      excellent, i hope you had a great time! have patience and be ready for some adventure. if riders start to drive you nuts after awhile just tough it out until you get enough rides for the bonus, I've met a few people recent who try driving for uber only to give up after a dozen rides! the extra bonus is worth driving for. Good luck!

    • @latintale5963
      @latintale5963 7 років тому

      What's good bro, awesome video. I've been very discouraged lately only bcuz two month in to my driving and I'm yet to see a bonus. I've NEVER gotten one, NEVER!
      First it was that $750 sign-up bonus that I never got, then the $1000 bonus for the first hundred people picked in a month and never got that shizzle either. You feel me...So, yeah, it's very discouraging.
      I emailed them with my concerns and there response was to "screenshot" the promo! What, how and where?
      Anyway, another issue I complained about ( the most important one ) was those miles driving up & down the city for a measly $2 & $3 a ride...¿What kinda shit is that?
      I gas my tank ( X ) with fifteen bucks and at the end of the night that's all I've made and I'm driving home on ( "E" )..!!
      Something is NOT right in this picture, ¿Am I missing something here?
      Thanks in advance buddy, peace.

    • @IamPowerSurgeOfficial
      @IamPowerSurgeOfficial  7 років тому +2

      well man if you didn't get your bonus somethings definitely not right. I've gotten mine and all the people I've referred. I really only drive when theres a bonus or incentive for the weekend which happens a lot here in oc california. however when its not a saturday night its much harder to make good money. i used to wake up mondays at 5 am to do the airport rush which id make usually 60-80$ after about 4 hours then id usually have to drive home from la 40 minutes which is a pain.
      as far as the cheap rides go those DO suck. but when theres an incentive like 10 rides between 10pm and 2am those short rides help you achieve that bonus. in my county i know down by the beaches i will usually get short rides and inland they are a little further.
      if its not working out for you financially and you couldn't get your bonus . i understand why you would get disenfranchised . i try to encourage people not to seek uber as an actual job but rather as a fun supplemental income.
      if you want to guarantee good money just go to the busiest part of your town that is close by at 1:59am or 2:00am on the dot and accept a ride. it should be high surge enough for you to make a few dollars
      good luck :-)

    Have you ever had an issue where a city was so congested (for a big event) that your network service slowed to a crawl and you had issues accepting and ending rides?

    • @IamPowerSurgeOfficial
      @IamPowerSurgeOfficial  8 років тому +1

      +Angela Greco thats never happened to me and I've been driving a lot in los angeles and in Oc even when the fair is going on or a super crowded event i always seem to be able to get rides (usually instantaneously). I've never had trouble ending rides either.

    • @NateGreensides

      This past weekend in SF with pride. It was horrible on T-Mobile with about 1 million extra people in the Bay. Really cut into money making

    • @AngelaGreco
      @AngelaGreco 8 років тому

      I contacted Uber after my own experience -- they had an incentive and I didn't get it because I "didn't accept enough pings" but the service wouldn't let me accept them, they'd time out. I lost a ton of money that day (St. Patrick's Day Parade). Lame sauce.

    • @IamPowerSurgeOfficial
      @IamPowerSurgeOfficial  8 років тому

      from what I've seen most uber "incentives" are impossible to reach. like take 6 hours between 10pm and 2 am must can only deny 2 get 50$. another one for EDC las vegas was 500 $ to take like 7 or 8 trips from to/from edc. but traffic was so gnarly getting into the event and it was so hard to find riders that most drivers couldn't complete those rides.
      the only incentive i like is the extra 1$ for every 10$ in fares. because essentially thats letting you keep 90% of the fare

    How do I know who gave me a lower than 5 stars? I would like to know so I learn what might have upset a passenger, etc. On my first day I did 8 rides and tipped by 3 people and somehow ended up with 4.8 rating and I am really upset about this. I don't have any idea what went wrong.

    • @IamPowerSurgeOfficial
      @IamPowerSurgeOfficial  7 років тому +2

      oh your doing just fine! thats almost a perfect rating! your customers probably all gave you 5 stars however if you cancel or don't accept every ride in lowers your rating by a tiny fraction so its basically impossible to be perfect 5 star driver unless you have never passed up a ride or cancelled one. after over 800 rides I'm 4.9

    What would you say if I wanted a friend to ride with me on these late night rides? Is there any prohibition against it? Will riders give me a low rating? I, of course, am female and I would like my boyfriend to ride with me on late night "hero hour" rides.

    • @IamPowerSurgeOfficial
      @IamPowerSurgeOfficial  7 років тому +1

      You have to drive alone unfortunately I think thats the rule. You have to have room for 3-4 passengers in your car because sometimes you have to pick groups up that barely fit in your vehicle. I have picked up people with wheel chairs that would go in the back and they sat up front, ect. I would say you need it for the room. I understand your concern Uber passengers can be at times unappreciative and/or creepy and/or wasted! Im going to make a video about weird/bad passenger moments

    I wanna move there because I heard some people make about $1500 to $2000 a week doing uber so I would not mind to relocate to LA coming from New Jersey . Also I'm into the music business so LA will be a good Market also more of the majority of people I pick up will have something to do with record labels. Far as rent I will rent threw airbmb .

    hero hour is also known as death hour. 3 uber drivers have been killed working nights and many more assaulted and stabbed. we are in july 2016 now, and after pay cuts it's not even worth it to pick up aggressive and violent drunks. it does not even surge like it used to. better to be safe and drive day shift.

    be careful about LAX! you HAVE to have a permit to drop off and pick up passengers!! don't believe anyone who says differently as this comes directly from Uber and LAX. you might get lucky and have been lucky, but the ticket is $1,000!

    • @IamPowerSurgeOfficial
      @IamPowerSurgeOfficial  8 років тому +1

      Your right about that, its easy to acquire the permit though, you watch a few online lessons about how to help persons with disabilities in and out of the vehicle. it takes about 15 minutes then you can print the permit for LAX

    • @JamesAutoDude
      @JamesAutoDude 8 років тому +1

      Power Surge Money Not when they are crowded though. I still haven't gotten my permit because they wont send me the quiz due to "too many drivers".

    • @IamPowerSurgeOfficial
      @IamPowerSurgeOfficial  8 років тому +1

      thank you! i took the test right away when they told me i had to have the permit for lax this was probably during winter of 2015. i had no idea the website was so busy cuz of "too many drivers" being a such a big company uber should get that handled. especially since the whole course is about 30 minutes of time to take. the course you is very simple. its basically describing how to fold a wheel chair and that you are not allowed to say "blind" or "disabled" cuz thats not POLITICALLY CORRECT (lol) you must say "persons with disabilities" then you can print your airport permit

    • @JamesAutoDude
      @JamesAutoDude 7 років тому

      Power Surge Money It sucks because my wife signed up at the same time, and got the email not even a day later. But the girl I dealt with on that same day had computer issues and was just being stuck up, so I never got the email. So, I emailed Uber about it a few days after my wife got her email, they told me to be patient... Then after another week, I email them again, and that's when I'm told they are "too crowded" and that they don't know when that'll change and to again, be patient as it could be an indefinite thing >:[
