I have the same rifle but non-Walmart and not threaded. I zero at 100 yards with CCi TnT 17 gr and get 1 inch-ish five shot groups. All other factory ammo and the groups open up quit a bit. The rifle will shoot beyond three hundred yards accurately with just a little wind..
The TNT 17 gr is the most accurate in my old Marlin 17V with rounds touching at 100 yards. Second is the A-17 from CCI Followed by the Hornady 17. The original Marlin 17 is much underrated. It originally came with a Green Mountain, Air gauged Barrel as Marlin failed to be able to produce the barrels in their micro groove system and were under a time restraint to be able to deliver them as per contract with Wally world, or so the story goes. Trigger sucked, but that is curable. ;
I sighted mine for 100 as well. Shoots very flat so no need to do it any closer. I also was watching the shooting in my video and the gun barely moves when it's fired!!
Cool video, thanks. I also am a born and raised Phx. boy. I did live in Dallas Ft. Worth for about 5 years because of work, but I live back in the Surprise area now. Used to go out to I10 and Miller Road, but some girl got killed by a stray bullet and now they have big cement blocks over the dirt road so you can't get a standard vehicle through anymore. I have to go a little further out now, but still, plenty of public desert land to go shooting. Maybe I'll see ya at one of the indoor ranges sometime. God bless bro.
@@DesertLongRange I live in Surprise so there are many ranges in the Phx. area. I take from your comment that you kinda live out in the sticks (I envy you so much). Hopefully, one day soon, I will be able to semi-retire and live where my closest neighbor is no closer than a 1/4 mile from my property line. Shooters World has a few stores with really nice indoor ranges. Then there is Ben Avary outdoor range where you can shoot skeet or a different section up to 100 meters and then they have a long range area that is 1000 meters for long range. Another range out between Buckey and Gila Bend is pretty nice. I actually prefer to just go out in the desert and shoot with a small mountain for my backstop. Hope that helps. God bless bro.
I have been to Ben Avery a few times, specifically for the Expo they hold yearly. I have been wanting to do some skeet shooting and the closest facility to me is the Rio Salado Sportsman's Club. So I will probably work my way over there eventually. But you are right I do live out in the sticks for the most part, it has it advantages and disadvantages just like everywhere else though.
I have the same exact gun i absalutly love it i dont shoot with a supreser shoot tthe same bullet pretty accurate no complaint but i tried the A17 cci varmit tip 17 grain they come in a box of 200 rounds for 60 bucks i can put 5 shots in a 2 inch circle at 100 those are my hunting rounds the vmax are pretty close with accuracy but i love the gun nice review and video i would say its a red stock I also got mine at Walmart also they had the 22lr rifle same stock same make zombie green stock 5 shot groups in a dime at 50 yards shooting cci standard velocity 22s
What are you using to measure those groups? I use a digital caliper to measure my groups, and I measure from the centers of the two most distant holes. The reason I ask is because those groups look WAY bigger than what you've measured them to be.
@DesertLongRange I'm running hornady factory load 40gn. It shoots very tight groups with it but when I eventually run out I may switch over to hand loads.
This is a really nice and helpful channel
Thank you I appreciate the long term support that you have given

I will have to pick up some CCI rounds. How much do they cost?
@@DesertLongRange $20 for 50 rounds
@@Ryder276 I will keep an eye out for them the next time I am out. Thank You.

Just sighted mine at 100 yards with the Hornady V-MAX and achieved similar results. A very hot and accurate round with little to no recoil.

Hey Sky, thanks for the comment. Down where I live they are turning everything into a solar farm. What indoor ranges do you go to?

Also, it's somewhere in between red and pink. Very unique color. Good looking rig!
I measure center to center as well. The reason it looks further apart is because the holes are so small with a 17 hmr
I have the same one where did you get the suppressor from I’m looking for one for mine
Mr Silencer in mesa, az
What’s the thread on the barrel?
1/2x28 you thinking bout getting one?
I'm up to 510 yards on a ground hog but with a 204 ruger.
What grain bullet are you using?
