How many wins do you think the Panthers will have in 2024? 🤔
5 I think they'll get better but I cannot see them getting past 5 wins I still think they've got work to do
4
3 maybe 4
4
Possibly none. They may be better than _they were_ last season. But who are they truly better than? Having said that, if the offense hums at all, Ejiro Evero _is still_ bloody incredible. It's just that the Saints no longer have their anchor OC, the Bucs have more potential at roster depending on play-calling & the Falcons _have_ a QB.
Is there anyone you think they'll beat with confidence?
Another point: Frank Reich. I've heard he micro-manages & this bad o-line play *does follow him.* I think he tweaks with it in a specific way like how Arthur Smith thinks he's fooling anyone by handing the ball to Not Bijan Robinson & thinking _"HAH!_ You were expecting it to be handed to Bijan Robinson, weren't you?" As if defenders surprised by this can't tackle Not Bijan.
With Reich, he will call for extra blocking on pass plays with routes that take long to develop, then he won't. I'm _guessing_ that his thinking is "when they see we're not using extra blocking, they won't know I'm calling for routes that take long to develop."
Now tell us Frank, how does that stop the defense? The thing is I saw a video analyzing the play-calling & that's what it found, that the o-line was mixing things like that up. Since the defense doesn't know what the call is in advance either way, how _can_ it fool them? It can't. So mixing it up can't achieve anything but leaving the QB unprotected.
So it seems like he was busy out-smarting himself.
Hahaha you fool… Never underestimate the power of David Tepper
the only reason he was so involved last season is because the all star staff he just paid hundreds of millions of dollars to was in disarray. he wants to chill out, pretty clearly actually.
@@parkerdavis7859 Man I hope to god you’re right, but seeing his history and him confronting that restaurant owner for having a sign roasting him I sadly have no faith it gets better anytime soon
You're so corny lol
Crazy How much i dislike that dude
nah I have zero faith in that clown
If they add Gilmore that would really help out the secondary shortage.
We already had him but we didn’t resign him
Brian burns isn't worth the 30mil he wanted. He was a pass rush specialist whos only had double digit sacks once
Which only makes not accepting 2 first round picks for him look even worse.
@cmonkey3698 that wasn't the current GM
@jairusbarringer7525 Correct, I never said it was, but can you really trust any GM hired by Tepper?
As a Panthers’ fan, I’m cautiously optimistic that we’ll win 5-7 games. We’ll see what happens.
No way lol maybe 3
@@u2bgeye679dumbass
Listen if we win 6 or more that’s a massive improvement compared to last season which as long as I see progression that’s all that matters
bro ty. i haven't even watched the vid yet, but i've been telling people the panthers have the most underrated offseason. they went and solidified the interior oline (chiefs just displayed why its important) got the best back in the draft, w rd 1 talent. then just brought in one of the most high upside receivers in the draft (he's 4/5 for me) and brought in dionte who is a great high floor player. as long as bryce's confidence isn't absolutely shattered, i think they have a legit shot to be a wc team this year, and surprise a lot of people. not too mention they consistently have a good defense, and i think this will hold true even w burns departure.
Just yapping
nah let him cook
you’re tweakin
I like the enthusiasm. I can’t see how they could have gotten much worse than last year.
Lost me at wildcard
Everything you said about DJ Wornam can be said about Burns.
i was thinking the exact same thing
Except DJ Wommun has never had a double digit sack season
You can but burns is just better, not by much tho
@@nengehtardzer2839 That one double digit sack season was not worth elite pass rusher money. I didn’t want the Panthers to give him anywhere near $30 million, I just wish he had been traded to the Rams except for the fact that Fitterer was still here and probably would’ve bungled the picks. That money was correctly spent on Derrick Brown.
No offenae by burns disappered allot as well so just a cheaper version of burns with dj so win win if you ask me
Thank you. I thought I was the only one who thought burns wasn't playing as well last year as he had been. 😂
We turned the Burns trade into a second round pick next year, Jadeveon Clowney, DJ Wonnum, Jordan Fuller, and Jonathon Brooks. Necessary for a rebuilding team.
How does trading burns (who would have played on the franchise tag) give us clowney, wonnum, and fuller? Those are just free agent signings man lol we got brooks......that's it
@gabesheaffer7757 burns would not have played on the franchise tag. He would have been a distraction. And he is saying they also traded back for an additional 2nd round next year. So by trading burns they got basically two 2nd rounders and a whole lot more money to play with. Also nvm the defense. The free cap space allowed them to get 2 high graded guards
Its been reported that they would have gotten a first round pick for him if they traded him last year
@ChrisHasak yeah and IF a bullfrog had wings he wouldn't hit is ass everytime he jumps 😂
@ChrisHasak Everyone keeps bringing that up but its hindsight. You could say if the panthers traded cam after his mvp season they would have got 4 1st round picks. 2 years after the mvp season.. maybe a 2nd? Happens all the time
I think the cap space to rebuild the interior oline and 2 2nd rd picks (bc they traded back) is better than paying Brian Burns DPOY money.
