This song never gets old. It's Awesome! You should have watched the video for this. Watching Elvin play guitar is mesmerizing. He's so great. Mickey Thomas is the lead singer on this song. He nailed it. What a talent!!
As many have commented, do yourself a favor and check out the live Midnight Special version of this song. I can't even describe why, but it's a fabulous version.
Just for the outfits alone it's worth watching.
Yes! Watch the Midnight Special version when you can. It’s a total vibe and Mickey Thomas knocks it out of the park singing it live.
@@NathanThurberMusic LOL!! So true, that denim jumpsuit is incomparable! 😂
You must , must see the live performance on Midnight Special ……you really must see Mickey Thomas deliver this vocal. Incomparable .
Elvin Bishop is known for blues work and never had another hit record than this song. Mickey Thomas went on to join Jefferson Starship 1979 band name changed to just Starship in 1984. He and Grace Slick were the main vocalists for the band for the next decade. Check out "Jane", "Find Your Way Back", "No Way Out", "We Built This City" and more of their catalog. Thanks.
Mickey Thomas is the vocalist not elvin , he went on to become the vocalist first Jefferson Starship and then starship. I think he still active. You should watch the live version. He sings so effortlessly at that time. Great video enjoy your reviews.
Mickey Thomas the lead singer is a top notch singer. Elvin is a great guitarist. I think Mickey is from Georgia. I could be wrong though from the Midnight Special.Mickey sings later with Jefferson Starship. Check out the song Jane.
Thomas spent most of the early 1980s as the main vocalist of Jefferson Starship, performing several duets with Slick (who rejoined in 1981) and gaining greater influence in the band. After Paul Kantner left in 1984, Thomas was leader of the band.....Thomas was born in Cairo, Georgia, on December 3, 1949.
mr thomas is from cairo georgia
Please check out the LIve version (Midnight Special) , you've got to see Mickey sing to get the whole experience . You'll love it even more, for sure. It's sóóó good.
I feel bad for everyone that didn't grow up in this era. We had the very best music ever made. The Bee Gees, REO Speedwagon Billy Joel, Eagles, Kansas, Loverboy, 38 Special, Survivor, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Starship, America, Toto, Def Leppard, Dire Straits, Chicago, Doobie Brothers, Meatloaf Queen, Kiss, Asia, Missouri, Heart, Pat Benetar, Joan Jett, Andy Gibb, Beach Boys, Eddie Money, and the list goes on and on and on. Best time ever to be alive. So grateful for these young people that have these reaction channels giving them the opportunity to hear real love songs and life songs. My hats off to all the great country artists too.
YES! Born in 1968, a Gen X'er. I feel sorry for the others too. We had our parents (Baby Boomers) songs and the songs we remember from the 70's, 80's and 90's. We had REAL music, not auto tune sh!t.
Elvin Bishop is not singing in this song. He is playing the guitar.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@!!
Uhhhh Journey!
Yeah we're all 60 + years old now.
You missed the 60s that brought blues mainstream.
The vocals on the live video are even better imo
Mickey Thomas the fantastic vocalist is originally from Cairo, Georgia. Elvin is on guitar. Thanks for the reaction!!!
He is the guitar player. 🎸 ELVIN didn't think his gravelly voice was suited for the song so he had backup singer Mickey Thomas sing it. Should do Midnight Special live version.
Mickey Thomas is a hell of a singer. Check out the band Starship that he was in. Sara, or Jane are both good ones.
the person singing is Mickey Thomas. He went on to be a big part of Jefferson Starship. Elvin is the guitar player.
Don't Pull Your Love · Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds is a great song to react to. Love when you feel the energy that a song can give off. Never change. ❤
Props for bringing Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds into the conversation. Such a great addition to any list of greatest artists
Seriously, I always thought this was Elvis .no sh!t. Also DON'T PULL YOUR LOVE OUT ON ME BABY. BABY,BABY FALLING IN LOVE.
Check out the live version of this on the midnight special 1976 Mickey shows out
GREAT LIVE VERSION OF THIS OUT THERE ON UA-cam. WORTH SEEING IT IS AWESOME. ELVIN IS WORTH A DIVE.
