    The Tsaesci are rather formidable on their own as they virtually curbstomped the Empire during the Third Era when the Emperor tried pushing into Akavir. It's actually possible that the Tsaesci were responsible for the extreme & erratic weather that was encountered there which wouldn't be surprising considering that it's implied that the inhabitants of Akavir mastered magics completely unknown to those of Tamriel. Everytime Tamriel was invaded by the Akaviri, it resulted in international conglomerates being formed just to combat the foreign invasions & even then victories were as decisive as walking on thin-ice whereas Akavir in contrast literally wiped the floor with the most powerful army that Tamriel could muster at the time - so much in fact that people don't even know what the inhabitants looked like to begin with because no one survived to tell the tale.
    While Akavir appears to be formidable, I doubt they will invade anytime soon as the two real big factions there still have each other to worry about & like in real life, it isn't exactly easy to maintain reliable logistical lines across thousands of kilometers of open ocean especially when you are still navigating via classical methods & trying to support the frontlines on the home field. The Ka Po Tun are really the only ones who pose a threat to Tamriel, but as Tosh Raka has stated himself, they don't plan to invade Tamriel in earnest until the domestic problem of the Serpent Folk (Tsaesci) is disposed of completely. Clearly the Tsaesci pose a serious threat to them & the Ka Po Tun need them out of the picture before resources can be pooled into Tamriel. Needless to say, if even the Tsaesci who wiped the floor with Tamriel numerous times throughout history are hinted to be _losing_ against the Ka Po Tun, then this really speaks serious volumes about their potential strength.
    God forbid (or in this case Divines) that the Ka Po Tun launch a full scale invasion of Tamriel during the Second Great War because no one will be able to stop them if they are really as powerful as they are hinted to be. The Empire is too weak to do anything, everyone else is just far too disorganized, & the Aldmeri Dominion is just far too stuck up it's own ass that they would get their shit kicked in alone. If Tosh Raka is serious about this dragon ascension bullshit or whatever, then Tamriel is going to need everyone to aid however they can like what they did with the Sload long ago during the sinking of the Thrassian Archipelago.

      I like how you ignored that only 3 races wiped the floor with the Kamal and pushed them back off the face of Tamriel back into the sea. If the empire bands together it’s gonna take more than one race from Akavir to conquer that continent. The tsaeci tried and failed too. They got lucky because they’re good politicians and figured a way to gain power and take the throne. Regardless the potentate was assassinated.

Who's to say that Akavir isn't ruled by its own deities? Maybe ones who hate the gods of Tamriel which is why their worshippers always want to invade

    So. When Septim V invaded akavir, the storms, ridiculously long supply shipment distance, and his inexperience with the area is what lost it. Not their military. Its possible they have a stronger military, but its far more likely that they won by circumstance.
    Basically: everything you said is complete bullocks.
    Maybe thats a little far. But the storms destroying and ravaging the fleet is what lost the war. The same thing literally happened to china in the 1500's. 3 times. They couldnt even make it to Japan.

    Something that could be considered is while Tamriel may currently be in a weakened state and has had it's share of wars, the issues seem to be resolved one way or another and for a while, until the next political uprising or apocalyptic threat, things are at peace. Whereas Akavir seems to be in a perpetual state of civil unrest based on what we know. Probably due to the Kamal's insatiable need to attack the nearest nation when they thaw because reasons or the fact that the Tsaeci apparently love conquering shit (the dragons of Akavir, for instance). As long as either two of those are around, it's assumed nothing will ever change.
    Basically, Akavir could theoretically conquer Tamriel if it's inhabitants got their shit together.

    The tang mo most likely wouldn’t team up with the ka po tun. The tang mo are known to be a very peaceful race. They are also known to keep them selves and are infact very distant from the rest of Akavir. Additionally the tang mo are not weak as they have fought off all of the kamal’s attempts to invade.
    The imperials were not driven out of Akavir by the Tsaesci effortlessly. Throughout the duration of the imperial attempt to colonize Akavir, the imperials struggled running low on supplies, etc. When they first landed in Akavir they actually did rather well. The Tsaesci attacked when the Akavir imperials were severely weakened by famine and lack of soldiers. This ultimately drove them out of Akavir. A result of bad luck, not the Tsaesci’s “extremely skilled” army.
    Research for this video was poorly done.

