I have one issue with what he said about entering a room. While it might make sense in theory to slowly pie your way into a room while checking corners, keeping good crosshair placement and all that jazz, what you actually want to do is sprint at the door and right when you hit the threshold of the door hit a sick bunny hop while wildly firing. With this strat you will get rekt 99.9% of the time, but when it finally works and you clip it you will get a massive boost to you CPM (clout per minute)

If you see a "tryhard" constantly using overpop on their side they're not as good as they think they are. Actual good live farmers always want to be at least slightly underpopped, this is one of the factors of getting good KPM. If you're actually good at the game you don't need to crutch on 2v1 by zergsurfing, all that means is potentially less kills for you.

I liked everything you said except faction switching. This is just a personal opinion but I think that you should stick with one faction through the duration of a fight or an alert because if everyone is always switching to the winning team then the other 2 factions are just not fun at all. I think that staying one faction through a fight keeps the fight alive and keeps the fun coming. If I switched factions halfway through a fight instead of trying to push back it kinda just ruins it for the faction you switched from. I hope that makes sense. Like if I'm TR holding a base, and VS comes in and starts wiping us. Instead of switching to VS to win the fight, I would try and rally the TR to push back. We might lose a base or two but I think in the long run it keeps the Planetside fight alive.

When you’ve been playing this game for 10+ years like a lot of us have, you just want good fights. It’s rare to find a good 50/50 fight for your faction nowadays since the game has lost a lot of pop, so those of us hunting a good fight don’t care what faction we’re on.

I agree that you don’t want to sprint into a room where 3 people have a sight line to shoot you. However, given the client side nature of planetside 2’s coding, you actually want to sprint just up to the edge of the door then ads as you cross into the sight line of the first enemy (while still staying out of line of sight of the other enemies). This will give you the best peeker’s advantage that planetside 2’s spaghetti code will allow while still letting you get those headshots.
If you ads and slowly scan each area you will lose all peekers advantage that you normally would have had. Planetside 2 is all about target prioritization, maximizing the number of 1v1 engagements, and getting the most peekers advantage you can each scenario.

See, for decade we had this talk about 50%is HS rating, but I find it either only achievable in a sweaty close/mid range toon. There is just too much random range fights you can get into even with the best situational awareness that will drain your HSR, so unless you actively avoid distances where you are not in your HS "Goldilocks" then 50% on a mid-range weapon is almost unachievable due to the nature of the game, clientside BS, odd hitbox lag on some high-ping players. You either need to cheat or force that distance on your gameplay. Meaning that anyone with a less stat-padding approach to this would almost NEVER get to 50%HSR.
So, technically doable, but that means someone is doing the same as inflating their KD with HESH.
Also, how sweaty vets farm people? They split in 2 teams, one team starts a fight in a small base with other faction alts, drags more population into it while their friends on main get spare acc/poggers vs them. THAT's how "vets" farm people.

Welcome to VS, the faction with the accurate guns that in general have a higher first shot multiplier than any equivalent weapon on other factions meaning that the first bullet kicks much harder than the following, giving you a accurate first shot but then having to deal with the recoil from it pushed your aim higher than expected.
Its worth keeping in mind since you might have a much easier time and get better results by aiming at the lower neck/high sternum rather than the head and let the high first shot recoil bring your aim up to their head rather than aiming at their head first and having to fight the recoil down.
Strongly suggest you test things out in the VR shooting range by aiming at a targets head and just shooting a single shot without doing any recoil management so you can see how much it kicks. It obviously varies weapon to weapon and what attachments you have equipped on them but in general its good advice to aim at the neck with VS weapons, especially since the Orion can not equip the Compensator.

I don't really agree with lowing your mouse sensetivity.
I think this is very up to personal preference.
I play with very high mouse sense and aim just fine.
I'm used to this due to 2 reasons.
1: I grew up having extremely limited space for mouse movement.
2: Lowering mouse sensetivity lowers your Map Awareness/Responsive ability.
But again, this is very individual.
I can't aim for shit with low mouse sensetivity.
But with a higher one, everything freels more natural.
This is actually something people should look into themselves.
To find what "feels" right for them in controller setting.
This is something that i found out from playing a lot of fighting games (such as tekken)
I always customise most of the controller input because they dont feel logical in my head.
This in return prevents my intuiton and Expectation of command input.
If i dont have the right settings, i will have a much higher rate of Misinput, regardless of how much memmorisation.
And to prevent misinput you gotta slow down your reactionary time to allow the brain to memmorise.
However if you bind setting things more "instinctivly" according to your own preference.
    Youll find out several things.
    Your response time will increase.
Misinput will be almost nonexistant memmory settles.
You will have much better mental stamina and can endure longer sessions.
And overall better situational awareness because your brain is not strained with memmorisation and thus able to multitask better.
This might all sound silly. But it is seriously a very underestimated thing.
Its not something that easy to figure out either.
You gotta play around with settings.
And different games will "feel" different requiring whole different level of keybindings again once optimised.
Example: crouching is ctrl on planetside.
But if i play Rising Storm vietnam, its C because i have toggable crouching in that game and its a whole sifferent style of shooter.
I cant have toggable crouching in PS2 because its shooter is far more fast pace and require constant movement. Ontop of that you can go prone. So CTRL feels more instinctivly right as because Crouching is a more of a Reactionary action in planetside compared to Rising storm.
And my brain has it wired that CTRL just like shift (which is sprint)
    Is an reactionary action.
While toggle crouching is a predetirmed action which is something you do in Rising Storm as you can run around while in crouch, that being the preferred way of running to avoid getting killed due to extreme TTK on weapons. You want to make yourself as small target as possible.

