    I am new to your channel, and old enough to be your mother. 🙂 I was very encouraged and convicted by what you shared here. Thank you. It is very refreshing to see a young woman/wife/mother with such wisdom and who is willing to learn from others and also pass along what she has learned. I pray God’s continued blessing on you and your dear family.💕

    I used to be the same- deliberately getting offended by every little thing my then boyfriend/fiance said- spoiling what was supposed to be a good time, causing unnecessary drama etc. I'm surprised he married me. God has helped me change my heart- praise Him for his mercy!!!

    I know this is an old video but I just stumbled upon your channel and I love it! Love your perspective and honesty. I’ve been married 11 years and we have 4 children. We have a great marriage but I definitely struggle with being overly critical at times. This was so encouraging. And honestly, sometimes when I’m in my bubble of frustration or disappointment, I will pause for a moment and picture what it would be like to have lost him, and I immediately go from self-centered resentment to gratitude and appreciation for the kind, loyal, and hardworking man I married. Perspective is everything! ❤

    I love your openness to allow you to see your husband as the unique person God created him to be. Only a wife that has prayed and received the grace to do this can be successful in this area. Praise God. ❤

    Always be thankful for everything. I lost my husband of 18yrs, 6yrs ago. It was hard but not as hard as losing my 25yr old son on his birthday 17mo ago. Thankfully my new husband and other 2 children are helping my through it all. We never truly know what we have until it's gone. I'm thankful that the last words I heard from both my husband and son were "I love you".

    I may not be a widow, but I did lose my dad at 19. It taught me that life is so very precious and time is not promised. So loving and cherishing the relationships and connections you have is the most important thing. Things that used to gross me out, bother, or annoy me about my dad I now miss so much and would give almost anything to experience again. What I learned from his passing I’ve taken with me in my life & relationships, and so I appreciate my fiancé so much and have loyalty towards those I love.
    I don’t take even the small things for granted. Even if when he gets home from the gym smelling like a teenage locker room drenched in sweat. We joke about how gross it is but I still let him hug me and I appreciate the reason behind why he smells and feels like that. He strives to be the best man he can be and takes care of himself to the best of his abilities. I know if I lost him it would be even things like this that I would miss so much.
    Even when we fight, after the fight is over we don’t keep it going or hold onto the feelings. (On the rare occasion we may but only for a day) usually after a big blow up we spend an hour or 2 separated to cool down then when we come together we calmly talk it out and apologize. Since you don’t know how much time you have with your person it’s never a good idea to keep a fight going longer then it needs to. Finding peace within yourself and each other is a much better option. When you lose someone you will always have regrets and wishes so the best you can do is keep your fights shorts, don’t hold onto negative emotions, tell them to be safe & tell them you love them every chance you get, lastly never say goodbye... say I’ll see you soon. Not only does it help you mentally if something were to happen but it also shows them how much you care.

    I was a filthy sinner that got knocked up and chose to NOT raise our child in a broken home. I dont live him, and its my biggest sin! listening to you talk about marriage always reminds me to pray harder and be prudent even tho its hard. I really enjoyed most of this video but some of it was a little concerning to me. We are our husband's helpers but I hope you don't let your husband control you. I could be very wrong but it almost sounds like you let your husband do whatever he wants and will allow him to tell you exactly what to do even down to what you're wearing, which sounds very nitpicky and controlling to me. If something you are wearing brings you joy and makes you feel good and it isn't revealing and still honors the Lord, I don't feel like he should be able to control what you wear like that. Like I said, I may just have the wrong idea but a couple things rubbed me the wrong way and made me worry for you. Other than that I really enjoyed hearing what you had to say and it was a beautiful video.

    • @BecauseitMatters
      @BecauseitMatters  4 роки тому +10

      Thank you for this comment. I really appreciate getting feedback. It sounds like I may have not explained myself correctly. My husband doesn’t try to control me in any area. He is extremely sweet and loves my feisty and independent side as well.
      While I don’t think this is at all something that all wives have to do, it personally would bring me more joy to know my husband loved my outfit then to wear something I liked but knew he hated, that being said, we also have very similar tastes so we usually like what each other wears, and I have been known to throw away things of his that I don’t like either. 😂
      I am in no way trying to encourage men to control their wives in anyway. I believe the “husbands love your wives as Christ loves the church,” every bit as much as the passages about a wife honoring and helping her husband.
      However I do try to speak only to women so I don’t often cover what men’s responsibilities are. Anything I do personally for my husband are things I have chosen to do on my own, but he has in no way tried to influence or control me in. He is not that type at all.
      Thank you for this comment!❤️

      @@BecauseitMatters I like your response. Society has changed and is pushing us to hate men. I love my husband and I obey him. Not because he's controlling, but because this is my way to obey God and receive God's love.
