The newer trucks throw codes for lots of things usually not dangerous, usually a sensor out of parameters, you can read the codes off of the people net ,30 yr crete driver here msg me if you need some help or advice also I'm an owner operator for a long time so I've had to figure alot of stuff out over the years
Same deal with Catapiller trucks. Our truck shop has a computer program that reads the truck sensors and tells us to keep rolling or park the truck in a safe location, hopefully in the mine.
There should be a diagnostic screen you can check when you have an issue like that. Some companies disable it because they don't think drivers are smart enough to try to diagnose problems or don't want drivers trying to be mechanics. But of it is available, the diagnostic screen cam give you an idea of the severity of the problem. If it is an orange light, it has to do with the emissions system, if it os more yellow, it is an engine issue. I was actually laughing when I watched the kw vs cascadia video and Kevin was saying how freightliner has been more reliable. I kept thinking " just wait". 😁 Hopefully he was right but don't be surprised if he wasn't.
My late husband worked for Crete for 14 years. He worked for Martin and Heartland before that. I only worked for Crete for under 2 years. I am really impressed about the way they do business and listen to drivers (who are close to the action) but they also do what is good for the business. I got to learn the advantages of driving team that solo driving does not appeal to me. Besides the emotional toll it would be for me to drive without Edward. Crete is a great company!!

I am just seeing this days later but since a couple of days now I also have a check engine light. I checked also to see there’s no leaks or anything weird going on but everythings ok. Heading to the Lakeland yard and having them check it out especially truck is running ok. No need for me to call breakdown. Probably just slows sensor in Kevin’s frieghtliner just like mine.
@@TheJoyofTrucking truck still down. They decided to check it out a day or two BEFORE I’m supposed to come back from hometime. Truck needs a deff pump replacement. Took forever for it to get to Lakeland. Now their waiting on Frieghtliner mechanic to come replace it. Hopefully by tomorrow or Friday it should be ready. Not expecting much from breakdown pay but at least it’s something.

On the newer cascadia, orange engine light could be comms error, antifreeze sensor error, is a biggy. Battery switch trick is key, check onboard readout if you have access. I never had one stay on, and stop me. Always check though. Good luck.
The 2018 Freightliner cascadia I was raving to you guys about getting 70 mph on the cruise just gotta error code after treatment system performance and engine derated to 55 mph. Luckily I was 45 miles from my terminal but I'm going to be down a day because they have to get the parts to fix it. Good luck n u guys are still doing a awesome job

That engine light is not as important as the othe 2. Truck is still drivable with that light. My freightliner that light came on and it was the NOX sensor was bad, but the truck was still drivable.

No worries that happens to these freightliners it's always something that triggers a sensor. A real problem is when your red check engine light comes on. Yes crete Schaefer and hunt same owner they are a great company. I've been driving for 30 years I only drove for the reefer team only for 3 months. I bought my own truck doing my own thing. This company is debt free when they need 500 to 600 trucks they just write a check. They are in the top five best companies in the country good luck.

@@vendingdudes Cop was at his truck and I saw him give him a ticket. Guy wasn’t wearing his seatbelt don’t know what to tell you. Maybe he filled him in not sure.
sorry i left a comment and i didnt watch the whole video and i said to shut all the power and i watched the video and you did exactky what i said.... but also sometimes if you just keep driving it itll go off by itself ...it may take a few hoyrs or even a day..thats what my freightliner does and if you want to keep your truck idling the teperature senser should be on the bottom side of the drivers mirror.. put a heating pad around the neck of yhe mirror so it touches the sensor anr use a belt to keep it tight and it fools the sensor..you truck will syay on..

So it will depend on how often you’re home if you want to set it up or store it. If you store it it’s extra time to set up each time. Are you visiting other places for home time? If you take the key out shut that switch off and it doesn't cure it you can get codes off the dash diagnostics
Also most times turn power switch off by seat keep it off for bout 10 15 min and see if it fixes other than that if its running good truck on

sometimes if you turn all the power off for about ten or fifteen minutes itll reset ...if it dont it may just be a sensor.
If you went over 1 more to that little wrench 🔧 emblem on the dash under there it will tell you the code & problem mine does

There is a filter to the air filter gauge, fyi. Always take a sharpie and mark the filter date of change. Do not trust that filter gauge.
