If you want to shim the bolt, where does it go?
Hey there, it goes in the same location as it does on a Brno/45x series, in between the bolt handle and the bolt body
very accurate .....see my videos knocking ram silouethe 41 m one by one....with this old hw80. ua-cam.com/video/UQGnAjMag7M/v-deo.html
BRASS! USMC…. They know what I mean.
lol, I have no idea what you mean, but perhaps that is because I’m Canadian, eh?
Yeah, same thing happened to me when I first started shooting it and I come from a Lapua .22lr background and I was still blown away
Me - NO buggerra fan what so ever, however, this shooter is very well disciplined in trigger & bolt manipulation......he remained on the trigger till spotting shot & didn't chamber & close bolt till on target - Great shooter !!!
Welllllllll, the shooter is actually a pretty special person and is not only an amazing shooter, but an amazing human as well. He not only is a high level shooter, but a match director, range officer and match designer as well. Too bad he shoots such a crappy rifle…
I discovered SK long range match earlier this year. Coming from someone who has only shot CCI his entire life, my mind was absolutely blown.
@@inrangerimfire20twoBooo!! Space guns are awesome hahaha!! You're way too kind, buddy! I'm just an ape that gets a lucky string once and a while. And thank you, too, ericrumpel3105... I do the best I can, and once in a while it works out!
How did you mount your bag under the forend like that? New to the hobby thanks
Hey there, it isn’t my rifle, but he is using an Area 419 Arca system and if I remember the bag is a Cole-Tac
I enjoy this. I need to do this but the piston of the Diana model 22 (1938) I want to get up and running doesn't have a screw, rather it's riveted. So perhaps I can put a double layer of leather on then boil it in situ so it shrinks to fit? 🤔
The riveted pistons have some challenges for sure, I normally drill and tap and then use a screw to reinstall a new leather washer, but if you do not have that capability, you can usually just remove the old seal and reinstall a leather new one with a washer and hammer it to fit.
Looks like a fantastic rifle and shoots like a house on fire, enjoy! So what happened with your Savage MkII TR project? I have kind of a love/hate relationship with MkIIs myself, but always fascinated by them.
Man, it’s a bucket list rifle for me, so I’m literally stoked everytime I see it. lol! The TR project? Well, a subscriber messaged me and asked if we could make a deal on it and well, we did. He had plans to shoot It in PRS matches. I think savages are untouchable in the value for accuracy division. The only issue I have is when you add a nice stock (Boyd’s) etc you may as well get a turnkey CZ and never look back. What MK2 do you have?
@@inrangerimfire20two I've had a slew of them ranging from the basic sporter with wood stock, a BTV, two FV-SRs (different times), and finally an FVT and a BV. Still have the last two, and they shoot almost as well as my 457 with a varmint barrel. Not remotely close for refinement, but still somehow very satisfying to shoot. Really enjoy the channel, hope all's well with you.
Are these available?
Wellllll, I made it, if that’s what you are asking
@@inrangerimfire20two Did you make enough of them to sell one?
Good shooting, quite honestly - my gruesome savage a22 precision can do that at 50Y, if not - close to it, so, what I am saying is, atleast imo, is - 100Y is truely the only test that matters & my POS scrapvage a22 pissicion with that gruesome-POS trigger that some weirdodumbass designed with that blade-thing that is as worthless as tits on a bull is a scattergun at 100Y no matter the ammo, muzzle device, loony-tuner thingy........& when you bore scope that bore - I am sure it was hammerforged out of a casted-blank, in india, or, philadelphia, using a broken drill bit as a mandrel, then hand-lapped using "steel-bed" sold by the original schmucks - brownholehells, out of farmer-pud Iowa, to fill the voids in the nasty cast-iron barrel......lol.....I'm betting my description of the bore is not far off if you seen the bore-scope video.......lol.....anyhow - hoping to see some 100Y groups soon - Thanks fer sharing & seeing your videos lately again.
Hahah! Excellent and all true, but a Savage while accurate is no where near as pretty… Thanks for the laugh too!
Great video 📹, nice vertical groups it shoots all the ammo very well 👍.
Great to see you back at the range....Nice Group, Broop!
Nice accuracy. Arken good scope?
I have not found better or more reliable for the price
Excellent!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very pleased with my Anschutz too. Super accurate and reliable, i never had an issue. Cheers!
Right on
Oh man! The conditions were not ideal for this session but I got it done with some respectable groups despite some wind and blazing sun! Thanks to all who comment. -Dan
Beautiful rifle brother!
Thanks brudda! How you been?
Oh interesting! That would definitely work and would cut down on the time the seal would take to dry from being wet
I can't verify if its right but I've been told that they originally boiled the leather in oil before pressing it into the seal mould to make them in the factory. Great idea for reproduction method though.
I have had some older Leathermans and was gifted a Gerber for Xmas one year. Since that year I've been a Gerber fan over the Leatherman offerings.
