I’ll tell you how tuff Honda 5 speeds are,I was driving my 92 Civic Si hatch with 440 thousand kms on it in the winter in -42 Celsius. Went through deep snow and then didn’t run it for a week because I was in a pipeline camp. When I drove it the next week, the ice packed around the cv axle and tranny and tore the seal apart,I heard the ice break as I drove away. I noticed oil all over the firewall that day but thought it was power steering fluid for some reason. Over a year later I found the whole seal was gone and only about a third of a litre was in the transmission, drove it probably 20 thousand kms like that. Fixed the seal, topped er up and was good to go,no noise or anything 😎
i walked to work for 9 years until i finally could afford a car again, bought a used '07 hyundai elentra (manual), roughly 47,000 miles. truck shop that sold it to me sold it with the following: broken e-break cable, e-brakes were ceased permanently had to replace them, had to replace all break pads and rotors, ceased front right caliper, car was making a weird sound on turns after 6 months of driving at new job I found out the front left suspension coil was no longer connected to the shocks anymore and freely rotated as you turned the wheels so I had to replace both front suspension shocks, I also had to take it back to the shop a couple days after buying it because the gas cap mounting on the floor board was completely rusted off and broken. I could no longer fill my car with gas. paid 4400$ for a car with 47,000 miles tho - all in all I got fucked so hard because I didnt know enough about cars. What finally made me trade the car in even tho I loved that car after fixing all the stupid shit was the throw out bearing on the clutch was bad made a constant rattling noise when running especially out of gear/ neutral. Now I have a 2015 ford f150 and I honestly wish I had that car back and kept fixing her up because the gas mileage i was getting on that thing was in the high 30s for some freakin reason. just doing simple math I think 38 mpg. I miss having a manual more than anything. fucking automatics suck. I hate them. also paying new car price for a used truck sucks ass. on top of my mother's cancer I'm now negative on equity on the car. owe 14,000 on a truck worth 9,000 watching your videos really makes me wish I appreciated owning a low mileage engine car despite it's flaws. I could have easily continued to improve on that car and been in better financial state now too. I know people knock on the hyundai and the older elantras but I almost wonder if they'd be good drift cars because of how easy to work with they are and light weight. anyway sorry for rambling. I just feel for this guy cause you really cant trust any random joe. Need to go to a good mechanic or someone who knows what they are doing.
In Australia we have the “excel racing series” where we race 1994-2000 hyundai excels, I have been eyeing up the elantras since I got my excel. I can’t help but wonder if the elantras will eventually have their own series too, it seems viable considering parts prices are almost the same
@@modernspartan98 I just wish that hyundai would take their manual cars more serious and get a proper 6 speed. asian cars just seem to be built better than american anymore. i watched a video of an expo in tokyo the other day and holy fuck is toyota and honda and suzuki miles ahead of america. literally hundreds of models that not only outperform american made and they last longer mileage wise. suzuki makes these stupid little trucks that EVERYONE LOVES because they last like 2 million miles.
Every time they get under one of these with all the missing bolts and can't help but wonder how many of them would make it down a PA state route before the bottom falls out lol
Forgot, you had a UA-cam channel. Been watching the TikTok videos. Cannot believe this car made it into the shop by driving it. Lol ❤ Keep up the good work, love the content.
I love your content and channel so much. EVERY car that you show, is just a WTHF WAS THEY THINKING!? i wrench on my own vehicles doing thinks that i know hot to do, but Jesus H Christ!, i at least know you have to bolt the Transmission to the freaking ENGINE!
Great video, ya’ll are great mechanics! But just a bit of constructive criticism for the editor…perhaps just silence the part of the sentence where they swear. Those quacks will drive someone up the wall lol
What I want to know is why the gear that's connected to the transmission is exposed that way? For some reason I feel like the transmission was installed upside down even though I'm pretty sure that's not possible.. obviously not a gear head so definitely open to a teaching moment.
deff not possible, and usually has a little cover, but like everything else its missing. In a auto thats the torque convertor you see, in a stick shift it would be the flywheel.
Bro I had to drop my transmission pan on my pickup to drain the oil and swap the filter. Putting it back in I snapped my last bolt, and I was scaaared driving it back from a DIY shop as it was closing time. This thing tho.. I needa get rid of my RAM, get me a JDM car
I made that mistake of a honda with no oil years ago. Weird i never smelt or saw smoke though in my case as the cat somehow got hot enough to burn it all, threw a rod in the end sadly. It runs strong though with the new motor years later! Also ironic the transmission went then a week later so my wallet was crying in the end
When he said score looking under the hood. Thought he found the elusive 10mm socket.
Me too lmao it's always a score finding a 10mm
8:49 “score!” and when he pulled out the bolt with a smile i died laughing 😭😭 the atmosphere in this shop is something i envy so much !
This car was held on with hopes and dreams
Yeah the power of dreams
@@anggasetiawan9119 that will not die cuz it keep rolling & rolling unit it quits when it wants to
Average Honda activities

The reason there's a nuts n bolt bucket in every auto repair shop. Priceless 😂. Did u charge him by the bolt or the hour.

Props to how you guys deal with all the mess that rolls through your doors. Not sure how half these people haven’t died from the crap they are driving
Maximum efficiency, only the necessary bolts!
Real testament to how good them Hondas are! No bolts, no oil, no problem!

Im going to become wealthy and buy cars just so i can bring them to this shop. Then to PFI... letssss gooo !!!
Do they not have state inspections in California?
Ask myself that on every car I see them working on, like that Tacoma that was literally missing an engine mount
Should be a fee for making the team worry asf lol!
