How far do you think the Texans go this year? 🤔
I believe the Division will be lot closer than people think.
The Jaguars were 2-3 games ahead of the Colts and the Texans before TL got injured.
The Colts didn't have AR for the majority of the season.
The Texans will probably win the division again, but with their schedule, it wouldn't be a surprise that the division is as tight as last year.
Divisional round. I think the AFCCG will be some mixture of KC, BAL, and NYJ.
I'm buying into the Texans hype HARD. There's alot to like and alot of it is young. I actually thought they'd be better than people thought last season, but even I didn't have them making the playoffs and winning a game once there.
They're only gonna get better with more development and the additions they made. They are aware of the advantages of having Stroud on a rookie deal and are making moves to take advantage of that while they can.
Speaking of Stroud, he's my preseason pick to win MVP
The Colts are also the only real threat in the division in my opinion. All in all, I see a 12-14 win division winning season where they either lose in the AFC Championship game or in the Divisional Round to the team that is going to be my AFC Super Bowl pick.

I'm very excited for the Texans, it seems they finally found their franchise QB and have built a solid lineup. These guys are going to be threat this season, can't wait to watch CJ ball out.

I’m honestly not too worried about our secondary. Kamari is looking like he’s gonna be an absolute stud in coverage and they’ve been putting Pitre in the nickel and letting Cameron Bullock run 1st team FS, which he fits the archetype of a free safety better than Pitre anyways. Of course there’s concerns on what ifs, but overall I’m not super worried
Not to mention we have Desmond King who has always been a good CB

AFC is so difficult. But they have made a lot of positive moves and are top 4 now
Possible? Yes, absolutely. The only obstacle is Big Red and his 28 year old 3x Super Bowl champion terminator.
Yeah, and I think that's because they just have so many unbelievably.High powered weapons on both offense and defense. The receiver core might be the best in the league and their number four is looking really good. Their defensive unit minus.The secondary is going to be a top five unit. C j seems to understand his role as a quarterback and leader better than anyone in the league, and his accuracy is insane. The coaching staff is top notch.
Really the texans have everything going for them. It would be hard for them not to make it to at least the AFC championship round.
Definite possibility, but the Chiefs, Bills, Jets, Ravens, Browns, Dolphins & Jags might have something to say about that.
No ones worried about AR he hasn’t finished a season without getting hurt in 3 straight years and wasn’t even good in college
The Texans love Lassiter. He's running with the 1st team early in camp. I think they're going to get enough out of Okudah and Henderson. I expect the Texans to be top 10 to top 5 in defense and that is why I think they have a shot at unseating the Chiefs. CJ Stroud is already elite and Slowik's scheme is elite, but the defense will be what puts them over the top in my opinion.

I have a cpl photos of Pierce and the O line guys who all went to another part of the field to chill and talk strategy today.
Its not a hype train as far as the fans are concerned, its hope, desire and want for the Texans to be badass. Demeco doesn't care what the media says one way or another, if want something bad enough you can achieve it.
Desmond king gets way to overlooked as a corner for the Texans he’s a solid number 2 in my opinion but they probably gonna make Kamari number 2 and Desmond at 3 I think they are solid guys but not elite at any level
Watched King and Pitre and Bryant run slot drills together today.
Lassiter will be the 2 and it’s not even close. This has been confirmed by what all the media members have seen. Every year the Texans have a rookie camp standout they always shine they’re rookie season

King in the slot is best for us. And hopefully kamari can lock down his side of the field. Our secondary should be a no fly zone
Mixon says he doesn't mind sharing the ball all around the field, he is a team player and the less carries he gets the longer he will last. As far as the WR1 goes, CJ says his WR1 is the one that gets open. Hunter said recently he was told by Demeco to let loose and Hunter said his past defensive schemes were read and react whereas Demeco just wants him to react and get after the QB.
As a titans fan I’ll give the Texans their props and say that they’re probably going to win the division and’ll go far in the playoffs. I think they’ll go 11-6 or 12-5 and that we’ll follow behind at 10-7 or 9-8 (we would’ve had that record if we literally scored one time in 6 separate games last year) I think if the browns don’t get it together at QB and the ravens fail again in the playoffs then the Texans have the best chance in the AFC to go to the big game. I’d love a Texans vs lions Super Bowl but I mostly just don’t want to see the chiefs or niners again.

They need to sign Stephon Gilmore. He was imo Dallas best CB last Year. At the end of the year He shadowed opposing Teams number 1 WR and did a good job.

Just letting you know the Texans corners have been Sting & Lassiter starting on the outsides with Jalen Pitre actually being the nickel corner and its apparently looked relatively good
Not worried about corner. Lassiter is a stud. Jimmie Ward’s age and Jalen Pitre getting burned are bigger concerns

@@andrewmartinez9613 this ain’t 2012 because we got rid of too much depth at various positions. Had the team been as deep as it was in 2011 and Schaub being able to show up in games we win. This is nowhere close to that situation.