The interior OL is a overpay as well.
It's one of those things people like now but will be pissed when those guys combine for close to 40 mil cap hit.
It's just one of those things that they have to draft well or none of it matters. You can't buy yourself out of the hole in the NFL.
@@WerdUp13 good O line players are so rare there isn't no such thing as a overpaid competent O line.. I'd take the 2 guards over burns in our situation
@@joshbrewington4831 all pro interior OL come from all over. It has one of the lowest impact WAR scores of all NFL positions.
Hell Panthers got a all pro OG year out of a UDFA.
Bad place to overspend.
@@WerdUp13nah but they had to use that money, and those contracts don’t hurt them considering they’re a rebuilding team, if they were in the position to make a deep playoff run, yes those contracts would hurt but they paid corner stones in the oline and didn’t have to pay their defense a shit ton of money
Plus they got a small qb, they had the worst interior oline last year and because of it Bryce took a fucking beating. As a gm you’d must do anything you can to ensure your franchise players to progress and meet expectations
Panthers fan, I’d say 6-7 wins is our goal. The big thing is if Bryce trends up to being serviceable enough, we can compete.
Long as he shows improved poise and decision making even just winning 5-6 games would be seen as growth and an achievement
Man, I'd be elated to see us win 6 games! I wanna see Bryce sling it, get his confidence back, and have fun with the offense. I'm optimistic, but the TRUE wildcard is Tepper
Serviceable? Nah he’s capable of so much more. Stay away from the negative “woe is me” fans they’re infectious and they don’t even like talking to each other at this point.
@@WhyBigjordan oh 100% I was a thousand percent for Bryce over CJ at the draft, and I'm still happy we took him. He's definitely a potential superstar, I just want us to give him the support we never gave Cam
I think yall be lucky to get 6 wins this season personally but that division is literally wide open so you never know. Bucs won last season by just being slightly above mid
The Bryce Young Reclamation Project begins.
Mostly likely they go from absolutely terrible to just bad but tbh im kinda hoping this is a 2016 browns where they somehow get worse the following season
@@Coolthings246 bro how could you possible be this big of a hater
@@joshuaandrews9753 lol I didn’t mean to reply under this comment but anyways, I’m a falcons fan, and I’m a D1 hater💯
If you give any talented QB time to process and make a play, he will thrive. Panthers absolutely need to protect Young as a priority first. Im happy to see Management provide a few weapons to offload the ball too
And I'm really hoping canellis can make him look like the qb I know he can be. They've done a good job in the draft and off season, hopefully they at least get a good record.
Young will never be a QB that will win games
The burns trade ended up being... Johnathan brooks RB.. 2nd rounder for next year... and around 40 million in cap space which they used for 2 really solid gaurds on the OL. Not bad for someone who just posted 8 sacks.. Let dan Morgan COOK
We should have traded him a while ago. We had an offer of 2 1st round picks for him
@@ratio1948 hindsight is a hell of a thing
@@joshbrewington4831 yea but we were already struggling on a contract with him at the time so yea
I think they can win between 4 and 6 games this year and will likely be at last place again in NFCS.
The Panthers should have tried to get Bill Callahan before the Titans but i get the feeling Bill only went because his son is there
Callahan wasn’t calling plays last year. Canales was
@@daquanhendrickson1934 I said Bill not Brian
@@maskedman5657That doesn’t change what he said, Zac Taylor was the playcaller for the Bengals last year, whereas Dave Canales was calling plays for the Bucs (a playoff team)
The back half of their schedule looks a little gnarly. I see a 5-12 season.
They might even win THREE games this year!
A positive panthers video we out the mud 😭😭
😅
🫡
I think the panthers will regret Bryce Young
Besides the braindead school level defense of Joe barry Bryce had 0 highlights for the entire year
Bryce Young is NOT him
And EVERYONE ELSE scored on Joe Barry's defense
@@nautgamingnautgaming9949it doesn’t matter what team had the first pick everybody knew Bryce was going first lmao
These videos are always so well made. Can't imagine the time and effort that go into them.
Thank you so much!
