Can't say on the bushcraft as a 'crafter'... however, that larger knife model seems like a reasonable bet for big game hunting knife. In some ways... reminds me of a REAL-STEEL bushcraft knife I use (have had for some time now and like) in 14C28N with a well-done convex. It has performed very well, is reliable, and has excellent ergos. I remember you guys were only so-so on the Joker 'Muk-like' knife. In my opinion, the 'muk' has too shallow a grind on too thick a stock for that design. I run with the Garberg Stainless most of the time. That said... The Real-Steel Bushcraft Plus with convex gets the win if/when processing game or food-prep handiwork. Real Steel Bushcraft Plus Convex 3720 is the model I have that reminds me of the knives in this video.
I agree with your thought that the bushcrafter looks like a hunting knife. I have one in the mail after seeing this review for a low cost tool.
jake is such a legend🤣
I been waiting for this..I got a nomad while waiting on the dbk knife..and it's a beast
Hahaha! when Mikkie say "ladies and gentlemen", I hear" Lazy gentlemen!!!"...But I'm a french bastard...LOL!
Here's a thought. I'm willing to bet that fire would stay lit if you didn't smother it to death when it's just a little flame
They make a quality affordable knife.
The first 6 seconds of this video is comedy gold!
I have the Joker Nomad, it’s realy great knife. I will like to see a destruction test of it. Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱.
Hello and happy new year 2022 to you. I wanted to thank you DBK for changing your mind about Joker brand knives and making a video to present them. They are of good quality and at a great price. Bye DBK 👍🏻😊
Yay! Joker is my favorite mass produced brand from Spain!
Steak would compliment those red peppers .
Agree.
Nice budget knife. I am hooked on LT Wright. I bought my first a few years ago and never looked back
I have both a Joker Nomad and Ember. They are excellent knives and I plan to pick up another Joker knife in the not so distant future. Anyway, thanks for yet another entertaining video guys. Cheers!
I would like to see some zlatoust knife test and rewiev...
I have their campero in bohler k720 @ 64 hrc. It’s very nice steel
I know that feel when even wood that feels dry is actually wet due to humidity... One does not simply light a fire in the Netherlands.
I got this Nomad beauty today and I thought would be too big but nop, I'm keeping it.
Hi guys, happy new year😊, thanks for the video, and I'm pleased at the result of the testing, and not too much Joking around, ha, ha, I realy like the look ,and value of these knives, but I think I will try a Garberg ,in s/s , first. Best wishes for a healthy and successful 2022, kind regards Stuart Uk.
The Nomad is a LARGER knife. It is more of a survival knife. The Garberg is a SMALLER knife. It is more of a bushcraft knife. The N695 is obviously a better steel than the 14C28N.
Was wondering when you'll take a look at these. They're great if you wanna stay within made in EU but don't want Mora.
Also 110€ for N690 is a great deal
It is N695 steel, not so good as N690 cobalt
@@demontazor G'day Jack, yep correct, I have the Nomad, (it's definitely 695), and a Steel Will Darkangel 900 in N690Co, totally different knives, ...so it's difficult to say which is the "better" performing of the two. I will say with confidence that both certainly out perform their respective reputations. Cheers Duke.
@@eyeofthetiger4184 G'day Duke, I have the Darkangel aswell and some Extrema Ratio knives all in N690 and like the steel, but I don't know N695 so I didn't buy the Nomad.
Now I will take a second look, thanks Mate!
German guy from a history documentary 🤣🤣🤣 Love your videos, keep up the good work, guys
You guys need to decide if you're going to be a knife review cannel, a comedy skit team, or a cooking channel.
The point of burning the skin of the bellpepers is to easily peal it. Next time you make this dish, take the skin off. You'll thank me for sure !
Question what do you guys think of the buck 119 special, and happy new year 🎉
G'day Mark, I would normally pay the extra for S35, but went for the 420HC with this model, partly to have a more original version, and partly for ease of sharpening in the field. Either way great knife, classic design and will do so many different tasks well. Absolutely fantastic ergos IMO !!!!!. Great sheath too, though I did whack on a dangler loop since it rides a bit high without it I reckon.
Do you have one, if so what do you think ?
Cheers Duke
@@eyeofthetiger4184 thanks for your input, yes I do own one had it for 19 years now and love it ,I ues it for most things great for food preparation, I wold love to see what the guys thought of this knife 🔪, happy new year to you 😊
@@marklawrence855 Cool mate, that is a trooper alright. Yes would be interesting to see what M & M think of it. Dont think they've shown one before.
All the best to you too.
Garberg is $54 on Amazon, and best price for Nomad is $105 at Chicago Knife Works.
8:43, 9:40, 11:19, 11:45, also some knife shots at the end are beautiful. I love these shots, especially at 0:03 🤣🤣wouldn't miss it for the world. NOT to forget the BGM is splendid. Oh and u guys got the text wrong at 14:01.
Do test with some nieto knives.. o even cudeman... like cudeman entresierras or cudeman boina verde or other... great vidz and happy new 2022
Awesome, you hardly mentioned the Nessmuk. That means more people will come and see my review🤣🤣. Bet your doing the Nessmuk next week or something 😪.
@@LubberKing thank you very much mate.
Are there any plans in the near future for another run of the DBK knife? Happy New Year!
More Joker videos!
I have the condor nessmuk, use it every day for food prep
My birthday is on January 28. I really hope my dbk knife will arrive on that day 🙏🏻. Love you guys!❤️
Hello there Guys, nice video, I have my self those knives, but I don’t think there’s a point making a comparison between knives that have different types of grind. In my experience with the nomad Joker never had an issue on none of the tasks that you guys were showing.
I have Joker Trampero, great knife!
You can get the Joker with a Scandi, also.
That intro 🤣
i always noticed you choke your fires, make the small sticks burn hard before adding bigger.
The best video from DBK was the how to "make" firesteel.
Step one: "buy" firesteel from store
Step two: make wood handle
😁
Please do a Video about the “Klötzli Bushcraft” knife!
It’s made in Switzerland and has a swiss army knife in the handle. I wonder what you guys think about it🙏
He he…👍🏼
Half the prices on amazon. Great knives. My favorite is the Joker Ember.
Are you going to review the purple Joker “Why so Serious” knife? (Yes, that’s an actual Joker knife, for sale on Amazon.)
ALSO, JOKER MONTANERO AND PUUKO ARE FANTASTIC, TOO.
Great video guys! Any plans to review MagnaCut in 2022?
they did a magnacut vid
@@Lurifaks707 oh snap! I’m an idiot. How did I miss that?!? Thanks!
You remind me of a German guy I saw on the history channel documentary.... OOOOOF You just went for it with that one... LOL Cool knife and great video as always keepem coming guys!!!
Thank you gentlemen for making the Batman joke lol
hey DBK i have some questions, how good is N695, ive heard that it is similar to 440c and that kinda scared me off a bit. I also want a bigger knife, i was thinking of the boker abolito el gigante, also in N695 id also think this would be a fun knife to try because it is similar to knives like the fällkniven modern Bowie or trailmaster from cold steel and is a compelling alternative to those knive in terms of price to preformance IF the el gigante performs like this.
Yall have incredible timing, I litchrally just saw this brand on Amazon today and I was like hm I wonder if those have cheap steel
Love to see you review jokers, they are great knives indeed
Regarding the brand name
“You ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?”
What not use the bushcrafter for bushcraft??
I have a few Navaja from them...all working very well.
I own the Joker Ember. What a nice knife for the price
