Give this man a real drum set
most probably he already has some
@@drakulea4301 Actually ElNeax (the drummer in this cover) has never played an acoustic or electronic kit before! All his practice has been in VR in Paradiddle.
@@ParadiddleXR wow. That s so impressive really
@@ParadiddleXR how did he manage to hit the bass drums tho? He used the controller button or some kind of pedal?
@@pardolagames8994 In this specific cover, the drummer is using the controller buttons to trigger the kick and hi-hat. However we do have a lot of other options for pedals and peripherals such as USB pedals, Rock Band pedals, MIDI pedals including electronic kit pedals and more. You can check out the full list on our Pedal Guide (paradiddleapp.com/pedal-guide).
Man, the future of live music is nutty.
i think you never played music before , coz pressing a button like in guitar hero is NOT playing music , respect musicians this is VERY disrespectful to REAL musicians
@@nightwishn Just to clear up any misconceptions, the only button pressing going on in this video is for the kick and hi-hat, otherwise it's all hand and arm movements similar to a real drum kit, as you can see from the cam view on the bottom right. And we do have plenty of options for pedals for people who'd like to get even closer to a physical drum kit: paradiddleapp.com/pedal-guide
The man, the myth, the legend!

Oh man, that's how air drumming feels as both a drummer and non drummer
As a drummer who covers this song at every one of my shows this is amazing
if youre a drummer playing shows, i can guarentee NO ONE wants to hear this
@@TommyWashow speak for yourself. Can't see Nirvana do it personally, and no more FF shows in the near future. I'd love to see it.
@@TommyWashow You’d have to live under a rock to not know that there’s many people that listen to nothing but played out hits from the most popular bands
@@Goatboii Im fully aware of those people thats why I bully them in youtube comments I mean youre on the internet already how bout trying something you havent heart 4000 times
@@TommyWashow I agree, I get annoyed listening to this song now
As cool as this is, there’s a thing that VR won’t be able to implement, and that is rebound, which is like 50% of drum technique. Although I can’t deny this is impressive!
i wouldnt be so hasty to say they cant do rebound actually, theres some new controllers out there that are like a glove with cables that provide resistance and force feedback, so you can actually feel the items youre holding in VR, wouldnt be too big a stretch to get them to pulse to emulate something approaching rebound
@@mitchellwood1014 sounds very advanced… how does it work?
@@NotDingse It's basically a glove that has motors for each finger, and a cable attached to it. The games programming tells the glove what model it's supposed to mimic the grip of, and then the motors adjust the string lengths such that you can't close your grip any more than the item you're 'holding' would allow you to. With a little force feedback and pull back on the strings, seems to me mimicking something akin to rebound should be possible. I'll try to find the video to link
@@NotDingse ua-cam.com/video/jGyHT0t-mtw/v-deo.html
@@mitchellwood1014 but the problem is that rebound doesn’t only affect fingers. Same goes for recoil if it was a shooter.
The fact that you are able to nail this without any rebound from actually hitting something makes it so much more impressive. I've air drummed before and without actually hitting something, it is very hard play accurately.
For a gig, I will always prefer seeing people play in real life.
But this is amazing for training, it's money and space efficient.
Saw and talked to you first on reddit. First vid to make it to my reccommended. Stellar job on the game guys!
Oh. My. God. That was amazing, i dont regret watching this honestly

@@cashfortin ditto.
I have a solid 10 hours in Paradiddle, honestly it's amazing what you guys have achieved via VR and as drummer who's being playing acoustic drums for 4 years, I am more than satisfied to use Paradiddle. Only thing I wish I could do is setup a pedal for the kick and high hat instead of using the controllers. (Quite sure that's possible, not 100% certain though.)
If you have a pedal from a rock band drum set it works
Glad to hear you're enjoying the app! We do support a lot of options for pedals and peripherals such as USB pedals, Rock Band pedals, MIDI pedals including electronic kit pedals and more. You can check out the full list on our Pedal Guide (paradiddleapp.com/pedal-guide).