I don't want to jump to conclusions yet. I'll wait till I see how they do this year. Canellis is good, but I'm still worried. And I wasn't surprised with what they got for burns. He didn't perform as well as he did when the rams wanted him. They missed their window and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't do as well in New York. I'll miss him, chinn and luvu, but they got some decent replacements. The biggest worry is the secondary.
Before game one Carolina will sign a Vet so they don't have to give guarantee contract. There are tons of Vets in FA rn
Q: What do you call 53 guys sitting in a room watching the Super Bowl on TV?
A: The Carolina Panthers.
The only upside to this season, is their schedule. It's not the toughest schedule out there, with a lot of 50-50 games that could go either way. The pluses you mentioned on defense will be nullified, with the fact that there's really no improvement on the offensive side. The team will be playing from behind in most games, and the offense cannot stay on the field long enough. There's really no offensive threats in the skills position. Bryce Young is already gun-shy, and is too hesitant to throw into timing routes. He relies on extending the plays too long, hoping they will blow up the defense. This offsets the 'improvements' expected at the O-line. They will be luck for 4 wins. But I don't see Young being the starter beyond the second half of the season. It's going to take him going elsewhere as a backup, in an established team to regain his confidence. Tepper will defer to his wife, on who they next QB they will role the dice on in the 2025 draft.
Where do you get "there's really no improvement on the offensive side" from? They spent big money adding O line depth, acquired immediate improvements at WR, TE, and RB, and they hired an up and coming offensive mind in Canales.... How is that not improved?
@@Jagza652 those skill position signings are nothing worth getting excited for. Certainly not enough to suggest they've made leaps and bounds improvement. They've all put up pedestrian numbers so far, and I just don't see them giving opposing team's defenses fits. Sure, you can argue about the O-line improvements. But that upside won't nearly be recognizable when the WRs can't get open, and Young is hesitant to throw into tight windows. I guess it's easy to be optimistic that they will be 'better', considering how bad the team was last season.
@@jcox2728 bold assessment that noone will be open between Diontae (that’s like his whole thing) Legette (very physical prospect) and Thielen (old, but caught 103 passes for 1,000 yards amidst the dumpster fire last year), I just don’t see that panning out.
The thing about Horn is that he's had 3 completely unrelated and random injuries. Unlike situations where a player has a recurring problem that's likely to be re-aggravated, I don't think his history of having injuries actually makes another one any more likely than for anyone else.
Fantastic job! Great diagnosis of my team's situation. I think one thing worth mentioning is David Tepper. Bad ownership is one of the worst maladies a team can have because it is a threat multiplier; it effects almost all aspects of the franchise (hires, talent, character, etc). With that being said, Tepper desperately needs to learn from his mistakes and understand that micromanaging a team is not the way to go.
Playoffs are a tall task but let them sleep on us. I like what the new GM is doing.
Facts 💯
Bryce seemingly isn't a player that can elevate a team around him, but much like Purdy will play better when good pieces are around him. Im also looking for him to play with some composure and speed this year.
I think he’s a QB that needs a good supporting cast to succeed, but once he has those guys around him, he can be a top guy. Look at his seasons with Bama and some of the talent he had. Was it great, first round talent? Absolutely, but it wasn’t as good as what Bama has had in the past, or what some other QBs had in the same time frame. Jamo and Metchie were great talent but it’s nowhere near the OSU WR room
I mean last year they really gave Bryce a bunch of flat tires and spare parts to work with. And a septic tank for a HC. Thank God for Theiln. Honestly I feel like they have gotten much better offensively, defense will be fine, not too worried about that. But they got some more Oline help, drafted the WR from SC, got Johnson from Pittsburgh, Hubbard is #2 RB and that's not an insult Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they were in contention for the division in the later parts of the season. The absolute most i can give them is 7 Wins
The Burns trade was a 2024 2nd and 5th round pick swap and a 2025 5th rounder
Hey last time we went into Arrowhead we lost of a missed 67 yard field goal, so never count us out
"the night is darkest just before the dawn"😂
2001 panthers:1-15 fire hc hire John fox
2002 panthers:7-9
2003 panthers: 11-5 super bowl appearance.
Have a lil faith.
We will win our division #KEEPPOUNDING
Yeah, bad days are over because worse days are just beginning.
It all depends on Dave Canales. If he sticks to his philosophy about common sense football,” being great at what we do good” than we may be a lot more successful than people think . I’m actually excited about the season
No they're not LoL. Carolina will have the #1 or #2 pick in next years draft. Them or the Giants.
loved this series the past couple years, excited for the chargers!
Spot on analysis!