I've loved this song since I first heard it in 1976. I also loved watching your reaction to this song. Priceless! It was evident it struck the core of your soul just like it did to me when I first heard it in 1976. Witnessing your reaction was awesome. Thanks for doing this review. God Bless You Sir!
This is one of my all time favorite songs. The lead is magical. he's so in the pocket.
Elvin Bishop is the guitar player . Mickey Thomas , of the group Jefferson Starship , is singing . please do the song Jane , by Jefferson Starship with Thomas singing . trust us !
Yes!!❤
The guy singing lead is Mickey Thomas. He went on to sing with Jefferson Starship. He blows song, like Jane and Find your way back, up with his vocals. He was never fully recover his vocal talent.
You should really check out the 1975 live video of this song Elvin is playing guitar and Mickey Thomas who sang with Jefferson Starship is lead vocals.
I love this song so much. His voice and the music it’s just excellent! The lyrics are good and you can really understand where he’s coming from. Love it!
Now I need to go listen to Mickey sing Jane on Starship.
It is the perfect tune. Glad you started with the studio recording. You'll want to see the live version too for the jumpsuit and writhing backup singer. Lots of energy and fun.
Micky later sings in Jefferson Starship
Mickey Thomas is the singer. He went on to join Jefferson Starship. Alvin is the band leader and guitar player.
The video is way better.
There a live version you should check out. Put a name with a face.
It's Elvin's band . . . and he played the killer guitar solo. But Mickey Thomas did the vocal. He later sang with Jefferson Starship and Starship. You need to check Mickey out singing lead on "Jane" . . . GREAT!
He plays guitar the singer was Micky Thomas from Starship
Elvin is playing the guitar not singing the lead. A guy named Micky is singing. I don't remember his last name but someone will
I’m sure someone mentioned this, but Elvin is the lead guitar player. Mickey Thomas is singing. He was one of the singers for Jefferson Starship.
Such a good jam!❤
The singer is Mickey Thomas who later joined Jefferson Starship
Check the song Jane from Jefferson Starship
I grew up hearing yhis song for more than 45 yrs. A really great song.
Elvin wrote the song, is the guitarist on the solo. He decided he wasn't capable actually singing it and knew Mickey could do a great job. Still Elvin is a great artist on the guitar and has a nice singing style of his own.
Thanks for the memories Im 65 and this is a great old song
Wow .... I haven't heard Elvin Bishop in years and years! Thanks for your reaction! Love hearing all these songs from my past! This kind of music just plain makes you feel good!!!! I'm laughing so hard at your reaction! Don't judge all of us white people by a few that don't have soul! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
The 60’s and 70’s had all the talent.
You must hear the version from:
Miranda Lambert & Friends - Fooled Around and Fell in Love
(Country female artists) in the mix Elle King’s soulful voice will rip you wide…Oh, and she’s Rob Schneider’s daughter.
Mickey shows out when he joined starship on the song Jane. You won’t be disappointed.
You should watch the VIDEO of this live on The Midnight Special!!
Awesome reaction of my favorite song!!!!😊😊😊😊
Since you like the Blues, you may want to check out Tab Benoit. I love the song "Shelter Me" and "New Orleans Ladies", also "Darkness". When I play Darkness when I'm shopping, I've had people stop me to find out who sings it. I hope you check him out.
Loved hearing this one again one of my favourites incredible vocals and lead guitar,.... Check out Hooked on a Feeling by Blue Swede you'll love it 👍
I was first introduced to Elvin Bishop by Charlie Daniel’s!
great reaction @Anyhony!
Elvin is not the vocalist here, he plays the guitar. Mickey Thomas is the lead vocals.
Elvin Bishop played rhythm guitar behind Micheal Bloomfield in The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Try 'Born in Chicago'.
This is a great song to skate to!
Mickey Thomas right after this song came out went to Starship
Elvin does sing mostly on all of his songs and he is a good vocalist ..
I'm sure others have mentioned it but Elvin is the guitarist. The singer is Mickey Thomas.
Evlin Bishop was the guitarist. The singer micki can't think of his last name damnit. But he also became the singer for Jefferson starship.
Great song. Please react to Living Eyes and Wedding Day by the
Bee Gees.
Mickey Thomas!!
