jeff as a new owner thanks for these videos. Did wish to remind you that when removing the filters, mention that the hot tub should be turned off to assure that no TDS end up getting sucked into the pipes.
I was just about to ask the question just got mine a week ago and about to clean mine and was wondering if I should flip the breaker when I'm cleaning it
Jeff, I have weir style skimmer, makes a strong whirlpool when the main jet runs, is this usual, I've checked all , the valves underneath, all seems ok, this is our first hot tub..(a used Clearwater XS 766 gold) filter seems clean, new 3 weeks ago.
Our Strong Spa Hot Tub doesn’t allow the filter to come out unless you shut it down. The suction when it’s running even just the circulation pump 24 hours does let go of the filter housing. Besides probably best to turn off the power to the tub so debris doesn’t accidentally get sucked into the system in that short time that a filter is not in the housing.
Good Morning! My family and I have a Swimspa and need to clean my filters. The Manuel says make sure the power is off.Dose that mean I need to turn my breaker off?
I have never owned a swimspa, but I can tell you with my hot tub, I don't cut the power when I clean mine. But if the manual says to, yes, I would just flip the breaker in the disconnect box located nearby.
Hi Jeff - when my hot tub runs it’s filter cycles, should the air valves be left open or closed? I have the same spa as you and I was curious how you do this? I think it is just pump 1 that runs on low speed during the filtering cycle. I have been keeping the air valves closed but not sure if this is correct. Thanks
Hi Chris I don't make any changes to the jets other than for comfort. I assume the rotating jets is what you meant by air valves. But even if that wasn't what you meant, I don't do anything to prepare for the daily filter cycles other than to remove debris as needed from the suction covers.
Man videos are awesome!!! Quick question in regards to sanitizer for my hot tub. I had it for 2 months and I put 2 ounces in per person after each use and wanted to see what product would that be or do you have a video for it. Don’t know if I can use a different product from I been using something 123.
Thanks for the comment. Because of all the comments I get, and my inability to answer them all in a timely manner, I answered yours in a video scheduled for 2/22/21. Please check it out and thanks for being here! - Jeff
I just found your channel, and i am really enjoying all of your videos. I am looking to purchase my first hot tub within the next year or two and i am trying to learn as much as i can. I have done quite a bit of research ovet the past year or so. You mentioned you have owned four hot tubs. I was wondering which brands they were and which one you may have liked best. I have a dealer close that sells Marquis and Artesian, which I know are pretty solid brands in the industry. But, just out of curiosity, have you had any experience with either of these two companies? Thank you for all that you are doing. I am looking forward to more of your videos.
Thank you! In all honesty I don't really remember which brands I bought the first two times. The third one I got I bought used on Craigslist and renovated pretty much from the ground up. And that particular company which was probably 20 years old at this point, has since gone out of business. The hot tub I have now, which I really like is from Masterspa and it's their Twilight series and this particular one is probably 8 to 10 years old. I haven't had experience, at least not that I'm aware of, with the brands you mentioned. But I would suggest that if you're on the verge of getting ready to buy and can wait until September or October, you are more likely to get a much better price and to be able to negotiate further. That time of year, as it is with automobiles, is coming up on the end of their season and so they're typically looking to dump the previous year's models at a lower price to make room for the new stuff coming in.
@@HotTubOwnerHQ Thanks for your reply. Your tub looks spectacular for almost 10 years old. I always wondered about when the best buying time was. I am in no hurry, but it is good to know. I am just trying to research brands and dealers close to me, and have more knowledge on all things hot tubs (which is why i am glad i found this channel). Thanks again for your videos...looking forward to others. Cheers!
That's my assumption based on how everything looks. But it was here with the house when we bought it a year and a half ago. But I was also gauging it by how the deck looks that it sits on as we just had to have most of that deck replaced. At the very least, it's got to be at least 8 years old
Sal Caterino I just bought a coast spa (curve luxury) a week ago and it’s awesome. Same features as a Jacuzzi brand but less expensive and has parts that should be less expensive to replace as they are sold/used by different stores and manufacturers. I live near where they are made (Vancouver Canada) so that makes it easy for me. Not sure if there is a dealer near you though.
We typically do as a precaution that the jets or cleaning cycle does not start when the filter is removed, and our strong spa has a secondary pump that runs all the time. That suction even though light, does not allow the filter to come out the housing.

❤❤ I've heard replace every 6 months, but I'm not correct it sounds like.
Just got our first, last month, an Artesian Spa Barbados and love it. Thanks for all your tips!
Hope you enjoy it!

Very helpful! Thanks!
Thank you so much
Have you a video on how to resurrect a neglected HT?
Do you need to shut off the Hot Tub or you can just pull the filter, clean it and put it back in ? Great channel

Is the Yuk hot tub cleaner something you can just add to the water weekly or you only use when you drain and re fill ?
What filter do you recommend? Too many options on Amazon and would love a recommendation from you with a link if possible.

Do you have to dry filter before putting back in Hot tub?

Hey there. Thanks for the video. So this Power Soak is a good product?
Hi Richard. It's exactly what I use and I like it a lot. It also has great reviews too.

Nice.
Well, I'm a pretty punny guy!

Do you have to turn off your hot tub when you take out the filters
Bought the power soak based on your recommendation. Is there a clarifier you prefer
