So you disabled your Windows Defender? What is the point then, why would anyone disable it in the first place?
I don’t quite understand the question to be honest. Memz gets detected by Defender. Memz was used to demonstrate that an executable can be downloaded and runned without any input of the PC owner. I mean if the Hacker/Cheater has its own malware whatsoever wich is FUD you wouldn’t need to disable defender at all.
@@xyos1337 Oh I didnt know that. I am actually not a Cyber security expert, so what you said makes alot of sense haha -- just a preview maleware to prove RCE. Thx for the education
Dude i was already thinking about buying MW3, any tips in how i can play it on windows 11?, cause i crave to play the survival mode again
Best way to prevent this is to run it in a vm (I use VMware) and if it does get infected you can roll it back.
I believe both AlterWare and Plutonium have updated clients for MW3, which fix exploits
You can play single player no problem
Is Battlefield 3/4 and PunkBuster also vulnerable?
"A Directory Traversal Attack on Punkbuster Server can be Leveraged to Gain Remote Code Execution (CVE-2020-24102, CVE-2020-26037)"
battlefield has been updating some of the older games with the new AC
@@Kenfuy Thanks but that vulnerability is quite old and was patched right away, even before public publication I think. And it also did _not_ affect player installations (only the server was affected).
@@toquita3d Im unaware of any current publicly known rce's on bf3/4/hard-line. Obviously they may exist but public info is mostly just the 2010 bf2/2142 vulnerability and the 2020 punkbuster vulnerability (without using way back and reading old modding forums). The latter could be used to exploit RCE on clients not just servers.
How is this still for sale?
calc.exe, the hacker's Hello World :)
Also MEMZ 💀
will this happn if the pc has memory isolation and encrypted drives all the security from windows set to high?
videoo ?
Why hasn't valve taken these games down
Call of Duty makes Valve a lot of money so they won't get rid of those games. Unless someone sues Activision
What if i use sandboxie, am i safe?
That would stop things from damaging your files etc and even prevent system shutdowns. Still recommended to use a VPN if you're wanting to fully protect yourself and block off access to your chrome/discord/etc data folders in case any stealers run but other than that you should be fine.
@SmilerRyanYT no a VPN will not help, the network packets would still reach you. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to play multiplayer
Now I know how I was hacked
Running it on Linux via Proton is safer?
Wine is not a sandbox.
I miss playing these games on xbox and was thinking of getting them on pc. Would it be safe only playing single player?
if you unplug your ethernet and disable networking and get hacked after doing those steps, I'd be damned
If you're interested in only Single player campaign and maybe Spec Ops, Survival, etc., just pirate these games, with full DLCs, through torrenting from trusted scenes.
Of course pirating also has its own difficulties and issues, but as long as you search and double check stuff properly, you should be alright.
I think on the games with separate single player exe, you should be fine. Just don't open the mp/zombies exe
are campaign and spec ops safe on mw2/mw3
yes
Didnt they patch mw2 this summer for this?
not really
They added an exe to the game files named CodCleaner that was implemented to assist in stopping a specific way that hackers were using to send worms around to other players PCs
interesting video idea, lets see if its an interesting video
edit: very good video Eric thanks.
technically you don't need to 'hack' a server to perform RCE. server has to be dumb enough to pass your stuff to other players, but can you really consider that a hack? you don't get control of the server, you just exploit client's vulnerability
00:56 he said it's peer to peer, means not all stuff goes through server
@@RandomGeometryDashStuff yes but I'm taking about what he wrote on the screen
@@Wolterhonwhen?
Stay Safe online everyone.