      Exactly, the Tsaesci victory was only possible due to the lack of supplies and information about Akavir on the Imperial part.
      The Empire didn't know what to expect, it's armies too scattered and the Tsaesci were in their homeland, a recipe for disaster.

      What makes you think that? From Elder Scrolls 5 : Skyrim?
      During the events of the game, the entirety of the Imperial legions are on the border with the Aldmeri Dominion, preparing for the inevitable 2nd Great War.
      It's said during the game they had to recruit locally to not take troops from the border, anyway...
      Long live the Emperor, long live the Empire.

    Akavir is better on average, but Tamriel probably has more powerful stand-outs. Of course we don't know that much about Akavir, but we've not heard anything about someone like Miraak who casually broke off a region from the mainland during a fight to (probably accidentally, or at least not purposefully) create the island of Solstheim and also won a fight against 63 dragons on his own earlier. And while not necessarily focused on fighting power, there's also people like Divayth Fyr, Shalidor, Talos, the Almsivi, Ysmir, Morihaus, Pelinal, Karstaag (if you consider him a person), Mannimarco, Therana, the Wild Hunt (also not a person, but controlled by people), the Black Dragon, the dragon priests, psijic mages, the Indoril family archmage, Dagoth Ur, Moraelyn, Oreyn Bearclaw, the Jaqspur, Eplear Camoran, Uldor, Celethel, the Snow Prince, Veloth, Kagrenac, and of course the best of all of them: Teldryn Sero. Also honorable mention to Falion, because we have no idea how powerful he is and Ondolemar for being the wittiest person around.

    • @zylaaeria2627
      @zylaaeria2627 6 років тому +2

      Voxdalian - Only because it's more developed & really, most of these individuals aren't really around & even when they were around, defeating Akaviri forces wasn't exactly a walk in the park. Keep in mind that the Kamal invasion took place when the Tribunal was still around in Morrowind & they didn't exactly have it as easy as you would imagine as they still had to band together with both Skyrim & Black Marsh to force them to retreat back into the sea. Fourth Era Tamriel is pretty much handicapped in every regard with the exception of the Psijic Order who unsurprisingly could potentially cough something up especially when they have the Eye of Magnus which is stated to be capable of unmaking reality. However, given that their MO generally revolves around not intervening in the affairs of Tamriel, who knows if they would really do anything, but a full scale invasion of the continent might make them reconsider that statement for a moment.
      Also, Karstaag is kind of an interesting fellow because who knows? He could be the last living Kamal on Tamriel for all we know? Akavir can have it's own share of powerful/godlike individuals but until it's mentioned we are left in the dark. Tosh Raka is the only one that we really know of & he is implied to be to Akavir like what the Tribunal were to Tamriel. He could easily be uncontested in the Fourth Era unless something else pops up.

    • @christianrussberg4547
      @christianrussberg4547 6 років тому

      Dont forget the non-canon main characters in each game. The Dragonborn from Skyrim coupled with The Hero of Kvatch from Oblivion would probably alone be enough to conquer or defend against the Akaviri.

    • @Voxdalian
      @Voxdalian 6 років тому

      I didn't mean in a war between Akavir and Tamriel, I'm pretty sure Akavir is superior but neither would be able to win.
      And some of them are obviously not fighters, so wouldn't do much against an invasion, but they do set an example of how powerful some Tamrielic people are.
      And if we assume this hypothetical war would be set after Skyrim then the ones who're still around are the following:
      The last dragonborn, not mentioned in my previous comment, but he defeated Miraak, who I'd say is one of the most powerful warriors in TES history.
      Divayth Fyr, he may have died, but it's unknown, and I sort of doubt he did, anyway, he's no fighter, so it wouldn't change anything.
      Talos and Vivec are both in Chim with infinite power and probably favour Tamriel, interesting issue, would make the fight unfair, so let's not count them.
      The Wild Hunt, though that doesn't go far beyond Valenwood's borders, wouldn't help much.
      The Psijic Order, but they don't care about wars, so count them out. Maybe some of them would temporarily leave the order to fight for their country, idk.
      The Jaqspur, they'd be able to snipe Akaviri from their ships before they even come on land and can be quick to retreat. Again, not sure if they'd leave Valenwood.
      Teldryn Sero would obliterate all of Akavir on his own, but that's just a meme, so that doesn't count either.
      Falion, with an unknown powerlevel, but we know he's definitely somewhat powerful and probably has a convincing hold over a daedric prince to help him however that works.
      Ondolemar, but jokes aside: the Thalmor, because they have some pretty crazy magic as back-up, like that with the moons. (And yes, I do believe they did that.)
      So between these, the ones that would help are the last dragonborn, the Jaqspur, Falion and the Thalmor (because better the empire than the akaviri).
      So not many of them that we know of, and Akavir is indeed even more unknown.