this is really impressive
Imagine that in like 50 years you go to a concert and it's people standing on a stage with VR headsets on plugged into speakers with a big screen behind them showing them playing instruments

bro with that money just buy a real drum set
@@rileyday6025 i agree but it looks amazing
For the first time in my life, I have considered getting VR
Vr is cool but only the expensive headsets
I have a reverb g2 and it actually has good picture quality unlike the old headsets
While I love this and think it’s great for people can’t afford a drum set but still wanna play don’t think this will be just like playing a drum set nothing can mimic the feeling of playing on a actual drum sets but if you are looking just have a good time and rock out on a drum set and don’t care about getting proper training to how an actual drum set works and feels this seems like a legit and awesome option. Can’t wait to see more things from paradiddle!
Thank you for the kind words, I agree with everything and I can’t wait to jam some more and record it!
vr is more expensive than a drum set, but if you already have one i see what you mean
This is so fun
I didn’t know John cena could play the drums 😱😱
😐
Lmao
This is amazing but as a drummer, the left and right foot (bass and hi hat control) are insanely important for drumset and kind of everything for drumset. Pushing the buttons with your fingers means you learned about half of the tune. If you’re not stomping your feet the same time that you’re pushing the buttons, then you only know the hands portion, which is the easy part. The hard part is coordinating your feet and hands together. I really hope he/they add bass drum/hi hat control so when he actually hops on a drumset, all of these skills will transfer over.
In this cover specifically, the drummer is using the controller buttons to trigger the kick and open/close the hi-hat. However we do have a lot of other options for pedals and peripherals such as USB pedals, Rock Band pedals, Vive trackers, MIDI pedals including electronic kit pedals and more. You can check out the full list on our Pedal Guide (paradiddleapp.com/pedal-guide). You can see the drummer using an e-drum kick and hi-hat pedal in this Whiplash VR drum cover: ua-cam.com/video/cZKheiV1n4c/v-deo.html
I dont have the other options for pedals but I practice moving my right foot while pushing the button.

Real question; I started using Paradiddle awhile ago and noticed the toms didn't sound as good as the snare/cymbals. Are you working on updating these sounds at all? I'm on Quest 2 by the way, thanks!
Just tried the game. It's pretty good but also hard as im new to drumming but i can totally see this becoming more popular in the future.
What’s it called?

hey yall how does this work? do you need actual pedals for this game?
You can but its not required. You can just use the triggers on the controllers.

this looks interesting but i can't imagine it would be a smooth transition from a real kit to VR, having no rebound from the actual drums. Not to mention how does it pick up bass/hi hat pedals without feet trackers?
That's what I'm wondering. I could never figure those out in the AppLab version for the Quest. This application has so much potential.
it uses the triggers or buttons on the controllers, i just tried it and for me its really hard to play like that
It does support Vive trackers actually! In this specific video we're using the A button of the VR controller but you can choose one of the supported options, such as e drum or usb pedals to trigger the kick and open the hi hat. paradiddleapp.com/pedal-guide

I would assume there is a button for a "trigger" so one would be mapped for bass drum and one high hat control
I've broken all of my neck bones to this song over the years. Perfect angst music.
I can’t wait for the full version on quest
I have a question, can u activate the kick drum with a button press on one of the controllers

My god, i have to get back to paradiddle. I used to use it some years ago to play the dums in phase shift (a rock band clone for pc) and it was mighty fun! Even bought a USB food paddle for it lol. This makes me so keen to get back to it. I just hope the performance is better than it was back then, i remember having severe performance issues at times, aspecially with any form of multi cam.

Bro he is so good
Finally some space for my drum kit!
Is the audio from the kit or the song, because the drum sound is perfect
both i think
It's coming from both, the louder one being from the Paradiddle kit to focus on the playing.
Isn't this harder without the rebound of the sticks hitting a real drum? I feel the lack of "weight" would make drumming like this crazy difficult
slts isnt a technically difficult song to play so as its harder than a physical kit its definitely doable
yeah i don't see ghost notes being very easy to master on this without some sort of feedback from physical sticks...
@@BorisJohnsonMayor if you've mastered any stroke technique you should know to not rely heavily on the rebound of a surface, and instead be able to control and orchestrate them freely with your wrists and hands mainly.
Also there were zero ghost notes played in this playthrough
This is inspiring to learn. Rebought the game on my Quest 3.
perfect
how does the bass drum work in vr? do you have a pedal?
You can buy a pedal that you can connect. But otherwise its the index button or one of the letter buttons
Actually you have quite some options to simulare the pedal, you can use a real electronic drum pedal, USB pedals, DIY pedals and even driving pedals! Or otherwise you can set any button on either controller to trigger the kick :D
