@@ssunfish they are brilliant, came very sharp, I just needed to stropped them to be totally like a razor. They keep the edge crazy long. I have made them a bit scandi-vex (like secondary convex at the bottom of the scandi grind. They are very hard to sharpen. Hovever nearly no need for sharpening, just stropping with diamond spray compound or Bark River compounds.
@@ssunfish, in my opinion, the only serious disadvantage of K390 steel is, that it is not stainless. That's why it is laminated by stainless N690. The only not laminated part is the bottom of scandi grind, which you strop from time to time, so you regularly remove any stain from it. That's why I consider this blade (it behaves like) stainless K390.

I totally agree with your number 1. In a survival situation you will need a very dependable tool, not the fancier or the nicest but the sturdiest and a jack of all trades. So, again, Extrema ratio Selvans, it's ugly as hell but is good as heaven.
I tested my faulkknevin A-1 in humble laminatedvg-10 In our annual rain storm and its still sharp after a ton of freasther sticks and splitting wood for a fire box for hours.
Many new knives have come and gone but I love the ZT 0562. My 19 year old son shocked me this year by buying me one for Christmas. That boy and his work ethic continue to make me a proud father on a daily basis.
You should find one of those old surplus British MOD survival knives and test it. I've seen a lot of people turn those into bushcraft kinves and they say they did well, but I'd want to see you guys put it through the works lol

I can feather with it just fine, split (different technique than with a knife), and of course chop like none of my knives could even dream. And it looks goooood!

I bought a bark river cpm 3v and while I won't put it thru the extreme like you guys, I was wondering if whetstone or the sharpening machine is better for retaining and not damaging the metal overall

I have the Helle Utvaer, and it is one of the better full tang knives of that brand. It is light though, for Helle it is a survival knife, but really, like you said and for me, a bushcraft knife.

The AD10 is an amazing knife, basically a fixed blade in terms or strength and comfort (great handle)

I prefer the TRC Mille Cuori,partially removed some coating from the spine near the tip,awesome ergonomics,best steel imho
I was thinking the same knife while watching this video! TRC Mille Cuori also provides a tool, that I always miss when I'm outside! That's the hammer it has on the bottom of the handle! What a great, solid knife!!!

@@Robinson.69 I guess he removed it, to add the 90 degrees sharp spine ability, that is literally an extra tool, which can be used in a number of occasions.
I received 4 knives for Christmas. My dad got me a Snap-on/Kershaw collab knife with N690 steel. Let me tell you it's razor sharp. And my Uncle got me some decorative knives that are beautiful to look at.
