Your truck may need a generator instead of an alternator. If it has an alternator, you don't need an external voltage regulator. The alternator has one built in.
I have to argue that truck is a gem. Also I seen junkyard digs get a mustang running that had street sign floorboards screwed in with self tappers. You sure you didn't sell them that Mustang? 😂
Yes, Dodge did offer these D-100 trucks with a big window. I owned a 1968 big window with a slant 6 and a three speed. Those poly-head 318's were great engines.
The Inevitable Jim fits perfectly with you, JD and Jess lol I have found myself growing an interest in these 60’s Dodge trucks, but I have enough projects as is haha

The best truck I ever owned. 68 Fargo. Red and white. Cab lights, nice ones. Tweed headliner. Auto with the shifter on the dash. Near the radio. 383. I removed the bench seat. But I kept it and put in a nice set of leather bucket seats from a Lincoln. My steering wheel was white. The truck was a work of art. I sure miss it.

Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⛵ yeah it's certainly ugly but it looks to be a solid candidate. You guys are a blast to watch, I love your sense of humor Jim. Yeah everything's going well, until it wasn't 😭 I think the hood now has more character. Thanks for all your hard work guys and the awesome video ✌️🇺🇲
Would love to find one! I learned how to drive on our ranch in Texas in a 1962 Dodge. It was a stepside, had the slant 6 and 4 speed stick with granny gear. That thing would drive through or over just about anything. In high school, I often pulled guys in their fancy duellies out of the mud.
Dodge called them the short box utility line trucks and Chevrolet and Ford called them step side short boxes . I have a 71 that's been lowered with the door handles shaved off & it has a 530 HP 440 wedge with a 727 with a 3,500 flash speed converter with a manual valve body . The rear is a 8/3/4 with the sure grip and 3:55 gears . Mines has updated axles so nothing like this truck has because these style axles this truck in the videos are known to have axle failures because the keyways like to break shear off .
TPBGIF, Thank Pole Barn Garage It's Friday!!! A few minutes in and my Friday has completely turned around. Thanks Dalton and Jim, appreciate you and your channel.
I don't know what the hell was the matter with me, saw this vid an hoy ago just started watching to the Classic PBG line "Quit makin me laugh fucker" I laughed my ass off my friend Way to go Jim!
NO WAY !!!! That truck is RAD !!! It looks like a Cadillac / Dodge truck hybrid. I've never seen one, love the dual headlights, it's just PERFECT ! 4:35 That doorless yard car is also AWESOME. Sitting 40 years and it basically started right up. Old cars RULE. Explain again your grampa's trick for trickling water into the carb, please, Dalton.
Add water down carb. Running engine gets hot. Hot engine cooks water. Water gets hot n makes steam. Steam cleans inside engine. Running engine farts stuff out exhaust. Leaving a cleaner engine to run better
That is called a dodge swept line. They weren’t made for very long. I’m not a mopar guy I prefer my dentside ford however a swept line with a 426 wedge is a truck I want. I have the 426 from a friend that’s a running engine just need the truck for it
Uber driver bringing me home from a hospital stay back in July had the hood deal happen. Nissan Leaf had the front trunk pop open on the expressway at speed and FUBARed the guy's windshield. Definitely a Code Brown moment.
A lot of people refer to the Sweptline trucks as ugly but I have to disagree, I’ve always loved the way they look. There’s just something about them. I especially like them in crew cab. They always make me think of the truck that ran Clark Griswald off the road in the beginning of National Lampoon Christmas Vacation. 🤷♂️🌲
Awesome old truck, and great video! You guys work together so well, and are just too funny. Can't wait to see what you do with a "modern" vehicle... I know how much you just love the modern LS engines.😁

The hoods on these were designed to open up all the way to the roof line so you don't need to pull the hoods off on these to pull a engine out . I've had 3 of these trucks 2 68s and 1 71 which I still have that's 440 powered .

Roadkill: Here's a barely rusted obscure motor we'll slap a supercharger on and drive 20 miles to the trailer. Pole Barn Garage: here's a pile of rust we found in a field and lets drive it 300 miles after cleaning the spark plugs with an angle grinder
Ugly? I always liked that style of Dodge truck. Ask a toddler to draw a picture of "a truck" and you get a D100. Those are magnificent vehicles. Especially when powered by a slant six. You could almost set up a small machine shop under the hood. Really, fond memories of swearing at MOPAR products of that era. I'd love to have one now to swear at.
Sweptline one of my absolute favorite dodges from that era! I almost bought a clean big block manual truck years ago and sadly passed on her for a dumb modern sports car.

Nah they just swapping conent for a but
I don't know why they call them self tappers. They are self drilling screws. Self tapping screws tap their own threads, pilot holes have to be drilled
That mustang was a rust bucket but with all the options being a GT and true V8 it could be worth something to a restoration nut
If it was license plates you'd know Derek had his hands in it.