You would be right on the money with your assessment
No team has added the depth that we’ve had across the board in the past few years. Bengals add Jamarr go to the SB immediately, Eagles add Brown go to the SB immediately, Jags add Kirk, Engram and other guys from Trevor and they go worst to first in the division right away. The Texans have everything clicking from Cal & Hannah being locked in as the owners, Nick is cooking at GM, and DeMeco gets the very best out of everyone with a QB that is a phenomenal talent. Every team has weaknesses somewhere the point is who can exploit them the best. The examples of teams who have this kind of offseason pays dividends

Watched Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter at practice today. Scary dudes.
The Defense will be the backbone of Houston this yr. Pitre got constantly was exposed in coverage last yr to the point he seemed to be targeted by opposing Offenses.....He was such a liability that Ryan had to bench him. Lassiter has been one of the bright spots this training camp. If l remember correctly, he allowed less than a couple hundred yards and ZERO TDs in Georgia. Ntm plays the run and tackles really well....................
Diggs will be the #1 receiver and him and CJ already seem to have a great connection and has had an unexpected impact on the team.

Texans fan here: the DB room scares me a little bit, but my concern is more with safeties than the corners. Pitre has been inconsistent and wars is always hurt, rookie Caden Bullock is gonna have to step up
Reports from camp on Lassiter are very positive, either Desmond King or Lassiter at CB#2 would be solid.
As a Vikings fan I like seeing a lot of familiar faces on the Texans, I think a lot of Vikings fans have them as their afc team
Lassiter has a lot of potential. I think this draft class as a whole is going to be solid
tbh I was hoping Texans go after Sneed but I think their secondary will be fine. Lassiter is a good prospect. Okudah in the end is a 25 yr old former 3rd overall pick he is still young and I still think he can revive his career. Desmond King is a decent nickel and I can also see Bullock potentially play some nickel as well so yes these are not fancy names but the upside there is high.
At recent training camp ppl have been saying Pitre was taking snaps at nickel. So I could see a ward + bullock safety duo w pitre at nickel a new three safety formation 😨

Can’t blame you for not knowing this, but Kamari Lassiter has been running at the CB2 spot essentially the entirety of camp. And Jalen Pitre has been in the Nickel during camp.

Hey, OK thank you. I too am putting all my hope and love behind Dameon Peirce.
Stroud and Peirce are literal highlights video magic if Dameon figures it out.
Him along with Collins are what I consider original Texans and there is nothing I want more than to see him shine and become the human highlight reel he was his rookie year.
Hoping the rookies outplay their draft spot. If they do our secondary should be good enough

Shameless Texans fan here: So speaking on their secondary, it is looking like Lassiter, the corner they took in the draft, is playing very well in camp is going to get the starting nod. ALSO they have now started to put Jalen Pitre at Nickle, which I think i a position he can actually excel in. Right now they need just another reliable safety next to Ward... overall, not a bad situation.

Anthony Richardson hasn’t proven a damn thing. While I like him as a player to pretend like he is a great QB is ridiculous. Can he improve sure. But by how much. He’s never been a great passer at any level and somehow he’s supposed to rehab then get on the field to practice and just take over games. Steichen will do everything he can to help him be successful, but acting like him doing anything outside of running the ball is supposed to be scary, I just don’t see it.
AMEN!!!! I have been dying on this hill and people just refuse to look at the stats, the advanced metrics, the game tape, they don't want to look at anything but his 40-time and that one pre-draft video of him launching the ball. Literally two of the least important skills for a QB in the NFL

@3rdCoastSportsTV the difference is his arm isn't nearly as refined as Fields, and I'm not a Fields fan. But the tape is the tape and if the read is predetermined, taking mental acuity out of it, I would trust Fields to hit the throw before trusting AR

Calen Bullock and Lassiter balking out of control and are coached by DeMeco. No players that’s played under his tutelage has had any serious regression outside of Pitre last year. Every who makes the team will be at they’re best

A lot of the Texans fans in here are pretty humble. For anyone who’s not go back and watch the Ravens Pummel y’all for 4 quarters in the playoffs. Devastation. You don’t go from THAT to the SB in one offseason. Idc how many past their prime aging veterans you sign. (Autry, Diggs, Hunter, Fatukasi, Ward. They’re all 29 or older) Plus you better feed Diggs otherwise the locker room is toxic by week 12.
I love these videos. I’m a pretty big fan of the lions and colts and very casual for the rest of the league so this gives me much more perspective of the outlook on the coming season and future of teams.

As a life long Texans fan, I do agree with you partially about the "slowing down" of the hype train. We still have not established ourselves as "here to stay" yet. Shit, people are PREPARED for Stroud now. Not saying that he can't do it again, but I am just saying that we should be appreciative of the season we had last year, and be positive going into this next year, not over confident. We were AWFUL just two years ago, let's not forget that and use that as fuel.
They’re prepared and so will he. Good qbs always get it done unless injuries occur. Outside of guys who are just stat monsters and don’t develop any consistency winning at a high level they always have questions

Slow downnn. They beat the titans 2x, bengals(edit with Burrow), broncos, Jags, Saints, Steelers, Buccaneers, and the Cardinals. All have atrocious secondary’s, And still barely beat the colts to win the Division. And the concerning part is their outside performances. They gave up 300 yards to Zach Wilson🫣.
What? Burrow was healthy and playing when Houston beat them💀💀 and the bucs where a playoff team💀are you disabled

Also I didn’t watch every Texans game.I never said they were a bad team they just didn’t beat anyone that would be in the way of a Super Bowl. Let’s just see how they do with a real schedule and everyone’s best shot. I’ll gladly have egg on my face but this is an entire different season for them. The jags had a first place schedule and missed the playoffs by 1 game. That very well could be the Texans this year.
