Yeah, now lets see how it shoots. Should drive tacks, if done right.

      Yep it did.
I sold it to a subscriber who contacted me with an offer i couldn’t refuse. He was going to use it for PRS Rimfire matches which is ideal for this rifle.

Great video. Thanks for posting it. I'm currently working on my fv. Home trigger job and got a boyds pro varmint stock. It fit awful. Actually tripped the firing pin when I closed the bolt. Did alot of sanding and took care of that. Got wood pieces epoxy in. Got pillars in today. I actually added wood to the front pillar location so to be able to put in pillars in both places. This is my first bedding job so hopefully it comes out right. Thanks again for knowledge.

      AWESOME!
Sounds like you are well on your way to improving your savage. I appreciate the comment, so thank you and let me know how it shoots!

@@inrangerimfire20two got it done. Appearance wise I'm very happy. However it doesn't shoot as good as it did with the plastic stock. Still toying with ammo brands since it doesn't like what I was shooting anymore. Strange. Thinking about trying a bolt shim later. Oh also messed with screw torque a little didn't seem to make a difference though. Thanks again for the great videos.

      @@jimmierey2545 interesting..
The ammo issue sometimes happens with a major mod like stock swap and pillars. As for the poor accuracy, that one is a little more unusual. Sometimes a pressure pad in the barrel channel is worth a try on a Savage

Aluminum C channel epoxied in the bottom to reinforce the stock is the way to go , and bed the action as you normally would, no need for the action screw stubs to touch on the bottom, been there done that it does not work.

Hi Sir. Looking to buy the SAVAGE MK II, but cannot make a choice between FV - .22LR, 21" and FV-SR - .22LR, 16.5". Could you be so kind to explain why your choice is TR - .22LR, 22", and why you did not get FV - .22LR, 21" or FV-SR - .22LR, 16.5". Much appreciated for any provided information in advance.

      Thanks for the comments.
I have owned all of the models you mentioned over the years and the TR would be my hands down choice due to the Boyd’s stock. The FV-SR and the FV share the same plastic stock which is the worst ever synthetic stock in my opinion. The FV-SR and the TR both have fluted barrels and tactical bolt handles as well. The FV is an excellent choice if you are on a budget and they shoot extremely well, but the stock is useless

Many thanks for quick response. I simply don't know what are differences between them, and need some explanations. Didn't find any comparison info online. Is the long barrel better? Why? What are pros of long vs short and vice versa? Are the receivers different between all 3 of them?

@azbogivediglagoli4759, there are no differences between the recevers. Longer barrels will slow the bullet down sometimes resulting in a better group. 22lr usually burns all of its powder in 16 inches.

Please tell me what type of bolt handle/knob that is on your rifle. I would like to add one to mine.

      Hey there,
It is the stock one on the Savage model TR and the FVSR. They are not interchangeable due to the headspace off the bolt handle lug, but you could make it work if you had one. If it was me I would just cut and thread the bolt handle of a stock MK2 for an aftermarket of my choice and be done with it
