I am 34 years of old. I have fished most of my life. I have taken some time off due to a 8 year habbit. I am 3 months sober now and like most addicts I turn my addiction into another, FISHING and I LOVE IT!!! I went out and got my self a decent Abu Garcia Low Profile Pro-Max Combo with a 7' medium heavy rod. I want to thank you and fishing for keeping me passionate about something thats truly wonderful. You are a great teacher and just subscribed yesterday. You are a master at your craft sir and keep up the good work. PS Froggin is my LIFE i am always down to DTF (Down To Frog)
I just subscribed to your channel, watched three videos, and I've learned more in those three videos than the hundreds of other videos I've watched. Great job!!
BamaBass. Since your the Professor of topwater action. I thought you might be able to help....I once had a cross breed between a popper and spook. It had a face like a popper but the bottom side of the face came to a point. Almost the shape of a heart...if the top side of the heart was rounded off.. (}
not only did I like this format it is the reason I subscribed, with so much bass info online these breakdowns help viewers to remember the overall use of each piece of gear/technique. thanks for doing this
Thankyou from Southern Africa. We have serious heat here in Summer. 40 degrees C at times. I find top water does well for large mouth over here. Really enjoy poppers on flat water without wind. Really love this Bass fishing. It’s incredible stuff man
GOOD LORD! I've been fishing for 20 years amateur (co-angler) and i just learned something. My Dad always said, you only mess up when you think there's no more to be learned. So thank you for the video, it taught me something...........and please make some more.....
Russ I really enjoyed this educational video. I am a topwater guy, and can throw topwater most of the year in Florida. However you made me think about why I throw certain topwater baits at certain times. Good stuff Russ!
I am a top water junkie! Waiting for my plopper and terminator frog to come in the mail. I hope to have another couple months to use them here in the Midwest! excellent videos!
I grew up on topwater fishing with my dad.im 39 now and hes passed on but i still stay true to it.a lot of what you do and say reminds me of the things he preached to me 20 years ago.and we are BAMA fans to!just wanted to say your our modern day Bill Dance brother.i used to love hearin bills intro music on saturday mornins..now uve took that place.thanks and ROLL TIDE BABY
By far my favorite UA-camr, I watch 1 rod Jon b and a lot of others but I always get excited when I see one of your videos in my subscription feed! Keep up the good work man!!!
yes. more educational videos please. I enjoy watching you and Liz fishing. you guys are awsome. I've got a few topwater baits from bama frogs and think it's awsome that you guys take the time to personally sign each receipt. Thanks for representing Alabama with class. Roll Tide.
Keep up the educational videos. Every angler has different gold nuggets and every part of the country the bass act different. I appreciate the constant education!
One of the best most informative bass fishing vids I’ve yet too see. Gave me a lot of insight as a new angler. It can be confusing with nobody to show you the ropes. Keep up the vids 👍🏻
Man, what an informative overview. I watch several of the you tubers I consider more informative that the run on the mill people. But watching this, I had no idea how ignorant I was about these topwaters. I know have to watch every one of your teaching vids. Teaching vids are my favorite. I am much more informed and less ignorant that I was, when I took up fishing again in April. Wow but a long way to go. Thanks for your help, and love the blow up vids. If you had a printed area, where i didnt have to take notes so fast, lol. But I wouldnt give all my hard work away that easily either. I you travel to Louisiana, and fish any of the lakes arount North East Louisiana, let me hear from you ..............DS toledo bend, caddo, and it puts you close to Texoma, Lake of the Pines, Sam rayburn, and Lake fork. Good look and thanks .......................... educational.................. yeh
This video is exactly what I was looking for as a new angler! Please keep them coming; I am really looking forward to the Weather and Pressure. All your videos are great and can't wait to give these tips a try. Thanks!
The 5 part series would be awesome! 3) Understanding Big Bass and 5) Cameras and filming would be the two I would mostly be interested in especially if you can recommend cameras. The blow up videos are awesome! But I really enjoy your educational videos because out of all the guy I watch you hands down catch the biggest fish on a consistent basis and I really like to know how you do it. One more thing I just received my first Whopper Plopper from you guys on Monday. Took it out Tuesday morning and caught 13 in about an hour...awesome lure!
This was really helpful, thanks. We normally fish trout but found ourselves at a lake with massive stripers jumping all around us. We were throwing every type of lure at them and only caught Croppie, so clearly we were using the wrong lure for the conditions. Looking forward to trying out your recommendations next time!
Great video! One thing I don't do enough is topwater fishing and because of that I don't have much confidence in it but videos like this one really help. Great tips. Please do the series.
Can't say enough about the quality of your videos and how much info they provide. They have changed my game and shortened my learning curve. Also, I appreciate the fact that you portray your wife in the videos. She really looks like a sweet lady who loves to be with you and loves to fish. She has been a great example to my own wife, whom I love dearly, and whom I love to have in my boat. Question: your opinion on wake baits and when they are most productive(Ozark lakes?)
Great instructions. I cannot wait to start my top water game in the spring. Ive been mainly a crank bait fisherman and I am looking forward to expand my fishing experience. Thanks in part to you.
Great video!! Your probably on of the best top water UA-cam fisherman, and I can speak for many of us watching. We would love to learn more!! Great informative video
Definitely love education videos, the you tube bass fishing channels are where I have been learning the most about bass fishing I can be taught at technique and see it in action and then go try it for myself please do make your five part series thanks for the top water video keep it up
This is an awesome video including footage as well as a tutorial. So much information crammed into a short video! You get right to the point which I believe most people here would like to see. Good job and thanks!
