Loved this scene and the conversation with the three of them. We learned about Tim's mom having the same issues as Nathan's dad. You could feel Nathan's emotions coming through and letting him talk about his struggles. Great job Heartland!!
Nathan 👍 went fishing with Jack. @lindahowell1415 I never thought he would be a good match for Amy, but last night I thought maybe he would? It would definitely be a healthier love as it's developed over a long time.
I've got a hard time with Caleb working at being a better friend to Amy than he is working at being a father to his own son. That does not set well with me as a "love" interest for Amy and her daughter. Caleb has his priorities wrong. Father first to his son. @@abbykoop5363
@@deans178 That's part of my issue too. Last season he was struggling to connect with Carson, telling Amy he buys his love (like with Donut the pony). And Carson choosing to live with his mom when asked. Now this season we're supposed to take his word that he's father of the year, when his new flying job takes him all over, and during his off time he's at Heartland? Caleb has been written as an impulsive ladies man, and a bit flakey-- up to now. But in 1 or 2 episodes he's instantly mature/reformed, and Amy's making heart eyes after he's made her see him in a "new light" (as Lou suggested in ep5). Who cares about what everything Nathan has done for her & her family, (despite their constant mistreatment), and her mixed signals to Nathan, but her claim he's not trying hard enough. Incidentally they've only known each other about 3 months in the show's timeline. And they officially haven't started dating yet, because as she said in the episode, she applied the breaks (in 7), but they sure looked cozy at the picnic table at end of 8..
This is so heart wrenching and heart warming at the same time! And this is what Heartland's used to be. The writers are doing a great job this season, I really really appreciate and love the new mature and realistic vibe and the return to the more common family matters. It gets you by the feels and that's wonderful. Love Nathan and all the good stuff he's adding to this family. He would be a great addition, first of all to love Amy, to help raise and love Lyndi, help Jack (and Lou, though she doesn't deserve it!) with the ranch when Tim will leave, and so on, and so on... I'd fall for him, hard 😂❤
Its nice to see Nathan, Jack and Tim getting along. I really hope this means the feud is finally over. Maybe just maybe Amy and Nathan will finally have a chance at a relationship.
I really like really like watching heartland tv show i really like the three of them. Learning about Tim’s mom having the same issues as Nathan’s dad yes you could feel Nathan’s emotions coming through!!!
Nathan is a gem. For E10 I hope they don't leave us hanging with Amy and him . I can't wait to watch them unfold naturally in ranch , horse life with sweet Lyndy
This "Heartland" clip hits so close to home. I was my Mom's Caregiver for a little over 2 years. She had Dementia, which worked itself into Alzheimer's. I began watching "Heartland" during the time I cared for her. Those moments of downtime & watching this show was my lifeline. It actually saved me......
Yeah! A good person who is dealing with so much, and doesn't always know how to talk about it. (Or even if he should be talking about it. Health issues can be so personal!) I really love that Jack and Tim can give him support and encouragement. Sometimes guys need other guys who can understand.
Loved this episode!! Glad Jack/Tim/Nathan were able to find a way to get along and (hopefully) fix the business stuff. It was nice to see Tim open up as well. Just glad the fishing trip wasn't focused on intentions towards Amy. Not feeling it with Nathan at all. It was so refreshing (and felt like old times!) to have Caleb back and their moments together are so much better! Really hoping Amy realizes she's been distracted by wanting it to work with Nathan (despite repeatedly acknowledging he's not what she wants him to be which sounds a lot like Caleb...), but that Caleb is the better choice for her! Also great to see Jessica, Lisa, and Katie herding cattle. And what a cliffhanger for Lou!! Can't wait to see how things wrap up but wish the seasons were a little longer!
@@jeannelandree3148 Agree to disagree. She doesn't like change & he's been her rock through some really tough times. She's already lost Ty and can't lose him too. But she initially rejected Ty because she didn't want their friendship to change either, and she was really into Caleb in S2 before he screwed up spending too much time with Ashley (which she was jealous about). So not counting it out just yet. I'm fine as long as their friendship remains intact, I just have a hard time with the sibling concept after all that. If they don't get together I'd rather they hadn't renewed his feelings at all. Just makes it weird/sad if it's not going anywhere. And she did marry her best friend the first time...
GREAT EPISODE! ❤made me cry😢so scared for poor Lou, over all a great proformance by everyone, nailbiter, going to miss it again after next weekend 😒here's to season 19🥂🍀🤞💕🌠✨️never thought I'd say this but I'm finally over ty and eager to move on, waiting for that kiss, I was starting to wonder what was going to happen, but now your melting my heart.🤣😂😆Thanks To All The Cast and Crew, and CBC.👍💞💕🌹
Aw! This was such a good scene. It was nice to see Jack and Tim go quite easy on Nathan instead of the usual full on 😂 You could see how Nathan enjoyed himself and also I think he liked having people to talk to and confide in. He’s been on his own with his Dad and he has isolated himself. He admitted how much he was struggling but also would feel guilty if he wasn’t there to look after his Dad himself. He needs to be with Amy and allow himself to be happy. Let himself be part of another family who could also be there for his Dad. I like Caleb as a friend for Amy but that’s all. I really hope she doesn’t end up with him even though he keeps popping up all of the time 🙄 This episode leaving us on a cliffhanger 😳 Great episode though. I think Lou going through this might put things into perspective for her with how she has been acting and maybe she will change her ways going forward after going through this scare.
