There is a huge, blatant, very unpleasant displacement map nonsense on the left side of the render. Glad to see I am not the only person who produces renders with those. Always a problem with these low down renders and Dmaps! My strategy for dealing with these is to make "patches" on a sphere and place those to cover up any of the jaggies that are really obvious: so put the ground texture manually to cover up such things. That, or render out with two sets of UVs and kind of photoshop it together in the problem areas. The thing Im speaking about jumps out at me, can be seen at 0:01 and whenever I see a ground render I always look for them and find them, even in Pixar films!
Great job.Keep it up,don't care what they say.People are always there to criticize people's work looking for NOTICE like they are the best 3d artist or animator in the world. Most times when you check out their work,it's worse than a 2 week tryo's work. The world we live in today.
I took an CINEMA 4D and completed it last week and it finally feels FUICKING AMAZING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT THE FUCK YOURE DOING!!!!!!!!!!!!! MANNN!!!!! KEEP THESE VIDEOS COMING !!!! Couple months ago I was just admiring the work confused and this was alien language to me -- NOW?!! this tutorial makes sense
Dear arthur Thank you for amazing tutorials Please also make a tutorial on rendering realistic gold and jewelries and i know there are many tutorials about that but i mean making a reallly realistic one Thank you for your attention and keep up the good work
Not sure if you noticed but both you and I got some areas of the landscape where the displacement created "shears" that look like the polygons were vertically distorted and you see the blocky polygons stretch. Is there anything you can do to fix that? I believe the main way you dealt with it was to backlight the scene so these area are in shadow.
That's really cool, but fireflies are the reason I stopped using octane, other renderer have issues with grain, but it's much easier to deal with than fireflies. They seriously need to solve that issue
Awesome work. Quick question. Your description shows a Laptop Build and a Workstation render Unit. Are you using two different computers at the same time? Are you on C4d on your laptop while your Workstation render unit is on Octane? Please let me know. If so, how. I Just got a descent workstation but whenever I'm adjusting trees and C4d while Octane is going on... is very slow. Your octane rendering speed is amazing
Hey man. Great video. Quick question. When I change the texture into a cubic projection, it does not look like yours. It looks like a checkered table cloth. Just a bunch of squares and no realistic sense of scale.
Hi Arthur! Great tut man! Is there any particular reason why u r cranking up Exposure in the CameraImager which is in the Octane Settings section and not the one in the Camera Settings? Thanx!
How can I place a road? make a traffic circle and forks for a dungeon and dragon map or battle map? I mean, I want the road to be marked as a low or trench.
Following now! :D Bloody amazing work and workflow - can you go one step further and then add in camera movement if you were going to use this as VFX shot?
You go to Window ont the top bar and then Customization>Customize Palettes. From there you can type in the commands you want and place them in the palettes. For example type Octane and you will see a bunch of Octane related buttons.
Damn, that's looking really great. I have been running into an issue when trying to use an .exr for my displacement. The layer shows up red and does not actually end up displacing the geometry. Has anyone else ever had this problem?
@@la4871 hello, I wondered if you had anymore tips about this. I tried the tif trick and it didn't work. I don't get the layer showing up as red. It all is just a flat image texture and does not add the detailed geometry levels we get in the tutorial. followed all the steps exactly (even the wet mud preset)
@@sygmod You could try 1) Increasing the displacement height in increments of 10. 2) Open your Displacement.exr file in photoshop and adjust the levels so that the darker areas are more prominent. 3) Refresh/restart your Octane live viewer periodically. Other than that I'm unsure. I like you, followed the tutorial step by step and am somewhat new to Octane myself.

@@Mxxm2024 he is using octane renderer in this video which uses gpu for rendering, processor can't do anything in this case you need a better graphic card like 1080 or above for fast renders in octane.
@@Mxxm2024 no, Octane is a GPU only render and it uses CUDA cores only which means you can only use it with Nvidia cards. The faster the GPU and the more gpu's you have the faster the render. If u have 2 cores CPU or 64 core won't make any difference to Octanes performance. And if you don't have any GPU with CUDA cores then Octane won't be able to render anything. GPU renderers like Octane and Redshift is much, much faster then any CPU render engines available.

Spitting out these videos so frequently, cheers mate!
Looks great and was fast. Great video, thank you
This is mind-blowing! I just started out diving deeper into 3D! I just downloaded Mixer and will soon get into Octane.
Thanks for sharing!

ahahhaah thats funny, not that I cant follow but its a great way to put it lol

Which plug-ins or version of cinema 4d do you used? I cant do it because i dont have any buttons like live viewer or other.
you need to install Octane for it.

I dont see those sample mixes at the beginning like wet mud. how can i turn them on?
thx!
how do i get the sticks and bushes please I'm going in circles
Mention Quixel in the title next time, thanks. Great result though.

my quixel mixer doesnt have sample mixes what do i do?

I’m in blender and I get those weird bumpy lines as well! Does anyone know how I can stop this from happening?
