Looks fantastic! I love Drums Rock but it's a game, now we're speaking of "real" virtual drums 😁 Any chances it releases on other supports like PSVR2?
Right! This may single-handedly revive rock band. I would do this all night.
Honestly u should be a drummer in a rock band 🤘
the drummer is so good he can make the sticks levitate and play Chop Suey. That's some true skill.
i better
High inglés Federico de Barracas 😂
Jedi drummer
This is cool
@@Invalenth lol the traslilation i to english is so funny
If this becomes successful, it'll be the reason why I will buy VR.
Can't wait for you to join us in VR!
buy it
Vr itself is good but paradiddle doesn’t really work. A big part of playing drums correctly is rebounding off the pads which lets you transfer and play faster plus controllers are heavy and bulky compared to sticks. Respect for the devs though it’s good for the hardware they have to work with
@@volkzmusic8499 oh believe there are people that are moving their hands and arms faster than you can imagine... and that WITH heavy and bulky controllers! Don´t believe me? Watch some Gameplay Videos of the best Beat Saber players in the world! Yes you can´t really compare Beat Saber and Drums, i´m just talking about the speed. If you love the game and don´t care for you´r wrists go for it (not recommended)!
How about buying a drumset instead?
i can see this as a great way to not only practice/play drums, yourself, but also as an Instructional video...its got a POV cam and each drum 'reacts' to being hit, so the viewer knows EXACTLY whats going on...its like those piano videos that use Synthesia...
Exactly! I WILL be using this!
it's Synthesia. And I do it quite often with my live performance. (But I don't use Synthesia anymore - it's quite limited in option)
Synesthesia is a brain condition that identify sounds as colors.
@@RinaldoJonathan lol thanks Google, for autocorrecting the wrong word :-P
@@RinaldoJonathan like that episode of house where the guy hears colors?
The only downside is for standard to use the kick you have to squeeze the trigger on the controller and that’s a little difficult when doing everything else
Speaking as a former drummer that had to deal with so much hassle and financial bs obtaining and maintaining even a crappy sounding drumset, this is one of the coolest and best uses for VR I've ever seen! You're keeping the spirit of music alive by allowing people of all ages and abilities to learn how to play the drums and have fun with it. I cant wait to see what you upload next! Hopefully one day I'll be able to play it myself! 😄
Thank you for the kind words and the support! We'll be uploading more videos very soon :)
I second this comment. VR saves space and being a college student I'd love to play this because there's no way I'll be able to fit my drum set in my dorm :(
Sadly a VR kit is 1000€ and up, + a decent computer to handle it.
@@tokehgekko9455 Standalone kits like the Meta Quest are ~$400 and don't require a PC to run! It's getting cheaper and easier than ever to get into VR - you can bring your headset in a backpack and have a full drum kit wherever you go :)
@@ParadiddleXR that would be sick
Simply incredible! My daughter has been wanting a drum set and now I can offer her one in VR! Thanks for allowing us to play this for free (as of now).
Thank you for being part of our journey! We love hearing stories like this, it's all about making music practice more accessible and convenient for everyone.
Or .. you know.. just buy her a (electric) drum set? since they cost almost the same?
@@katarinanokami2718 the physical response of an electric kit is of course more satisfying, but there are also a few arguments to be made for VR:
- More portable, you can bring a Quest anywhere and bring your kit with you.
- We have a rhythm game mode built-in for a more game-like experience, which makes the app easier to get into for complete beginners.
- We also have more structured lessons coming in our future Version 1 update.
And there's a lot of other cool things to do in VR, if the original poster wanted to let their daughter try out painting or sculpting in VR as well :)
@@katarinanokami2718 bruh that shits way more expensive than a headset
@@minigargantuan3788 headset alone yeah, but u still need the cameras to detect movement, and I don't think those are free... "bruh"
That must be weird and difficult not having any rebound. Also impressed with your ability to have the headset facing the drums and cymbals you’re hitting because I always look away to the left a lot of the time when playing but I guess you have to without being able to feel them.
we all feel the neck wanting to hide behind the hihat, dude! 😂
I'm really glad this is still in development
We have some huge content updates coming in Version 1.0, so stay tuned!
If this would have some kind of dynamics I'd be soooo up for it, but it looks dope even at the current state.
All of the drums in the app have dynamics! All of our instruments are velocity sensitive, with multiple samples used in each velocity layer to make sure everything sounds responsive and natural. Some of our instruments like the ride cymbals also have multiple hit zones (center vs edge).
