    Deck Seal from Stone Edge Surfaces is the best paint to use on concrete. I use it to paint concrete patios, pool decks, walkways, balconies, and stairs.
    I've even used it for my basketball court and it's been on there for 7 years.
    This is a single component acrylic & urethane tintable waterproofing sealer for concrete.
    It's very tough, durable, and flexible enough to withstand freeze & thaw conditions.
    Another thing I like about Deck Seal is it's very mildew resistant (a problem with a lot of exterior concrete) and it's also UV stable so it won't fade in the sun. (another problem with paints)

    Hi Mike I watched. Thanks for the info. I was really looking to see about painting a design on concrete and wanted to know what product to use to paint color on concrete. I would appreciate any advice. I have a driveway sidewalk that was painted and a medallion on the driveway I need to redo but don’t know what type paint will work. This was originally done 20 years ago. Thank you

    Looks great, I have a pool so I can really notice the change. My concrete isn’t cracked, but it’s shifted.the didn’t use re-Bare I’m assuming…. And never had those white strips. I go a change the liner next year hopefully parts of it that are shifted can be covered and built up a bit or I’m going to have to take it out…..
    The people I bought it from build pools, when I bought the house it was basically new. I was a 20 year old that bought my first house, knew nothing about pools or Hot tubs. I was basically a young kid that bought his first house, asking it was 100% perfect cause the people do it for a living. In in Canada so we get cold winters…. My aggregate is still good, no cracks, it’s just that each form has shifted. It’s a 50K pool here. Most people think it’s a nice pool, but it’s embarrassing.
    That looks good and looks like the liner has been changed looks like a new pool.

    Great job and perfect example what it takes for such deceivingly diy project. Three guys, various and special machinery plus the drying time in between repairs and coating. I am curious what would happen to stress joints since you painted over them? It seems that some sort of pvc is stuffed in there. Do you think coating will peal off of it or not so much? Thanks for sharing. 👽

      Deck Seal if used on a deck with a lot of texture like the one in this video, uses the roughness of the deck and is not very slippery. However, If it is very smooth concrete with no texture, then add an anti-slip sand, which is pretty typical of any acrylic or paint like deck coating going down over smooth concrete with no texture.

      It does well...but...a pressure washer at full strength is designed to strip pain and other materials away, so be carful of the pressure you use to clean any coating. Also, like any acrylic over time the elements can weaken the surface, so again...be carful of how much pressure you are actually using when cleaning the surface.

    • @yearight7956
      @yearight7956 2 роки тому +1

      Only grind high spots. If you don’t have a pressure washer look into soft washes for concrete with a cheap pump sprayer and a water/chemical mix. I’m not sure what pros would advise to use on concrete but a quick Google search would tell you.
      Grinding stains won’t help, it actually might make the stains worse by spreading/embedding them more into the concrete. If you grind away enough to remove the stain totally you’re going to have a bunch of low spots you need to go back and fill with a resurfacer so you added a bunch of extra work and spots the paint needs to hide. It’s way more work.

    Looking good.
    Some advice for the cracks on decks...
    1.Use grinding disk following and exposing crack. 1/8 - 1/4" deep should be fine.
    2. Blow out and remove dust.
    3. SIKA two part epoxy to fill the cracks, several passes if needed until epoxy levels on deck. Scrape excess when epoxy is tight enough.
    At this point, you can do several things depending on how wide the cracks are.
    With a hairline cracks, just breeze down the epoxy with grinder to feather it level with deck, this also preps the epoxy to allow a mechanical bond for paint or sealers or caulking. The crack in this video would get ground down, along with a very small groove following exactly where the crack is, making a bed for urethane caulking. Clean crack, fill groove with urethane and then level.
    You know everything about concrete and cracks, so what this will basically do is create a superior bond with both sides of the crack and put a flexible "expansion joint" (caulking) where the cracks are. It's going to crack again as you know, but the caulking and sealer won't. Keeping moisture out and not revealing the cracks when they do come back.
    Many years in Florida pool decking, best solution I've ever found. No call backs ever.

    • @WayneStratton

    • @consolidatedagg
      @consolidatedagg 2 роки тому +1

      I will let Mike (the expert) reply on filling in or not filling in...what I can tell you about Deck Seal is that it will "mimic" or coat over whatever is under it and show the pattern, bumpiness, etc. of what it is over. So if you don't like the texture of the concrete, you may want to address that first before adding a colored sealer over it.