Tell you what... when I saw you were doing a video about "leatherman" this is NOT what I was expecting.... having said that, love Luke's EDC! Nice kit!
I've got a bunch of Leatherman's but I find all but the smallest ones just to heavy or to big to carry. They always end up as part if a kit or stored elsewhere.
You are Mr. Gerber
I ain’t no gerber lol
So, I have not heard of the “5193” trigger in a 1710 repeater personally and am unfamiliar with a “5193” trigger in general. I have seen a 5001(x) series DST trigger on a 54 repeater and it is exactly the same as the one i featured in my 64 DST video. It is an excellent hunters style trigger that does not disappoint. In my opinion the single stage 5096 with a simple $1.00 spring swap is far superior though.
Nice rifle what year is it thanks
Thank you. Date code is KK, so 99, but it is a West-German wing safety model
@@inrangerimfire20two I have a Savage Anschutz 1982 which is identical to your model except that mine has the Savage trigger unit much the same as a Mauser trigger. I have a spare trigger unit which came out of an early (1970s) match 54 target rifle which I was looking at fitting to the Savage Anni. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Regards
The 54 Match action (single shot) triggers are not a simple drop in to a 54 repeater. It is doable (sometimes not) but it takes some fitting. You may be better off selling off your 54 match trigger and purchasing a new trigger for the repeater. Mine has the 5096 trigger and with the spring swap I did it is literally all I need period. It is that good!
@@inrangerimfire20two thanks for the info, I note that some of the 1710s had a 5193 trigger, any comment ?
It's a Anschutz, of course it's a shooter, but where is the freaking target?
Copy That ..... on both.....& I can't stand the suspense !!!!!!!!!!!
Where is the snow. No snow . Shorts only
Anschütz FTW!
What a beauty, I can’t wait to see that thing in person, the wood is amazing
As usual. Excellent review
High praise and I sure do appreciate it! THANK YOU
Nice optic
Thanks! I’m so far pleased with my choice
Nice setup, can't wait to see it shoot...........................
First thing that jumped out at me was those action screws… can I try it???
Try it? lol, you can have it! I knew you would focus in on my poorly finished action screws! I need to be better…
@@inrangerimfire20two hail yas!
I have them in everything else but I have not put shims in my newly acquired BRNO 4 thanks for reminding me. I am a big believer.
Yeah, they are literally as good as claimed and that is rare from any product across any industry. Combine that with a first rate company and you have a stellar reputation in the making for sure.
Sexy beast aint she?!!
Unmatched & unmatchable quality, all though, hats off to any company from any place in the world for ever trying to duplicate/replicate the fine quality of any German, or even European, designed & manufactured rifle, because, if somebody is gonna try to copy, then copy the best right.....lol......not the cheap crap so prevalent in America,....unfortunately......Thanks fer sharing that BEAUTIFUL - PRECISION Machine.....that takes on a piece of artwork in of itself. You have great taste in rimfires. ABSOLUTE Gem !!
Perfectly said my friend
Its a beauty,
She sure is pal! Thank you
Nice rifle, but I don't believe the stock is original. Those old wing safety Anschutz's had the more desirable petite schnabel forend tip, yours looks like a later production stock. Still a lovely rifle.
Hey thanks for the comment. I do believe it is original as there are plenty of pictures of these on line with the WS. The ones you are thinking of had the old style barrel lug for the rear sight. That one has a much smaller (and more elegant) “bulge” of the stock. Don’t forget, they made the wing safety up until 2009, so the stock design had many years to change. Thanks a lot for the interest!
That’s sick dude
Doesn’t smell either
Been wanting one like that since 1988, but finding one and having the cash has never coincided. This is from the era when they made proper guns from wood and steel! ua-cam.com/video/S2jjl0fjB6E/v-deo.html
It’s been the same for me.
Very Nice, should be great once you get it all tuned up!
Yep, can’t wait! Too bad It’s fire season
Installed bolt shims on my Brno Mod 2 E ( 1987 ) after watching one of your older videos! It improved the accuracy considerably, even though it was already a shooter . The shims would of taken some time to get to South Africa, so I got a friend to bring them back with him after a holiday in the states 🇺🇸. Definitely a worthwhile & inexpensive mod !!
Wow! Soo awesome to hear. I absolutely believe that shims are a game changer on an older Brno and Triggershims makes such a quality product for such a modest price, I can’t think of a better upgrade
Thanks fer sharing.
I'm using the yellow shim in my CZ 452. It shoots very well and I'm very pleased with it. The service from Triggershims is excellent. Lance is a top bloke.
Did you measure its thickness?
I did not due to the performance of the rifle being the same. In my case I would be able to tell as it is used so much.
Good review. Shims are high quality. And grease is the ticket
Yeah, grease is the ticket and the higher quality the better
15 second jump, get an exstended bipod w swivel mout on the gun. No need for tripod, saves time allows much faster engage.
Yes, a competitive shooter completing a rooftop stage of a PRS rimfire match.
What is this supposed to be. Just a rooftop shooter
