My heart sits in my throat every time I watch this scene, and I'm almost embarrassed to admit how many times I've watched it. My lack of patience got the better of me this season with wanting these two to declare the obvious between them, but if we could go back and get a do-over, I wouldn't change anything about this kiss. It was romantic, sensual, and set in the perfect light by the water. Nathan and Amy are magic together!
I was so happy to see this scene! I got scared for a minute that we might have to wait until Season 19 to see this happen lol! I know these are characters in a TV show, but I'm just so happy for them! Amy and Nathan seem to be so natural together, they have a lot of fun, have a lot in common when it comes to their lifestyle, and finally they just pushed all of the problems aside and let this happen. Nathan seems like such a great guy! So kind and gentle, playful, and protective. I honestly actually prefer this pairing, Amy and Nathan, compared to Amy and Ty. Amy and Ty were great together, but to me Amy and Nathan just fit together so much better! This storyline with Amy and Nathan has made me fall in love with Heartland again! I am so looking forward to seeing where their story takes them together in Season 19!
@@josiedinsmore I agree. I mentioned in another comment that I think Amy & Nathan have more chemistry than Amy & Ty did. This seems like a more mature relationship which makes sense because Amy & Ty got together quite young and were together for a long time but I feel like Amy & Nathan have more in common and just fit together.
I am happy for Caleb as well, but I am also worried for him. He has been so unlucky in love and he deserves to be happy. I hope things go well for him this time around with Ashley. I hope she realizes what she has in him. Hopefully, her mother told her the same thing she told Caleb at Amy and Ty's wedding, that Ashley was happiest when she was with him.
Took them long enough! Let’s hope there’s a season 19!!! It will be intense with Nathan’s sister now and everything that’s happened but I can’t wait to watch it❤❤❤
Amy and Ty had a great love and I was glad that we were all able to be apart of it from beginning until his passing. Ty was a good man and he and Amy had some things in common, but he was also different. Amy said so herself. She would always say that she thought she was going to turn him into a cowboy. Now, Nathan is more of a cowboy and I think that among other things, is what attracted Amy to him. He is a good man and I think he will take care of her and Lyndy. It is not going to be easy at first for them to be together because of his sister, but if he loves her, he will do whatever it takes to keep her in is life. It seems that he already knows she is worth it because he professed his love to her. They have both been through a lot and I agree, they deserve to be together and to be happy!
The Ty and Amy love story was one of the most iconic in TV history, Amber’s words not mine. I feel like the show from beginning to end has been tarnished. Also do the writers and producers do their homework about past seasons,it’s seems they contradict themselves alot. It’s just sad what this once great show has become 😢.
FANTASTIC season, writers! I've loved every season, have favorites and a couple of least favorites BUT this was just SUCH a great season! So many surprises that at least I wasn't expecting that were so emotional, and I loved it! I cried more times than I should admit, but not just over Nathan and Amy... thought it was definitely just so....... perfect. Top 5 season for me honestly.
Nathan had not thought that far ahead for her positive response, which is good because he's not being "the mystery man" hiding his feelings afraid to hurt or be hurt. however, that was an expression of pure ecstacy on his face after her response. Amy obviously feels the Love, and, as a single mother and self-employed business owner, and family ranch investor, she's aware of the work ahead that will need to be done by both of them. not an easy path but these 2 have fought their way through personal adversity to arrive here... in this great moment in their mid 30's with a lot of living yet to do.... as a new family healing the past.
I loved Amy and Ty’s story, but to be honest, I’m LOVING Nathan and Amy’s story just as much- it’s a mature love- with real life obstacles - but it’s been done sooo well. I don’t think they could have created a better character for Amy than Nathan ❤
I absolutely agree!! Amy has changed a lot because of what she went through with losing Ty. I think Ty was perfect for her then, and Nathan is perfect for her now. I feel like they did an awesome job dealing with Graham leaving the show.
Absolutely! I am so glad someone else is seeing how much Amy has changed from her younger self. What she and Ty had was their 1st real love, as you stated, where they experienced "real life obstacles" that they dealt with and learned from. I guess you could say that relationship, her marriage and loss prepared her for Nathan. It is a great story and I am so happy for them.
Also, I’m glad Caleb and Ashley have reconnected. She was always his proper love and same with her. Glad he is moving on from Amy. Problem with Caleb is he always falls fast and easily, which is why there have been so many women but hopefully this is the last. They are both divorced and have children so now seems like the right time.
AAAAHHHHHH!!! 😍 I haven’t watched because I’m waiting for the episode but this scene is what I’ve been waiting for. This season has been amazing and I’m sad that it’s ended. Can’t wait for season nineteen 🥰
It truly has been awesome! And while this is my favorite part of Season 18, there was so much that was soooo good and emotional and....eeep! LOVE IT!!!
Everybody wants to experience this feeling... of falling head over heels in love with somebody and having it reciprocated! When you've experienced it once before, and it came to and end too early in life, feeling it again a second time is a Blessing! I hope the Best for Nathan and Amy and another 5 years of Heartland telling their story! Please!!