We heard that before and look where they are
As a panthers fan there was games where burns would disappear as well hindsight 20/20 on the 2 1sts but we can’t build a contender while paying a edge rusher 150 million dollars that barely sniffs 10 sacks a year
great content farbetter than most🔥
I couldn't be the Panthers GM because I would have traded for Aiyuk months ago.
Also have to take into account that, and I didn’t look at all the film, that although panthers ranked high in run attempts, their lowish rush yards allowed gets watered down a bit due to the panthers simply sitting on the run and loading the box
We turned brian pick to Jonathan brooks and a future second! And We had to jump one spot to pick XL in the first round! Hopefully It will turn out to be a good trade for us
Lil Bryce learnt he can't scramble like in college, the nfl defense is just too fast but I see him making a comeback. Only thing is braces vision on progressions vs seeing past all the tall ass offensive and defensive linemen to get accurate vision. We need to learn to use Bryce properly proportionate to his physicique and using him in multiple ways not excluding legette may also be apart of trick plays where he passes. I miss wild cat formation/etc.
You’re right about the bad days being over. They’re going to block and get open for Goat and we’ll have a run game so it won’t all be on him. Yessir!
Thank you bunches for the optimism for this upcoming season. As a Panthers fan watching the games last year was painful. I'm just hoping for some improvement this time around.
I’m just now finding out you’re a Panthers fan lol
@@FootballAnalysis1 We're an endangered species.
I feel if they signed Burns, then grab Ashawn and Klavon, that D-Line would be stacked. Then draft secondary and Linebacker
Yeah the game we should've won was against the Packers, but for whatever reason the defense decided to not show up that day. Even though the offense scored 30 points. You can't really get mad at an offense that scores 30 points, so that loss was on the defense and it pissed me off more than any other loss in 2023. There were also games where Burns only recorded 2 tackles. He needed to be traded, people need to get over it, we needed draft capital and more prospects. I feel Wallas is a strict pass rusher which we need. Even if it's just someone to help disrupt the opposing offense's pass rhythm. I know it's the reality, but I really can't stand hearing that its a rebuild year, boring, going nowhere, yadda yadda yadda....There are teams that were able to make it to the playoffs and win a playoff game during their year 1 rebuild year. The 2008 Baltimore Ravens are a perfect example. There are teams that have it rough early on but can simply figure it out and earn a playoff spot down the stretch. For whatever reason, this team can't and I am beyond sick of hearing about it.
To ADD to your argument the packers n texans WERE IN YEAR ONE of their rebuild
Also fits your criteria of 1 playoff win (both of your arguments were proven by both teams last year )
That being said I don't think Bryce Young is a legitimate starter unfortunately
The game you pointed out that defensive coordinator is FIRED because the packers couldn't stop a beach ball on defense
The ONLY reason we didn't JOIN YOU at 2 or 3 wins WAS BECAUSE we HIT THE JACKPOT for the 3rd consecutive QB
Love should have been MVP last year and DID PRIME Aaron Rodgers PRIME Brett Favre levels of work
Panther fans know not to get too hopeful. I don’t trust shit until I see it now. Tepper has brought this franchise to the pits of hell.
As a DieHard Carolina Panther.. Don't care about Wins i just wanna see Keep Pounding on the DAMN Tuff
Great video, im a panthers fan and my hope is for around 5 wins. the most important thing i want to see is bryce young improving tho, if we only win 3 but bryce looks solid and just shows improvements (not be tom brady just good improvement) then thats a w imo
CJ Shroud says hey.
All they did was get rid of great defensive weapons to create a average offense to see if them spending all that draft capital was actually worth it.
So you think the Bucs will regress but the panthers worst days are behind them? I thought most of the takes on this channel were solid but this is pretty confusing…
Bucs regress in the sense of not going back to the divisional round and Panthers worst days behind them meaning no more 2-15 and killing Bryce Young. That's it
brian burns causally went those half of last season so i’m not worried about losing him
Are y’all still unaware that this is the Bucs division for the 2020’s? The Panthers will Panther because of their owner. Gone are the days of Richardson, who put together a legit organization even if he liked to hug the interns a bit too much. Tepper is a classic example of the “I am rich so I am smarter than everyone else, I did this, it was not random luck” bias. Good luck, I feel bad for Canales as he could be an epic coach but it reminds me of when the Bucs hired Raheem Morris in 09. How did that end up? With Rutgers Man and MRSA.
When you see a HC go out and support his offense this offseason with veterans in the key areas and then the draft I say about mid season but it may happen earlier this team will be very competitive and actually win a few they probably should not have.