Great video, I just started LMB fishing seriously, on a regular basis, last fall and I found this video to be very informative. Would love to see you continue on down the list you posted at the end. But don't stop making those "blow up" videos, they are the best vids on u tube hands down. Also looking forward to the conclusion of your vacation video and liz hunt for her new PB.
Always enjoy your educational videos so keep them coming please. As a change-up, would be neat to see Liz do one. Have watched her catch enough giants to know she has the knowledge.
These educational videos are great! I started fishing this year and I've loved it so far. Videos like these help me know where to focus my efforts. Thanks man!
I think the class info on fishing would be great. I watch UA-cam to learn little tips on everything I do. You never know when you are going to click a video and pickup something just a little different that will make all the difference. Keep up the great videos!
Just subscribed. Great video. Got right to the point, didn't repeat like everyone else does, stayed on point, organized. Well done. Would love to see an educational series although every video is educational I guess.
Thanks for the video Stephen. It was educational and entertaining at the same time! Would be great to see you do videos on understanding big bass and preparation before the trip. Keep up the outstanding work! RTR!
Always learn something from u and enjoy all ur vids..since I started watching ur videos I literally went from catching nothing to catching fish every time I go out and landing consecutive big bass during an outing..8lbs is my biggest which is a BIG fish up here in Long Island NY.. I've started a lil notebook of when, where and what I used that day and the weather conditions.. topwater is my thing as well, I love it..been smashin em..wish there were more places to go around me..I'm surrounded by saltwater lol smh..
I really wanna get n try that pompadour lure..looks awesome..the places we have out here on Long Island (Dicks Sporting Goods n Walmart) don't carry em..that lure looks evil lol
really appreciate you explaining the different ones I'm trying to learn as much as I can and there's so much I swear you learned one thing and then you have to look up another video to find another thank you please keep making your videos
Love your videos man! Would you be interested in making a series on all the types of lures, rig styles and how to use them and when like with what you did in this one? Weather and conditions included? This was amazingly helpful :)
Just wanted to thank you for this video we finally caught fish last night after going for the past few weekends but caught 2 crappies and one giant bass ty again
Definitely understanding big bass bc I've caught many double digit bass but I was just fishing the way I usually do and I just got into big swim baits this year all though it's kind of later now but next summer should be interesting
Wow....tons...tons...of info for a beginner like me....thanks a lot!!! I'm on my way to get me a wopper popper.....and a frog..... What size and color would you recommend...????
great info, great video. learned a lot, about to go get some more ribbit frogs then. I'm eager to hear more about weather and especially pressure, that's always been something I'm unfamiliar with
Also the weight of lure is important too. Now you can get cheap lures from ebay or aliexpress but they are lightweight than more expensive lures. Weight helps lure to sink and once you pull it it makes better popping sound. So more expensive lures in most cases does better job.
Stephen, the blow up videos are awesome. I'm also trying to become a better fisherman, so the tips really help also. Keep both style videos coming... Tight lines to you and Liz!! P.s. We need some bama frog stickers!!
What a education on the weather and temperature you factor in for the top water to us in those conditions thank you for shearing your knowledge and time spent.Keith NicholsonLaVernia TX
More educational videos would be awesome. The ones you do are really helpful, and usually the topics you choose aren't very well covered on other channels, which is really nice.
More educational ones sound good to me. Especially more about top water fishing. One of my favorite baits is the Ima Skimmer. If you have never used one maybe give it a try. I'd be curious what you think.
do an educational series. I'm learning to fish because my 3 year old wanted to fish. he is hammering bluegill with a mickey mouse rod, a safety bobber and hot dogs while I am trying to learn myself. I've been using Texas rigged senkos and crank baits and have been catching small bass. just bought a small frog and spinner bait to try. I think a series with an A-Z for beginners would be killer. rod/reel setup, 3-5 lures for beginners and how/when to fish them, what kind of line to use, how to tie knots, tools of the trade like needle nose pliers and clippers/scissors, how to bank fish and spot good areas etc
I think this video was Perfect. it was educational and had blow ups. I'd love more of em , I'm always trying to better myself. topwater is my favorite also.
Thank you, this really helps me. I would love to see me informative videos. You are a wealth of information, I would love to learn more from you. Covid has created a ton of new fisherman, myself being one. We all could use all the knowledge we can get our hands on. Thanks
I would love to see some videos on understanding big bass and breaking down how to fish with pressure levels. besides that, keep up on the top water! 👊
Awesome video! Would be informative for my self if you have any information on wind direction and If it effects blowing the bait fish to one direction of the pond or so on?
Very interested in the educational videos. Especially the weather and pressure stuff. I'm in Florida and it's hot, real hot. Then these thunderstorms will run through and drop the temp 20 degrees. I never know when to catch the bite. Before, after, should you fish in the rain if there's no lightning, etc.?

Asked for a Pompadour Jr., whopper plopper, and stutter step for Christmas! Can't wait!
Keep up the educational videos. Every angler has different gold nuggets and every part of the country the bass act different. I appreciate the constant education!

that "i know it" plopper is my favorite topwater. #2 loon plopper, #3 black shiner super spook jr, #4 jitterbug, #5 Mr. Whiggley rainbow trout
it did help me catch more bass on frogs and it opened a wider gap for all the frogs I have and when to use the and how to use them.
I enjoyed the info given in the vid; definitely made me reconsider my lure choices before I hit the water.
great info, great video. learned a lot, about to go get some more ribbit frogs then. I'm eager to hear more about weather and especially pressure, that's always been something I'm unfamiliar with
Great video man! Super informational for me... Top water has quickly become my favorite tactic.

Awesome tips, easy to understand and keeping it simple, thanks a bunch, from Alamogordo, NM.
