    Chris, I cannot thank you enough for this video. I tore a tendon 7 months ago and have had treatment on it ever since. I still have problems with inflammation and have tried everything to stabilize this injury ever since. Those arm bands simply do not work, but I am shocked by how stable I feel with your method. You're also the only person on the internet showing people how to do this themselves. I cannot believe how well this works. Thank you again!

    Brilliant directions for applying solo - His logical positioning of tape supports science of tendon relief while still providing functionality. I tried 5 other ways to apply k tape and this is the only one that has truly relieved pain and supported more blood flow to the area. Appreciate you Chris!

    Thank you greatly... mine has been acute pain at any flexion. We had a tornado here a few weeks back and I believe the starting of the chainsaw many dozens of times per day for weeks in the primary cause. I’ve been given a shot and series of oral steroids both. The tennis elbow wrap that has the air pillow is all but ineffective because (I think) of the height of the strain and size of my forearms. It just won’t grant relief and seems to aggravate it more. What is helping are: Adding KT tape as you described, my use of a 5% compound diclofenic cream (I’m already a crohn’s patient and after a 1/4 century in the Marine Corps I already had access to fine compounded meds for degenerative disease and the aches that crohn’s leaves you with; I suppose the general public has access to 1% diclofenic gel (which dries quickly as a bonus)), using IFT 2x daily, and 4 sessions with my arm wrapped up in my DonJoy IceMan.
    I tell you all of this to say this: The addition of KT tape is the one thing that has pushed me into a place where I feel any relief; even while arm hanging or setting propped an fully relaxed. As an Officer of Marines for 23+ years, I’ve experienced many injuries; some extremely painful such as separated fascia from multiple ribs, turf toe w/aggravated fracture, wounds, etc... and there’s no stopping when your nursing a debilitating, enescapable, repetitive or chronic injury like those. Sure it’s not the same as 3 fistulotomies, a TBI, blown ACL’s, L4-L6 and C4-C7 injuries and all the surgeries/suffering that come with those, but at least those land you in the hospital and you can recover/are given the chance to recover. These pesky injuries like this elbow which become acute (my fault surely because I didn’t stop once it became apparent but rather I thought I’d bounce back after a weekend and I actually pissed those attachments off worse/tearing them some), something like turf toe, muscle/fascia separations, etc... are in many ways harder to manage because the patient is battling the perception others may have of what kind of pain you are actually in, what capabilities you actually should tackle, and just how/what resting the injury look like. It’s just as bad as the individual in my case, because I push myself to the tasks I’m responsible for in life, to family, and to hold the line against other perceptions.
    This KT tape is a game changer. I’m not talking like have a good ankle taping in the 90’s vs a type II sprain either; I talking I needed this technology 30 years ago. I put this KT tape when accurately placed, into the same categories as my spinal cord stimulator (have had one in both upper and lower spine for 3 years now), my DonJoy & Breg icing systems, and my IFT, TENS, NMES systems.
    Thank you greatly again brother!

    Hi, I have watched many videos on how to fix a “tennis elbow”, … many therapists say you need to first heal the inflammation, stretch it, strengthen it … and it takes months to fix this problem.
    Now I kind of accidentally find this taping video and read the comments of how it magically helped everyone within few days and I wonder WHAT has the taping helped the people
    - to avoid the pain “pretend” there is is no real problem?
    - to help the healing process by relaxing (not stressing) the painful elbow?

    Hey great video! Thank you! I do have a question. My pain is more down on my ulna(sp?) More in the "funny none" area. I understand that just because that's where I hurt, it may not be where the pain is originating. Should I tape up exactly like you show here anyway, or should I move the "Y" tape to surround the painful area? Thank you!

    May I know what is the significance of anchoring the second tape diagonal up towards the biceps?

    • @ChrisKinchOsteopath
      @ChrisKinchOsteopath  4 роки тому

      Hi Chloe,
      Sorry for the late reply. I run the tape above the elbow onto the biceps region to stay away from the elbow crease. As the tape crossing the forearm is directed up the arm slightly, so as to go around the main area of pain, it is easier to cross above the elbow instead of curving back around to the forearm. If you find it easier to tape onto the forearm there is no reason why you couldn't. I hope that helps

    if my elbow i mild pain would it be an option to tape up and still train if its not too painful?

    • @ChrisKinchOsteopath
      @ChrisKinchOsteopath  3 роки тому

      Hi Ben, yes definitely. If you can train without significant discomfort I would encourage it. Work with some grip strength exercises or isometric wrist extension/flexion exercises also (you can find a bunch on UA-cam). Mild discmfort is not a concern during training. I would avoid pushing into 'pain' where possible though. If the pain is significantly aggravated after training then reduce the load or intensity, give it a couple of days rest and then return at a lower load or intensity

    I still don’t find it so easy to apply the exact way how instructed.. if you don’t get the angle of the first bit right, it all goes wrong direction. I ended up with tape applied differently, however it eased the pain.
    Also you are the first one who applies no tension to the first tape. Some apply 80%, some do flecks the opposite way. It makes me confused..

    Good day sir . thank you for the information and the video with the explanation. But I think my problem is somewhere else on the elbow. I ma 49 years old. Before I did 4-5 sets of chin-ups after ten repetitions, no problem. I won't do a single rep now, my right elbow won't let me go. It's a big pain. I don't know how it happened to me. I have no problem practicing push-ups, rowing and other exercises. But I can't do Military press and chin ups . Can you advise me? I use horse Bulgarian cream for healing. And then I discovered these adhesive tapes, which athletes also use after injuries. Can you advise me on what I should focus on, or how I should use this bandage on an injury. Thank you and have a nice day . Josef
