i like how letters on the front says DOGE. WOW Such vintage, Much clean.
Doge was the title for the rulers of Venice back in the good old days. Big John would probably eat all them hi-breed trucks for breakfast.
ikr thats been my favourite part of the truck
Much restoration, very trucke, so flatbed....
I was thinking about that...
Ikr it’s cool
This beast deserves fresh wood on the bed, bodywork and paint and interior enhancements. It paid its dues long and hard. This ol' boy needs and deserves a good refurb.
I agree sadly he doesn't seem interested in that. Really a shame as that truck is a time capsule.
Yeah I'd definitely like to see some more work done to this truck as well.
I agree. Needs some personal TLC. Maybe a big rig air ride seat!
Definitely need to address the rust issues whole they are addressable. It would royally suck if this truck rusts away.
I agree completely this boy deserves a second chance at life
The horse decal is so cool!
It's a mustang decal but I'm just sayin not tryin to be mean
@@fisherwebb7697
Yeah but that's what makes it cool
The old boy has a new friend now!
He's smiling now for sure!
Cant wait for more on this truck!
Calgary Stampeders
Love the way it turned out
"Every mornin' at the mine you could see him arrive He stood six-foot-six and weighed two-forty-five Kinda broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hip And everybody knew ya didn't give no lip to big John
(Biiiig John, Biiiig John)
Big Bad John (Big John)!" Truck is looking awesome brother!
Great song 👍
Now that you're singing Jimmy Dean songs, I want Sausage Patties for breakfast!! :-)
"Big Bad John"
More Big John videos! Would like to see something with the interior, glass, rims/tires, and flatbed.
Pressure washing an old abandoned vehicle the first time is like crack
There is something wrong with us
Big John is a White Stallion. Thanks for taking us along bringing him back to life to provide many more years of service 👍👍👍
Dylan we need a bed restoration video. Big John definitely deserves it. Some interior work and a windshield change would also be cool
Who knew Big John was that handsome :)..Looks literally like a day to night difference!
every time I see that faded decal on the passenger door I think this truck should be called "White Pony" Deftones fans will understand lol
Or call it the Laid Back (ooooooold 80s dance music fans will get that one)
..."If you're gonna ride, ride the White Horse!" by Laid Back too.
@@mathewm7136 YISSSSSSS :D
@@thedungeondelver Laid back......with my mind on my money and my money on my mind.
PLEASE do more videos on this truck! This is hands down my FAVORITE vehicle on your channel! 😃 These big old trucks never get the love and respect they truly deserve, so thank you for saving it!
Yes, thats why i subbed ,also its only 2 vids on the beast and did bugger all in them.
2 vids and the asking for 10000 likes , is already old.boring as bat shit " i dont think so tim "
Man that's nuts. It's almost like seeing an old photo of your Grandpa in his 20's, seeing John stand restored like that was almost emotional.
WOW!!! THAT TRUCK LOOKS AWESOME!! GLAD TO SEE YOU SAVED IT FROM SIMPLY ROTTING AWAY INTO THE GROUND!!
Wow! Awesome video. Big John standing tall and still ready for work after all these years.
Never noticed the horse on the door :D Big John suits it very well. Simply a giant workhorse.
Can’t ever put a price tag on seeing something coming back from the dead!
BIG JOHN is a Happy Clydesdale, reborn, and ready to start working again!
Great job Sir!
God Bless
😎
Never thought that the old truck would clean up that good
I worked in a rental yard in the 80's just a young kid washing and servicing these old trucks Fords Chevys and Dodges we had a ton of them in the mostly farm area of California I lived in and I gotta say I loved them even back then the simplicity of these old trucks was amazing so watching Big John get reborn really struck me, I don't know about restoring him he's only original once but I do agree with fixing anything that could cause further deteriortion and making him safe. What a badass ol truck Big John is a stud.
We have a Volvo BM 350 Boxer traktor from 1962 that still works like a charm, recently gave it a wash to get rid of the moss and upgraded the lights
keep it the way it is, love the way it looks after it was washed. you have to keep the horse on the door of the workhorse. that is amazing.
Everybody remember big John is a veteran, he deserves some more love remove the surface rust and give him some clearcoat so he’ll be around for another 50 years.
Who would ever think watching you power wash that truck would be so rewarding but for some reason it is LOL. I love watching you bring all these things back to life. Look forward to every video. Keep up the good content and thank you
Great job - definitely looks better! Cant wait to see you rip out ALL of the old wood in the truck bed and replace it with new boards.
I just love the old Dodge what a work of art.
I would like to see the flat beed wood being replaced, 2x8's would look great. Unless you cut down a tree and bring it to a local sawmill for your wood. Come on do not stop at this point, we need to see more or MR. BIG JOHN DODGE ! Love your chanel.
This is one of my favorite restorations EVER and I hate it’s over but thankful for the four videos that came from it
Getting some of the love that the old guy deserves. Make it totally safe and roadworthy, then the beauty stuff. The old guy would tow a big camper easily and enjoy his retirement.