I love your sense of humour! (spelling it with an extra 'u'. Just can't help it, lol, it's how we spell it here). Greetings from New Zealand. 😀
One Bourbon One Scotch One Beer by George Thorogood ft. Elvin Bishop
Great reaction
Yes that one is definitely worth checking out.😂❤
Check out early Starship. Mickey Thomas is lead singer.
nah, this is Mickey Thomas on vocals. You would have to get on the Jefferson Starship journey to hear the best of his stuff.
Now you got to give a listen to Mickey Thomas....". Jane" your going to love this one just as much.
Awesome song, love your reactions ❤
Yeah, lead singer does not necessarily mean leader of the band. It's a great song. Thanks for reacting to it. (via ReacTrax)
Mickey Thomas can belt a song.
Elvin Bishop is not only the lead guitarist and band leader here, but also the lead singer/guitarist of WILD CHERRY---------(Play that funky music White Boy).
Mickey Thomas (from Jefferson Starship) sings lead here, stretching his vocal talents in great form. Elvin adds just the right amount of blues to this sweet love song.
This is from 1980ish. Wild Cherry had just split, and Jefferson Starship had not started yet.
This reaction takes me back to your reaction to Ball and Chain by Janis Joplin!!!! THEE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!
Love this song and your reaction. You need to hear " Love Alive" and "Sing Child" by Heart. Heart has about 500 great songs so its hard to pick just one. I can recommend 100 more of the best ones.😂❤
You NEED to react to LOVE IS ALVIE by Gary Wright! His biggest song was DREAM WEAVER, also a Big hit.
Enjoy U fella.
I just happened upon you tonight, great reaction, as you say you like blues and soul I would strongly recommend you check out Gary Moore, he absolutely can make his guitar cry , Still got the Blues for you, Midnight Blues, so many to choose from
You have fantastic taste.
I loved your reaction (and dancing) to this! Great song right!
"Find Your Way Back"
Beth Hart -"Babe I'm Gonna Leave You"(Led Zeppelin Cover)
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Since you like Mickey Thomas vocals go listen to Jane by Jefferson Starship
The singer is Mickey Thomas
I saw him at tha Antioch fairgrounds in the 70’s
I like rock my soul
You are very funny. Great reaction and great song. You are not stupid, both artist were well known.
The live/original video version is even better, it loses a lot when you can't see him perform.
Check out Spend Some Time by Elvin Bishop. Mickey Thomas sings his heart out.
My dad has this song on a record
Travelin’ Shoes
👍👍
Listen to Micky Thomas on Jefferson Starship song ' Jane '. It will not disappoint!
Great song!
Mickey Thomas singing
Try listening to Jane from Starship.....his next band
Strutin my stiff and Stealin Watermelons are two good songs of his.
Did you go to Bowie State? In MD? Dude I grew up in Bowie.
You need to watch them do this live! Elvin Bishop wasn't the singer. Mickey Thomas really made this song great!
Check it out Live. Deep Rabbit Hole
You want to hear some great old shit, react to Todd Rundgren Hello Its Me such a great fing song!!!
It's too bad reactors always pick the one song of Elvin's that I don't think a lot of. He has so many great tunes! Funkier and more country bluesish. Or his earlier blues rock. I prefer his funky stuff.
React to Paul Butterfield he plays a mean harmonica
Here is a live video from the way back if you want to see them perform this song. ua-cam.com/video/0MtX1-i6Zu8/v-deo.htmlsi=ubtSw3GCYoMOyOq9
Headphones?!😮😊
Unrelated. Have you done any Steve Miller band?
Excellent suggestion
Don't go into his personal life. It's sad and none of it is down to him. He's a hell of a player and plays with all sorts of great groups. And has songs dedicated, and written, about him.
Took over for Slick, she lost her voice in '85 ?
Song is about his ex wife . Her and his daughter were both murdered . So sad
I read that it was about this: Upon its release in 1976, the song, telling the tale of how a man’s womanizing ways come to a halt when he falls in love, went to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Is that not true? My husband who passed on in 2019 loved this song and he used to sing it at me when it came on the radio. I always think of him when I hear it.
Please dear sir...always, always find a video. You miss the passion of the artist.
LP Laura pagoli Lost On You live.