My sister and I are currently taking care of our 91 year old mother who has Alzheimer's.... It is hands down one of the hardest things you will ever have to do. It's like a very long goodbye..... Each day brings something different and them being further away 😞. I love this show so much and I'm grateful that they touched on such a tough subject. There are many people that are dealing with aging parents
Having trouble loading the episode for some reason.. it keeps saying error unable to watch. I am hoping I can watch it soon. I live in Canada and I'm watching it on CBC Gem like I always do.
Nathan is a bit of a wet fish. I really feel for him going through what he is with his dad, but I'm wishing Amy would get together with Caleb (words I *never* thought I'd say), and it looks like heartland just might let us get to see that happen based on this episode! Ahhh!! They've really been teasing the Nathan angle this whole time and I want Amy to be happy but I'm just really not feeling it with Nathan.
your ok with caleb even though he's abandoned his son and hangs out chasing Amy? That doesn't work for me. Father first always, not girl chaser first. at least Nathan has his priorities right - family comes first.
@@deans178 How has he abandoned Carson? He literally moved several hours AWAY from Amy and his career and started over in order to be close to his son but he has to share custody with Cass meaning he actually CAN'T be with him all the time which he clearly hates but is trying to make the best of a bad situation and be as close as he can be. He talked THIS EPISODE about working on school projects with him and how much it meant for him to get things back on track for him. How is he a bad person for wanting to go see other people he cares about to distract himself on days off when he can't be with his kid?!
@@nerdywriterkat I find his words ironic about Nathan not trying hard enough with Amy. Perhaps he didn't try hard enough with his first 2 wives.. I really don't get where Amy is coming from. Nathan has met all her demands & wishes. She is the one who hasn't properly met him half way. Not to mention in the timeline of the show they've only known each other for 2 or 3 months. They haven't officially started dating yet. She's been the one putting the breaks on the relationship. (And if he had been more forceful after she's backed away, then viewers would have his hide for that.) In my opinion, he has been fighting for her, but not in the adolescent/first love sort of way. Forgiving her for divulging personal family business, that lead to losing a source of income to support his father is no small thing. (Then he tried to "put a fence around their relationship", but as she comes as a package deal with her family-- a family who has done everything to sabotage their relationship, and whom she can't seem to stand up to-- it was again a stale mate situation.) If the shoe had been on her foot, I'd like to see how she would have responded. Regardless, having Amy make it abundantly clear last season & this that Caleb and herself is just friends, is going to make her look very fickle if she all of a sudden changes her tune. They did this same thing on another show ("When Calls the Heart"), and it hasn't set well with a lot of their viewers.
and yet here Caleb is again, chasing his best friends widow(!)without his son, like the same immature love-strucked-blind teenager he was and still is inside. You could be under the impression that he does so out of loneliness, because Amy is the only part of his 'old' life that connects him to Ty etc... but that is not a healthy way to cope and much more, not a healthy and good basis/foundation for a romantic relationship. Looking for love on the wrong side of the fence, again, with a woman who doesn't want him, again(!), instead of focussing on loving and caring for his own son and finally finding a woman to settle down with. He's a good lass, but he's been that all along the ride. Caleb has a good ❤and is a good friends and I wish him well and that he'll find somebody save and stable. To ground him. Caleb doesn't show signs of changing in the ways that matter, unlike Nathan, who battled through his own insecurities for Amy. And fighting yourself is the hardest fight you can do.
The real success of Heartland was and still is the Amy and Ty love story. The dating in the season 18 trailer and the current episodes especially Amy's relationship with Nathan is simply the writers attempt to keep the storyline interesting, and not boring.Assuming Ty doesn't return the writers will conclude the series with Amy unable to accept another(not just because Ty can't be replaced} because of her continuing strong love and feelings for Ty. She will conclude that her peace and happiness is with her as a single mother raising Lindy in the manner Ty would have wanted. In my opinion, because we had 14 years of this remarkable love story, whereby the viewers got to intimately know Ty, it makes it nearly impossible to erase him from the viewers minds and on a larger scale future Heartland seasons. It's a testament toTy's impact on the series, in that he still remains the topic of much fan discussion and love even though he has been missing for over 4 years.
@josephfratto Heartland is not a fantasy sci-fi show or even a soap opera. The video's posted on YT & elsewhere claiming Ty is returning in the current season, are clickbate, and have no basis in reality. The actor himself had planned his exit years in advance. He's also repeatedly said he's not returning on his podcast show. He's moved on from acting. So to "assume that Ty doesn't return", is a given, because the character can't be resurrected from de*th, or does the actor wish it. I get that fans liked the character, but just as in real life when a spouse passes away, it's perfectly acceptable for the living one to find love again, and even re-marry. That is what they're trying to portray here. So for those who can't accept Amy moving on, it's probably best to find another show with character's you're equally invested in.