  • @ApolloPS2
    @ApolloPS2 2 роки тому +4

HSR only counts the last bullet. Hitting heads should obviously be a priority, but don't sacrifice your accuracy to do so since it will often lead to a longer TTK.
Instead, try and minimize your HPK (hits or shots per kill) that you can track on fisu weapons page and maximize your overall accuracy - the goal overall is to minimize time to kill.
Trying to push for a particular HSR will always hurt your KPM unless you already played the game at that slow of a pace or you are bolting.
Thousands of really good FPS players have quit PS2 because they couldn't perform well. Meanwhile the vet community is a safe haven for players who are trash at other FPS games (including yours truly). The scale of the game demands attention to threats that aiming doesn't cover nearly enough of unless during low pop hours.

  • @TheHuffur
    @TheHuffur 2 роки тому

Another tip that I feel was missed in the video is to find a good 'camping' spot that is not a point room. You want it to have good cover that you can hide behind and peek around/above and while not on a objective, still be in a relevant location of the base but not the 'main' path the enemies are taking and preferably having limited ways to get there for them so you just have to look in one direction most of the time.
With that spot you repeatedly peek and hide behind your cover to ensure you have the peekers advantage(you see the enemy slightly before they see you when you come out of cover.. latency/ping magic) and just abuse the game mechanics as much as you want while you can hide behind your cover if you fumble a little and dont kill the enemy right away. Its also decently effective to peek out and shoot a bit before going back into cover, wait a second and then peek again to once again get the peekers advantage if you are fighting a good player or multiples.
Quick recharging shields can help a lot in a situation like this so Adv shield capacitor in the suit slot and Survivalist implant to reduce the shield cooldown and recharge time can be really nice. Engineer with their even faster shield cooldown can also be a good option with the Spitfire turret placed a little bit away from your cover so enemies will take damage and aim at that one before you peek out and blasts them. You also do not have to worry about running out of ammo as a Engineer.
The TL;DR is basically that people die a lot when running around, if you camp and (ab)use the peekers advantage with some random cover you will reduce the disadvantages that you have and increasing your advantages in combat. This works really well if you care about stats but also to "farm" a fight, as long as you have frequent customers at your location.

I understand that you throw out a video for content but 40 and 50% of headshot is called aimlock hack, not skill. Anyone with those numbers is a cheater or only playing cqc (and most likely still a cheater). Just try to shoot anyone at 70+ meters while the target is moving or trying to shoot back at you but even if standing still.. you won't get those numbers. Even for a sniper in fps games it's really good to have those stats. The playerbase mostly consists of veterans now which means that it would be even harder to achive those numbers because there are not a lot of new players to just farm down. It's ridicilous to call cheating "tryhard". Just look at your own footage here, it's around 3-5% headshot ratio. I especially hate this because the game is swarming with cheaters and the devs were so clever back then to add implants that will benefit them even more. The only thing more ludicrous than this is people who are saying "I've never seen a cheater, there are no cheaters or really just a few in the game." Just wake up you are not in fairyland.

Video incentivizing farming new players, no wonder this game pop is so low, lmao

Pumpgun + Skirmisher Jumpjet (switch to different one if you feel the need to get on the Roof or something) + being underpropped at least 60-40 to get enough Targets at best stacked in a Room near the Spawn.
And try not to kill the last Medic. Medics are so fucking stupid and greedy, they will revive everyone and be ready to be farmed again.
Depending on the Situation, switch through the available Nades. Maybe deploy Smoke with a different Class if you can't get to the Building without getting your Shield broken or dying.
    Playing aggressive = many Kills
If you don't want to die, you do you

I find it very idiotic calling people who are good at the game tryhards. Most of these good players have been playing for 7-10 years with thousands of hours of game time. Just because they are better at the game than you doesn't make them sweaty tryhards...

It's just a title for youtube senpai. Also there's nothing wrong with 'tryharding' if you genuinly enjoy that, I find it enjoyable.

@@ZealousVidya So are you implying that being good = tryharding? That is a very flawed way of thinking because being good at something and tryharding are two very different things. I could play planetside on autopilot half brain mode and still kill 90% of BR50's out there, am I tryharding? I would say no, I'm simply better than them.....