More Big John progress updates please! Great job you did on resurrecting that old work horse!
I'll miss seeing Big John!
I, personally, would like to see him restored, but I know it's kinda expensive and takes time and effort.
I think he still deserves some aesthetic work though, even if a full restoration is not on the plans.
My Grandpa died in 57 driving a big Dodge truck. He was a Texas State Trooper and he moved mobile homes as a 2nd job. My family swore off Dodges after that, until me. Wasn't the truck's fault. He was tired, fell asleep, and that was it. I never knew him, but I love Dodges. I wouldn't have anything else... Except maybe a Plymouth. I'm glad to see what you've done with this one.
It's so rewarding to see this old truck brought back to life!
What an absolutely beautiful old truck, I would love to see you repaint this one and make her really nice again
Absolutely, bodywork and paint, new wood, and fresh interior for comfort and functionality. No patina. That's way to overdone. Fresh paint, making it as new would definitely be the way to go.
Little paint on those wheels and some new wood and Big John will be styling and working.
Nah, buff them wheels shiny then give them paint to match the rest of the truck before he (Big John the Dodge) goes to work once more
If you do replace the wood please show it! It would be hella satisfying to watch!
I just stopped what I was doing to watch this video, I Absolutely love that Dodge. The Horses on the doors Represents that Big John is a Work Horse 🐎. Great job Dylan.
This was such a cool lil series, i hope you wont stop making videos about Big John
I'm very happy for you man to have something that was built at a time when throw away did not enter people's minds a truck even after all these years still of full function and visual distinction.
Love this truck and it's amazing that you are giving it the love it deserves. The refrigerator type door handles are the coolest. From an era when things were built to last! Great job!
It is always so satisfying watching the muck and grime disappear.
Would love to have seen the new, badly needed bed and the reno'ed/cleaned up interior too. Well worth another video.
This was so satisfying to watch- from when you started working on it until now. Your videos are a kind of therapy for me, and inspire me to tackle my own projects. Thank you!
Wow!! it looks awesome!! i know it´s a work truck, but if you take care of the paint it will last forever!.. maybe you can talk with avalon king and ceramic coat Big John!
have your like sir, cheers from Argentina!
I think you just gave Big John a facelift I watch a lot of these restoration vlogs and I'll tell you big John has become probably my favorite I hope he gets another life in another chance to prove how important he is keep up the good work my friend 👍
I'd have the wheels powder coated, clean the interior up, and replace the wood. Also fix the windshield and window.
Big John deserves it.
I'm glad you mentioned the truck looking happy because I thought the same thing
Watching you pressure wash that lovely old girl was as satisfying as watching Rescue and Restore sandblast a project.
Big John looks so clean now. He definitely deserved this wash
I find pressure washing so satisfying, peeling of all the grime to whats underneath, thanks Dylan for the video👍👍
That truck absolutely amazing now even with the bed in rough shape. If it was my truck I would go ahead and just clear coat the paint that is on the truck. Love the old patina.
The jumanji music adds a whole extra vibe to the video
Beautiful truck, would love to see you take an older truck like this and make a Challenger style build out of it.
Enjoyed the video. After a hard week at work where it didn't seem like I accomplished much, I'm ready to power wash something real dirty this weekend.
Again, that really cool 'Forward Look' emblem on the fender, rocks!
Dylan my man please please please we want more of big John the dodge you just made us and especially me very very thirsty for wanting more content about it, And thank u a lot for making such videos 🥰
Aw man, don't leave us all looking like that Dave Chappelle crack head meme going, "Y'all got any more of those Big John Vids?"
It really do be like that
I would like to see more of big John too
The fact this thing hadn't rusted away is a testament to the quality of the original materials..
I never really thought of those old Dodge trucks as being a customizable vehicle, but I gotta say, Big John changed my mind.
Man that was so satisfying and relaxing to watch. Good job.
No kidding. I feel like I need a cigarette...and I don't even smoke.
That's a gorgeous Old 57 dodge this is going to be sweet to see her cleaned up @Dylan McCool
Like the fact that you take pride in what you do Dylan love your work 🎉
Great video. Let's see more of big John! Maybe hit those heavier rust spots with a little sandpaper and touch-up paint to keep it from rusting more in the future. Let's see another update when you do anything else new to this amazingly cool old workhorse.
Love the old, girl! Like the little changes they made during that year. I have a 56! Pickup, call it the dog! Cause it sleeps all the time for now. I have the butterfly hood on mine , thanks.
Trying to get a picture of mine to show.
You'll have 10K likes by dinner time today. Great truck. I like the fact that you know BIG JOHN is a work truck, and his scars are earned. I love the fact that he'll be put right back to work. New tires - good idea; New flatbed planking - good idea; keeping the rust at bay with touching-up the paint - good idea; fixing the window - good idea.