@@ParadiddleXR maybe Ananas is deaf
@@metalwix youtube compresses audio by default
@@ParadiddleXR do the toms and snare have multiple zones and velocities as well? curious on how ghost notes and what not would be done because you need the rebounding effect to achieve it
The ending is one of the most joyful combinations in music
You guys are doing amazing with this game, props to you. Tried it for the first time 2 days ago and it brought back memories from the old guitar hero days. Legendary work, easily one of the most fun vr games. thank you for this.
As a drummer
That snare sounds the best
I wish they all sound like that
You can also change the way it sounds, cool stuff
Taking air drumming to a whole new level!
this is a very niche audience to attract, im glad im part of it.

im absolutely blown away by how the sticks look so good hitting everything
This looks responsive AF!! Well done!❤
Awesome !
Imagine that game being sponsored by brands where you can customize your own drum kit with whatever you want.
The perspectives are insane !
This is awesome dude
Man, I love this song
love that snare
i remember getting this game back in like feburary i think. this game is really fun
that snare sounds sick
Amazing dude!!! 👏 👏 👏
I'll make sure to get these, for sure 🤘🏽🔥 gonna start learning drums
Great cover man Rock on!
Still can't get over how impressive this is
Incredible!!!
I tried paradiddle months back and drumming without physical feedback is so hard. I am amazed you could do this. Unless you set up a physical set and mirrored their location in VR.
This is where I'm at. Coming from being used to actually being able to hit things, not getting the rebound off the drum head or cymbal makes my arm tire out real quickly and I constantly go *through* the drums and cymbals and hit things beneath them, not to mention how much heavier the index controllers are than a stick. Feels like the sticks really need a physical interaction in game to stop them from clipping through. How would you go about using a physical set? Like I could see having an electric set just unplugged but in the real locations but what would be tracking your sticks if you're not using a controller?
@@bigdog91paper the hand tracking just needs to get a little bit better
@@bigdog91paper can try apply adapters for aaa bateries, it will be lighter by few grams
You can plug a MIDI keyboard into your PC and Paradiddle maps it to in-game drums. I'd bet they are doing that in this at least for the kick and hat pedals.
Bought it today and played around for half an hour, it's fun and only takes a short while to get used to the lack of "feedback". The main issue for me is the hand tracking is really jank on quest, there's noticeable lag playing over steam link, and playing the kick drum with your finger feels gross but I'm told a Guitar Hero / rock band drum pedal plugged into the PC aux port will work as a trigger.
Nice kick work!
This looks amazing! I don't know if you are planning on adding more instruments, but doing that and multiplayer support would get your project sky high! This game can be a reason for me to buy a VR Headset
just bought myself a vr headset to learn the drums! thanks for showing this video!!
Amazing!
this is simply so cool.. i wish i could buy vr just to play some metallica or system of a down bro
VR or not this is fire as shit. Good work man!
Awesome!
I love this sim so much. It got me into wanting to play drums and learn. I am so happy to have found it.
You're a great percussionist. I really want to check this game out.
Insanely epic
Man this pair of drum sticks goes hard
paradiddle is one of the games I dont regret getting at all and since I am a drummer I know this is gonne be SICK!!!
until you hit the underside of the drum constantly from the stick phasing through and tire yourself out just from concentrating on ultra consistent swing distance.
@@jeffres5729 Literal skill issue
This looks amazing. As a drummer myself, i reckon this would mostly be for simpler songs. Since there is no rebound much of the more advanced playing styles would not be possible. Perfect for rock classics and pop though!
Honestly was thinking the same thing. My real question though is if VR headsets have hand controllers, how are they using a kick drum or controlling the hi hat?
@@johnbrewer7299It uses buttons on the controller
@@johnbrewer7299 Controller buttons or having an electronic pedal connected. The game supports having an entire electric drumkit to be connected with it

Seeing this made me buy it. I had fun :)
I tried doing this song (its not that hard to learn) but I remember when i first tried doing it IT WAS SO HARD YOU MADE IT LOOK SO EASY so i challenged myself to understand and I did so thanks
I hope one vr game game devs of non-music games add instruments like this so some people start playing instruments on the battlefield, I hope that the tech gets more advanced to allow any instrument to be played, so we get a bigger variety of players.
Been playing paradiddlevr for the past 3 Months and absolutely love it
Yes! We're adding 3 new environments for our upcoming Version 1 update, including the jazz club in this cover. We don't exactly have a larger stage yet, but we're definitely keeping that in mind for future new environments. You can actually see sneak peek concept art pieces for each of the new environments on our Discord: discord.gg/paradiddle.
@@ParadiddleXR is the actual footage on the PC or the quest Version?
@@BobInGreek The footage is from the PC version, as there is no way to get the third person + smoothed first person cameras in the app to work on Quest.
Funny cuz you can’t even play paradiddles in this lol. Unless they’re at like 60bpm
@@drummersnare6276 ???????????????
