500i is such a menace of a saw! I can't wait till husky comes out with their 80cc classer.
When they do you know I’ll have to review it !

I'll keep my old MS460, it's simple and powerful. Very easy to fix and don't need a computer to do it. I like how the nuts stay on the cover of that 500 though. Good one Steve!

nice saw. i havent had the chance to try one yet but i hear the throttle response is insane. also, that 395 is a beast .. 2 awesome saws ..thumbs up !!
Yes I think he’s really happy with it . He was out cutting today and says he loves it . The 395 with a fresh bar and chain just drops through those big logs like butter. I need to get it back to where it belongs then do an up date video. Thanks for watching!
Stock 500i is pretty OK. once you get a muffler, bigger dawgs from (WCS) west coast saws and a full wrap bar it turns into a whole new beast. a ported and tuned 500i its like using one of them V8 chainsaws we all have seen on youtube
Sounds cool cuz it will still be pretty light to handle ! My buddy will never do all that . He keep’s everything he owns oem stock. He likes to watch that big saw stuff on UA-cam but that’s about it . Hey thanks for checking out the video!
That 500 does have some nice features and is pretty light for being so powerful. I thought you might pull out that battery powered unit you showed us before - do you still use it and like it? Always enjoy the videos, Steve.
Yes we still use the electric one all the time. My son has been cutting all of the smaller logs with it . He’s just now told me it needs to be sharpened. 😳. Thanks for watching!
Running with a loose chain will do the same thing & not cut straight & wear down one side of the bar, rail channel or groove.

Dealer is full of garbage, let it idle a minute or two then run it in the woood is the best breakin ever. Only use premixed fuel and saws will last alot longer. Just buy a light bar made for the Husky, adapters require bar mods to get theouler to aling,not worth it.
roflmao the stihl 461, 500i, 661 and 881 are not the saws some people claim they are , even when ported and tuned . not to mention the constant trips to the shop when they knock their selves out of whack and you have to pay to have them hooked back up to a computer and reset . another problem is the oiling systems . the new specs they have placed due to EPA regulations will cause your bar to gum up with fine saw dust because they actually dont oil the bar enough .if you are using them a couple hours a day and giving them breaks they are fine but running them continuously 12-14 hours a day, 7 days a week you will be lucky that they will last you 2 years tops. i have used every one of these saws after being ported and tuned and i can stall them out and kill them every time . they just cant compete with the 460, 660 and 880 stihls. since the 500i has come out i have went through 3 , stihl has had to replace them at their own expense because the problem every time has been due to their oiling system and the severe computer problems . the 461's and 661's are even worse when it comes to the computers.

Well with ported or tuned its the same as cars.... you are using them outside of their designed limitations so thy will break faster. I am shure if you use them as a stock saw the way the manufacturer prescribes it is good enough for professional work.🤷♂️