Has any team, in the entire nfl history, ever thrown the ball for 9 of their first 10 downs??…
I really hope so! Gave my packers one of the most exciting games of the year.
This video just proves that the label bust doesn’t apply to Bryce young
A qbs only as good as the line, and skill position players are. And his line was horrendous
Tell that to the Pats
Jordan love didn't have half the weapons or running back Bryce Young had n Jordan love looked like Aaron Rodgers
@@nautgamingnautgaming9949 u fact you discredit AJ Dillon and Aaron jones is crazy to me.
Not to mention I don’t think any player would trade playing with Christian Watson for a 32 yr old Adam theilen
@@nautgamingnautgaming9949 AJ Dillon had more rushing yards then the my entire panther rushing attack combined but keep he’s not a weapon.
Carolina really should’ve tried to acquire Aiyuk, him and Diontae Johnson would’ve been a great 1-2 for Bryce with Thielen as a 3. But that’s what having no draft capital does to a franchise
Worst days behind us, but gonna be a while till we get a winning season or to the playoffs
God, I hope so! I don't need them to win a super bowl right away, just be watchable!
Yea we got sum good pieces but let's not get to excited we do this every year #keeppounding
Im scared abt the corner depth its gonna be annissue
Their worst days are yet to come as long as Tepper Tantrum is the owner.
I'm shocked the Panthers got Dicaprio Bootle from the Chiefs. I begged him to make the roster every year because his name was awesome, but I guess it was never meant to be.
Rock bottom!?!?! I can sink way lower! ~Homer Simpson
Just trade Bryce before the season started, otherwise they will miss out the chances to get the better deal
It's only just begun 🎶 🎵
DJ Wonnum's contract is 10% guaranteed because he tore his quad at the end of the year and has still yet to recover from it.
60 sacks is a LOT of hits, I wouldn't say it if the number was in the 40's but panthers need to see if Bryce Young is seeing ghosts like Sam Darnold did in New York and possibly replace him if they picking in top 5 again.
damn, just realized if the Panthers had their first round pick we would have had to settle with Nabers..
UA-cam putting me in the wrong comments… excited to see what Bryce Young can do
This video is gonna age like milk
Idk. I think the worst is yet to come. I'm imagining historical proportions bad. But I'm also a Bucs fan, so I hope that every year. Keep it up, fellas!
You forgot that Carolina has always been a 4-3 but last yr they wnet to 3-4
I am expecting to see them have a better record
I'm excited to see what this panthers can do. Give young a real chance
5 wins tops. Still and improvement
(10)☘❤ Such a pleasure to watch your videos! ☘❤
Have you met their owner?
To be fair can't get much worse only way from the bottom is up
9 wins easy
This team could absolutely double its win total and be the worst team in the league.
*Stop giving Bryce truthers hope.* Small physical stature, noodle arm, and doesn’t have the mobility to escape pressure. His ceiling is too low to ever be elite. The faster we can move on the better, betting on a historical outlier to be serviceable at max is just adding to the sunk cost.
Washed back up *Andy Dalton set the Panther’s season high in passing yards* in his _1 game this season_ and Adam Thielen had his season high in receiving yards.
Why? He doesn’t greatly limit the offensive scheme like Bryce does. Can’t throw accurately >20yds, limits the receivers route trees, and defenses can stack the box without worrying about a vertical deep threat stretching the field. Reich even said he had to simplify the play calling for Bryce, i.e., college-style shotgun spread offense to cover up deficiencies in his footwork, arm talent, and size.
While after Andy Dalton’s game in the post game, Reich explicitly said he was dialing up deeper passing play concepts for him. I don’t want to hear excuses in the offense line and skill positions absolving Bryce of blame when that same offense looked perfectly fine with Andy fucking Dalton. Bryce, who was supposed to be the most pro-ready prospect, couldn’t surpass Dalton’s single game passing performance in 16 games. There will be a whole new set of excuses after next season, rip the band-aid off and stop delaying the inevitable.
From ESPN Analytics: Out of 431 qualified QB seasons since 2011, Bryce Young is currently *431st* in Yards/Dropback.
Young is having a season statistically worse than Josh Rosen who was dumped after the season, and led the Cardinals to Kyler Murray.
_No QB below 300 has ever played out their rookie deal._
That first read was awful. Maybe 4 wins max
5-12 cant get much worse than last year
Already with the excuses...they don't retain their core of good players....
Panthers are in a bad division. Hard to get much worse. Decent off season moves.
Not with Bryce Young at QB.
JUST PLEAAAAAAASE GET ME OUT OF FOOTBALL HELL THIS YEAR CAROLINA FFS