I just wish they had waited before introducing the new villain- Nathan’s sister. This season was so full of crisis. I just felt like my brain needed a little rest before we move on to next crisis.
That was THE BEST SCENE . ❤ So where will they live after married? At Nathans after the sister gets kicked to the curb? We need Ashley n Caleb remarried and more guest appearances with Malory and Jake. ❤ cant wait to see the fun Nathan and Amy will have with Lyndy.
Just watched this episode and what a great one it was. This season has been awesome and I can’t wait for the next. Nathan’s sister is going to be a problem though 😡 She thinks she can show up suddenly and start making demands? Hell no! Nathan has been the one dealing with his Dad and the business. Where has she been?
Literally THE BEST ending- they even played it off like the episode *could end* with how they had the music stop and the camera pan out but thank goodness they didn’t make us wait until next season to see what we’ve been waiting for all season ❤ LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT!! Season 19 can’t come soon enough!
i hope any "drama" in S19 will be directd less at Nathan/Amy and allow them to get a little comfortable, confident, trusting and loving in their relationship, especially inclusive of Lindy and direct more of the "trauma drama" to other characters and story lines. would love to see Amy & Nathan happy & smiling 85% of the time in S19, not the other way around like its been for Amy S14-16 and Nathan S17. More smiles. less frowns.
@@deans178 Fingers crossed🤞Still got his sister to deal with and she is on the war path. I hope she leaves them alone, but I'm with you, I want to see more of them just being happy with each other and with Lyndy. If there is a Season 19, I think it will be great.
How can a character be resurrected from ashes? The actor chose to leave, years in advance it was planned, and he doesn't intend to come back. As far as I'm aware he hasn't acted since. It happens a lot on TV, this isn't the first time. As they say-- the show must go on..
When season 20 comes....I want 20 episodes with some winter scenes. Christmas too with lots of snow and maybe a Santa! Oh and some special features on the DVD, they never have those anymore. Oh by the way I'm and old school guy and I squealed too.😀
I'm so happy for Amy and Nathan! About time this moment happened I squealed when I watched this clip I'm just waiting for this episode. I hope they announce season 19 soon! ❤❤ I love this show
Amy don't kiss Nathan the snake not the man for you. There is one man for you amy that ty . Amy and ty and lindy will be a loving and happy heartland family.
The character of Ty no longer exists, which was the actor's decision. He can't be brought back, nor does he want to return. For the show to move forward, Amy's character needs to be allowed to find love again (which plays out in real life all the time). If you can't enjoy the show for what it is now, re-runs of season's 1-13 are your only option.
It’s about time they get together I’m glad she’s finally moving on from Ty he’s been gone for a lil while now (he’s not coming back for those of you saying he is)and actually fall in love with Nathan I hope they actually make something out of their relationship and raise Lyndy up right together maybe they could eventually live together I hope they last if not maybe there’s hope for her n Caleb
The writers finally did it , they’ve managed to destroy something that went on for years. They destroyed the best love story ever on tv. Amy Professor love to or another man Ty is forgotten and another man will move in and try to be Lyndys dad. What a shame the end of something beautiful.
That's one of my biggest concerns with going with Nathan over Caleb. (And one of many reasons I really resent the rushed ILY to Nathan.) At least Caleb wants to talk about Ty and he's already Lyndy's godpapa and would never want to erase him. He'd also understand if Amy were upset or thinking about something from the past. Nathan wants nothing to do with the past and would probably just be jealous which keeps her closed off. At least Caleb got her & Lyndy talking about Ty this season! I'm OK with her wanting to move forward as long as he's not forgotten but the closest we're ever going to get is Caleb. Just wish Amy could see that. I think she knows it deep down and just isn't actually ready yet which makes the ILY to Nathan even more jarring/weird. This is the first relationship really since Ty but the ILY is so out of place and rushed (and I'm really really hoping they don't actually last in which case it's even worse that she's saying that to him when we're just going to have to switch gears in a few episodes and hear it again with someone else eventually).
How about directing dissatisfaction at the actor who played Ty who voluntarily left, with no plans to return. Amy's character shouldn't have to be stuck in limbo, not able to move forward. As in real life, this situation has played out countless times. People who have lost spouses, especially early on, have found love again. That doesn't erase what they had with the other person, even when they had a child/children. Ty was mentioned at least twice this season, so Amy still honors his memory; they're not pretending like he never existed. I find it interesting how Ty's mother hasn't appeared for quite some time; there doesn't seem to be involvement from his living relatives (perhaps MF/Lily has been busy with other projects). I think it's time for the Ty fans to either accept the show as it is, or move on and find something enjoyable.
my mom said marrying again is actually an acknowledgement of how good it was the first time. And many shows follow this thought eg. "When Calls the Heart" when Jack left a letter for his wife to "find love again" (should he not return from his RCMP mission.)
As you can see from the comments to this thread, you are in the minority. This was a great move on story for Heartland. You can live in the past only so long. Ty was a great character, but it’s time for the future. Real life.
@dakotajones7765 I take it that you haven't watched the show since season 14. GW chose to be written completely out, which was years in the making.