    • @Voxdalian
      @Voxdalian 6 років тому +1

      The Hero of Kvatch is Sheogorath now and lost most of his own personality, so it's doubtful that he'd be much help. And also, the Hero of Kvatch was nowhere near the power level of those I mentioned during his life, the last dragonborn from Skyrim is an interesting one because he did defeat Miraak, who was one of the strongest warriors in TES history but we don't know much about how strong TLD actually is in the canon, but I think it's safe to say he'd definitely be a great help.
      As Zyl'Aaeria pointed out though, Tosh Raka is immensely powerful and probably exceeds TDL in power.

    • @christianrussberg4547
      @christianrussberg4547 6 років тому

      Voxdalian Maybe it's canon that The Hero of Kvatch lost his personality or whatever, but I always thought he just inherited the title of Sheogorath along with some Daedra powers to be able to keep the Shivering Isles running properly. After all, you can technically become Sheogorath BEFORE you become The Hero of Kvatch and do all that other stuff in Cyrodiil.
      It would make sense if he travelled back and forth between those two realms regularly to attend his duties in each respective world (Remember that he is Listener of the Dark Brotherhood and supposed to visit Bravil once a week), so it's not a stretch to believe he would aid Tamriel/Cyrodiil in the event of a foreign invasion tbh.

    Tamriel forces should also recruit non-military assets. Skyrim alone has the vampire lords of Volkihar, the Greybeards, the Ebony Warrior, and the Psyjic Order.
    It would also be cool if the OG 4 factions have a role in the defense/invasion.
    Dark Brotherhood/Thieves Guild - espionage, sabotage, assassination
    Companions - vanguard or cavalry if they can transform into werewolves
    College of Winterhold - auxiliary units for each school of magic such as bombardment (destruction) and first-aid (restoration)

    IMO there is no way to know. Just look at how much has changed in Tamriel since last contact. Two things though:
    1. We don't know what the Nerevarine did in Akavir and if his knowledge/power for example sparked something like the US visiting Japan late 1800s/early 1900s, making them look outward again because of USAs perceived power (steam boats). The Nerevarine was almost a God in power level after all, and killed at least one God (Almalexia).
    2. We know the Akaviri have magic that the people of Tamriel don't understand. Changing the weather for example. If they could cause drought for a couple of years, it would cripple the Empire.

    Even though times change, I like to think of this dichotomy. One continent was enslaved by dragons, the other basically *ATE* their dragons I don't think a modern Tamriel (Circa 4E 201) could stand against Akavir, their unbridled savageness seemed to sharpen them with their internal or external conflicts, not make them weaken as it seems the infighting that goes on with Tamriel. Uriel's attempt may have been foolhardy, but I think the take away is that even the Imperials and their proud Military tactics were seen as child's play to the Tsaeci.
    Only bone I can give Tamriel, is if a conquest attempt with the Numedium bonus chance if in the control of some one like Tiber Septim. Even then we still don't know the full extent of the Akaviri forces and likely would aim their efforts at more deceptive and cunning measures as they shown against Uriel V
    Also I wouldn't even call the Tang Mo weak if they managed to not be conquered at any point in their known history, they may just be highly defensive and territorial in nature and not expansionists.

    I agree with most of the points made but I think personally it doesn’t matter whether one is stronger it’s the fact that to fight a war on an entirely different continent far away from your home base is challenging and costly. Real life examples exist such as the British empire (who at the time had the strongest army) lost to some American Militia, there was just a too far distance to keep up the war! Examples exist in Tamriel’s history as well such as the empires invasion of akavir which failed primarily due to logistical issues. Same happened with the akavir invaders they just didn’t have the troops to win a war on Tamriel and thus we can’t know which powers are stronger as both are limited by logistical issues and the fog of war.

  • @themaster1670

    Well, Tamriel has a Dragonborn, who is basically like a living god to all the Akaviri, so they'd probably kneel for him/her rather than invade or put up a fight.