Awesome
awesome
Came for the paradiddles. Stayed for the Chop Suey.
how are foot pedals controlled?
Back trigger
Great question! In this cover, the drummer is using the controller buttons to trigger the kick and hi-hat. However we do have a lot of other options for pedals and peripherals such as USB pedals, Rock Band pedals, MIDI pedals including electronic kit pedals and more. You can check out the full list on our Pedal Guide (paradiddleapp.com/pedal-guide).
I would like to see this evolve, where you can create a character and play the songs as if you were in RockBand but a high tech version of being able to have a full controlled character to play while playing the songs singing, guitar, bass, drums, piano and DJ all mixed together making it "BandHeroVR"
Got that St Anger snare DLC already
sick
thats awsome😮
This looks so sick! Wondering how triggering a stroke on the kick pedal works though
With the Trigger, for me unplayable, also i never played Drums before so yeah 😂 but a external pedal works, which is fucking cool! Maybe i get one😂😂
@@TheHanfi93I wouldn’t be able to play it either/have fun playing it unless there were actual pedals, preferably an option for 2 for double bass.
This would actually be incredible for "how to play" videos. In the first person view it's so much easier to see what's going on
Youre incredible 😂
This is one of those games that I love a lot even though I won’t be able to play it at all
Well done guys! This is brilliant!
The one thing paradiddle needs, is more diverse equipment. I want to sound like Danny Carey.
We have 60+ percussion instruments and 5+ full drum kits in the app, is there a specific type of drum you're looking for?
That bass drum sounds amazing tho
You know what would make this game 100x better? If you could choose between drum set or a bass drum. That would be cool
I have bought the game already after watch this video 😍😍😍
Paradiddle is a good name bc it’s pretty well known even with beginners
Im really curious. What is used for the foot pedals? I really wanna play some drums and irl are kinda too expensive for me. So when i found out about this game i was super excited. I just dont know what to use for the pedals
you can use almost any pedal with midi support, like the kick pad/pedal from an electronic kit. there's a lot of setup guides on their wiki
they use the trigger button but you can use a midi pedal
200k veiws and only 7.5k likes???? why isnt everyone liking this like it takes skill to play drums but to play it on vr where you have to real impact to go off of its insanely difficult. great video it will get the likes it deserves sooner or later
is this game compatible with e-kits? cause it might be a way to properly learn drums too if it has a "game mode" similar to stuff like guitarhero/clonehero edit: 10 piece kits specifically. so with the added ride cymbal and Floor tom
Yes, we have full MIDI input/output support so you can connect your e-kit fully or partially (like just the foot pedals) if you'd like. We also do have a game mode, check out our overview for the Note Highway (our rhythm game mode): ua-cam.com/video/JHJPijP9QAY/v-deo.html
this is probably the reason i would buy vr
U the best!
I have a question, how does this handle the kick drum without foot/FBT on? I'm curious about it and would love to try to learn how to play drums, and this seems like a good way!
From my experience with the app, the controllers you use have triggers on the end, and on the right controller, you use that trigger with your index finger. I’m sure you can change the bindings but either way it’s very impressive
vr is the future.
Killed it 🔥🔥🔥 super curious tho, how did you record the third person perspective?
@paradiddle any chance we can watch videos like this in lessons while we practice? This would be a neat way to watch drums and learn songs. Its much easier to see whats going on with the drums reacting.
Cool
He's so good he doesn't even need hands; just telekenesis
Damn it i need 1 now....
I have a question. How do you hit the kick/bass drum? 🥁
They use a midi kick pedal as well as a pedal for the hi hat I think
@@josh_nado triggers on the controller too
If this becomes successful, It will be the first ever Quest game that I won't pirate.
It's out on Quest right now, check it out! The app is called Paradiddle on the Quest Store and Steam
@@ParadiddleXR sheesh🥶
literally exactly what I was looking for wtf
This drummer is amazing , he has mastered levitating sticks that's takes major skills. 😁😁😁😆😆😆🤘🤘🤘❤❤❤
Well, welcome to part of the UA-cam algorithm.
Amazing! I can only find the beta/demo version on the quest two is there a full version somewhere? Happy to pay for it!
And I’m assuming that the background and video filming feature within this video is part of the official app and only available there?
Sick! Im a drummer 2!
i never knew john cena was a drummer

How do you control the pedals in VR? Is there a pedal hooked up to your PC or something?
i played this game and this is the first song i played, and it’s official!!!

im downloading this on my quest 2. i dont know how to play drums but im sure it will be fun
I need this for psvr
Lol omg I learned something about this beat through this. Happens everytime..
But how does the bass pedal work?