I like this series, and will continue to follow it.
I would love to see this as a ramp truck or rool back even with one of your rigs headed to a car show or meet! That would be cool!
Nice series, and nice truck. I appreciate the "off the beaten path" classics.
I am impressed that it still has working door handles.
Big John is older than me! I wish I looked as good. I'd love to see a video when you are making use of the vehicle. I bet he'll be even happier than he is now 😉
Great job.👍👏👏
I know you’re not a guy who fully restores things, so I think the paint is great how it is. But it would be cool to see the truck get new tires, painted rims, and new wood decking for the bed. Maybe even build some side rails for it. Great work Dylan!!
That truck is just beautiful. It needs a new wiring harness and oak bed. After that I'd drive it till the wheels fall off! Not many people can say they drive a flat head with a two speed rear axle. 😁
Power washing nasty vehicles is just so satisfying to watch amazing transformations great work @Dylan McCool
OMG... Big John the dirty Dodge looks great!!! I will agree this is one of your best pressure washing videos! Buffed out with a little rubbing compound, some Polish and paste wax no more dirty Dodge! Congratulations you did good!
23:36 Wait is that the end of the series for Big John? Damn, I really enjoyed watching you fix this thing. But if I am correct after looking at your Facebook, the '69 Charger is gonna make a comeback which is exactly what I was hoping for! So that's nice.
Wow! What a difference! With a little work, this will make a cool, one of a kind, tow rig. Nice work!
I’ve gotta admit that paint cleaned up way better than I thought it would. I’d love to see another video of him getting a new bed and the interior getting cleaned and redone. Great job.
Love this old truck! Looks so much better now. Enjoy it my old chevy is the same way needs work but it's a farm truck.
Man I love the videos about this truck! Can't wait to see more about big john. You don't see many of these big old dodges anymore. I want to find one now and cummins swap it. You have inspired me sir lol
Just watched all 4 of the videos on this truck. Loved it! What a great truck. Excellent work getting it going, and great to see the enthusiasm for it will continue! Would be good to see occasional updates on the old girl.
Dylan I never saw the horse on the passenger side until you first hit it with the Purple and it appeared like magic and then more so with the Pressure washer!!!!!
Absolutely love this truck. Always want a '57, hope to find one someday. Big John looks great!
Time for an update! I want to see it with the bed wood replaced and the windows all functioning. I would also love to see it with a little EXTRA love by having the body buffed out with a nice coat of wax. I know you said it’s just a work truck and that’s not really necessary but it would be a fitting tribute to that old work horse of a truck. I did a Big John marathon watching all 4 back to back in one sitting but would like to see an update video a year after.
Big John is looking way better than before.
I have to get into this group of videos. I would turn that into a daily. Too freaking cool
Awesome truck . I have 1956 f350 , it has a dump bed on it and I went to the local sawmill and got wood for it . It turned out awesome.
Beautiful truck watching you working on your vehicles always inspires me to keep working on my dodge.
The music reminds me of the works of Byron Metcalf. You did great, looking forward to seeing you get a hot water pressure water.
My neighbor had a 57 dodge one ton panel delivery. Factory 4x4 with the super red ram hemi and the push button auto. It was originally ordered by the Wisconsin dnr and had a factory snowplow
I remember power washing sos pads and the Scotch Brite pads with my dad buying old trucks from a local auction in middle school
The pressure washing segments are a natural AMSR content...
I loved this series! And I'd love to see the bed restored.
Holy Moley, You need to keep going on this Dodge. Some signage on the doors. "MaCool's Horsepower Garage"! Paint the rims a contracting color and replace the wood decking. Awesome project.
Now for phase 2. Engine room tidy, Full tune-up, Quiet exhaust, New wood on bed and possibly source the correct 2 speed rear axle for better highway speed. Remember now it's really a 3 speed with a granny low for lugging. You might also collect some 8.00x20 tires and learn how to do split rims if you don't already. I had one with a 354 Hemi years ago.
Loved this series.Watched all the Big John videos. Love to see more and possibly find out his military history. The 1957 truck series face was a one year only style.
I think you should throw a bit of rust treatment on the rougher parts, throw some wax on him and be proud of what you've done. Great job Dylan.
You should find more old trucks. Strangely satisfying compared to the cars everyone does. Good job and thank you.
I truly love watching your videos of Big John. I hope you'll keep us up to date when you get around to fixing the bed boards, etc
Love the truck mate.
Keep up the good work,
Keep those video's coming,
That is a great truck. I can see it as a stake body that can shake the stake sides for uses as a flat bed. Nice work.
I'm surprised how well the paint held up for this 57 dodge it could be 1000 percent worse just beautiful @Dylan McCool
I hope you fully restore this beast of history
3:30 who else expected the brass section to start blaring some raucous jazz?
I believe in mean green and purple power,, they do wonders for cleaning a vehicle up. The 57 Dodge will be a work horse. Keep cool your the man.
