How the heck you guys did this is beyond me! I recently started indoor bouldering, and sometimes that gives me the fear of heights - Really enjoying your videos!
Cracking vid lads. My traverse attempt last month looked rather different to yours 😂 ! Thanks for ALWAYS bringing the fun. Hope you had some celebratory post ridge beers at the sligachan 🤟
In all seriousness-no-one should attempt this without guidance or proper safety equipment. I mean I get that most of us can guess that these guys have a lot of experience-but there ought to be some warnings on here. If someone watches this on youtube and thinks it would just be a bit of a laugh-they could end up in serious trouble. Sorry to be a grouch. Enjoyed the video.
I agree, you shouldn't attempt this without guidance (if inexperienced) or proper safety equipment (if necessary). We didn't use ropes because we are comfortable on that terrain and well within our ability level - using ropes would have slowed us down, however to most climbers a rope/climbing gear would be a very wise addition - I did say that in the film. We also had a map and GPS so we knew where we were at all times. We joked around because that's in our nature, but we did take it seriously as we attempted it. I feel the video did get that across in places, but maybe we should have placed a cautionary point. I'll add it to the description :) Thanks for the comment
@@RobbiePhillips Great. Thanks for the prompt response. Was worried about seeming a killjoy. But as someone much less skilled I’ve seen some of that terrain up close-and with those less skilled (like me!) its potentially deadly. Still very much enjoyed the vid. And was impressed!
I’m sure one day you’ll get there. The cuilin is physically enduring, but not super hard climbing. And it’s more of a mental game as it can be quite exposed in places
I would recommend both a rope and porridge, but if I could only take one, I’d take the porridge because you can probably get through any serious situation with a bowl of porridge.
Ha, I witnessed the now-famous "head-twatting at the top of the staircase" incident on Bidein Druim nan Ramh. Took me a little while to work out why I recognised you Robbie! Sorry you didn't get the record, maybe next time.
whats the song at the start? im assuming its in Gaelic coz it doesnt sound familiar but either way id love to know who it is, really like it! havent watched the rest of the video yet :)
Hawaiian shirts and scrambling, what a combination! Great video, thanks for the laughs. Out of interest did the record team use any protection for the climbing sections? I can imagine having teams of assistants in key places with food and kit would speed it up but 3 hours is just ridiculous.
It’s British slang for “a bit of a lad/good looking/got the chat/ladies man” - Michael likes to think of himself as one, but he’s a kept man these days 😂
Those were the Scarpa Zodiac - in hindsight they are too heavy duty for fast moving over that sort of terrain. I’d have preferred something lighter like the Cruxes or Mescalito
Awesome video as per usual however it’s time I commented on your eating for those of us who suffer from misophonia there are parts that become truly unbearable other than that great stuff!!!
Love it man you are living my dream being sponsored by porridge
What is life without porridge 🥣 #NotWorthLiving 😂
Apparently Sugar Puffs Honey Monster and Tony the Tiger had to withdraw....
can we all just agree that Robbie has the BEST climbing shirts? I am considering getting a shirt like that for my trip this weekend.
Haha! People always told me I lacked style... UA-cam fam have proven them wrong 👊🤣
@@RobbiePhillips can't argue with all this evidence!
Dude, the map thing on the video was absolutely brilliant Haha. Thanks again for the content 🙌🏼.
Yeah I loved that too 🙌 cheers dude!
Can’t wait to see the videos with pete and randall!
Sooooooooon!!!! 😜🤙
In a week and a half. Hold tight 💪
This has quickly become my favourite channel on YT. Top craic and bold manoeuvres! Love it!!
This New Lord of The Rings trailer has too much wind.
it pushed us up the ridge! :P
I actual have terminal wind 😂
yet another quality video Robbie , keep em comin
Thanks for this awesome video!
We need more close-ups on Culann masticating.
🤣 I mis-read that for a moment

Haha 😂 thanks man! Did you complete it?
What amazing scenery!!

Haha no worries! It was a fair point.
Great video guys!
Damn kool, wish I had the strength to do that right now. I'm building up to do things like that in the future :) inspiring guys thanks

We camped just after the inn pinn, I'd say it was around half way!
Im single ❤😉😉😉
I’m Robbie 💙😉😉😉
Sorry mate: Teagan, Guadalupe, Sallie, Margarita & Jane have needs too.
Sharing is caring
@@RobbiePhillips I’m fickle💚😉😉😉

At 9:55 I thought Culann had started falling, I was like, "oh yea my mate Culann just fucked himself there. We got ourselves Mr. Fallen O'Dien."
I love this channel
Lovely video man :)
Always wanted to do the ridge. I would use both porridge and ropes.

A dream of mine

Haha 😂 well if we’d been serious about it of course we’d of smashed it 😏
Ahhh where you in the group of 3 we saw up there?
@@RobbiePhillips aye, you can just about see my massive green kryten helmet in the background of one of the shots!
Pocket Porridge!!!!
What's the song at 8:30 here? Can't find it for the life of me.
Pocket porridge looks good 😉how about some Robbie Phillips signature Hawaiian shirts? 😜🙏🏼🙏🏼
Now we’re talking! Let’s talk to Patagonia about that 😜
whats the song at the start? im assuming its in Gaelic coz it doesnt sound familiar but either way id love to know who it is, really like it! havent watched the rest of the video yet :)
A joyful heart - nimrod nol
@@RobbiePhillips ta. thats confusing coz thats an Israeli name but its definitely not Hebrew! such nice song
So, did I miss it? Did you break the record?
Hawaiian shirts and scrambling, what a combination! Great video, thanks for the laughs.
Out of interest did the record team use any protection for the climbing sections? I can imagine having teams of assistants in key places with food and kit would speed it up but 3 hours is just ridiculous.
Haha thanks dude!
They wouldn’t have any protection - it would all be solo. 3 hours is ridiculous!!! Ive got no idea how that is possible 🤣
What’s a “top shagger”, mentioned at 9:09?
Me.
It’s British slang for “a bit of a lad/good looking/got the chat/ladies man” - Michael likes to think of himself as one, but he’s a kept man these days 😂
Are those 'steps' around 9:45 natural? Or have they had some help in their formation?
Completely natural :)
What an absolute pile of choss! Looked like a great trip though
You guys are a bunch of clowns. Best climbing content anywhere. Too fun🤣🤣🤣
Woop 🙌
i want to do that
Anyone know what approach shoes Robbie is wearing?
Those were the Scarpa Zodiac - in hindsight they are too heavy duty for fast moving over that sort of terrain. I’d have preferred something lighter like the Cruxes or Mescalito
Thanks for replying. Sorry didn’t see it till today 😅
Do you love me 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍 lmao
Nice vid bois, shame about the record, you'll get it next time!
intro song?
nimrod nol, and an extrange sings
I used 'nimrod nol - a joyful heart' could just be a different name for it though haha
