That’s awesome. I was encouraged by these methods too. I am grateful for my mom and dad modeling many of these methods for me as a child. One thing I remember is that when my mom yelled or got angry in an unholy way, she was quick to apologize. She didn’t excuse my misbehavior, but explained that her reaction was wrong. That stuck with me. It was also a model for me to learn humility and quick repentance.

@@hannahdeforest9148 I was raised in a house of yellers and was never apologized to so I learned to be the same way. Now that I know better and try to parent biblically I do the same when I lose it. I repent then apologize. It’s so hard to unlearn this behavior. But I’m chugging through. 😩

Years later and even through death she is helping and encouraging young parents to this day, Her life, her daughter are in inspiration to us all thank you so much for wisdom and guidance. The testimony of this woman, the witness and sacrifices made for the furtherance of the Kingdom of Jesus is absolutely awe inspiring.

My then 15 year old daughter sang this at our wedding with our other then 4 blended children surrounding her. It was AMAZING! We raised 8 children, all adults, and still raising a 13 year old grandson.. I only wish my husband had kept growing in the Lord.. Please pray for Bud... thanks. God bless!
    I ADORE this woman!

What a rare thing today to be raised in this most beautiful way. Oh how I long to grow in my parenting. To honor God with my mothering and homemaking is my ultimate goal. I am so grateful to God for showing us that this model truly works if we will just submit to Him throughout the process. ✝🙏♥

I yelled a lot when my children were growing up. I wish this had been a video I could of watched or learned from. It was hard to be a parent or single parent. I wasn’t raised in love so I believe it made it difficult to raise my own. My children are grown up now with their own children. I do love them so much and know from my mistakes even now. It does help to raise your family when your living for Jesus. I’m thankful that God listens to my prayers over my children and grandchildren. That is so important. Especially today. Too many families have struggled with children being rebellious and either running away from home or on drugs. 😢. Thank you for sharing this video. I will share with my children. 😊❤

  • @dinahfox3287

Please, if you are reading this and feel discouraged that you are not enough as a parent because your child has misbehaved or rebelled in some way then know that the most perfect Parent ever had His children disobey. If God allows us free will, then he does so at the risk of them actually disobeying. You are not alone...God is in your company...and He gave his life even to bring them back...he did not give up on us. And you can not control your child anymore than He controls us. God wants willing obedience and he will wait for it. Don’t give up, keep doing your best and leaning on Jesus. “He gently leads those who have young...”

Thank you for this. I was raised in a Christian household with modeled behavior and the whole nine yards. Somehow I became a very impatient very disgruntled mother of three that finds it incredibly hard to find the joy in motherhood. Grinding through into 7 years soon and we're doing so much better but struggles are real.

Thank you very much for advice that is never outdated, because it is biblical. Many families have become weak and destroyed because of not taking old fashioned advice. Mrs. Elliot's advice is highly useful, and ought to be considered, especially by those who have not had this family experience. Yet, would like to. For women without husband's, it is possible. My mother used many of Mrs. Elliot's childrearing suggestions of discipline, Bible memorization, devotions in our living room and money management. My father left while we were very young children, yet we had her Christian guidance. Of course, we were not altogether perfect. As teens we challenged her.. And, as long as she lived, we were never too old in her eyes to be scolded for our conduct according to the Bible. I am daily grateful to her. Train a child in the way they should go, (according to scripture), and they shall not depart from it. This is God's promise.

Likewise wives, be subject to your own husbands that even if they do not obey the Word they will be won without a word by the conduct of their wives when they see your pure and respectful conduct.
It's a promise form the Word that if you are obedient to your husband the Lord WILL turn your husband's heart back to Him. Keep growing in your own faith and you will bear fruit as keeping with repentance. 💗

If not, seek His Salvation now, as Christ IS the ONLY way to Heaven and His return for we who are His own is imminent. This is excellent advice. I believe you may be a teen who has lost her way.. I pray that you seek Christ while there is still time and we are still under GRACE for the forgiveness of sins.

Valerie has a beautiful family. I'm guessing this was filmed in the early 90's? I am happily married to a godly man, but we haven't been blessed with children (yet). I am, however, a 5th grade teacher in a Christian school. I'm curious as to how some of this could be used in that arena (obviously, not the spanking, but other aspects addressed in this and part one).

Maybe she was nervous some people don't like cameras. This isn't christian fundamentalism it's bibical parenting. So many children are out of control even in christian homes.,

Can't say I agree with the spanking though I never have. Putting your kids in a cupboard and not allowing them to have their emotions is probably why the church has so many emotional issues.
Correction bis needed but some of this I think is a little bit out dated, although the principles do still apply.

I feel like the point was is don’t let your emotions get control of control. Emotions are there and we recognize them, but we can’t let them control you. A person who lets their emotions get out of control is a miserable person, I’ve been there. Crying is good, but when your sobbing loudly for hours? That’s not good.

Boys shouldn't clean. U can show them how to fold socks the right way and how to shake off, (outside or out of the window), their bed covers, and how to separate clothes, which should be shaken off dust and hair outside too, for washing. That is it.
Men are to be doing things greater like fighting evil in society, not have their time waisted splitting housework.
