Our 18 Grand Cherokee has that annoying feature. Like your Mercedes, it has a button to turn it off and will stay off until you turn car off. But I have to say, the salesman actually told us there was no way to disable it.
I've got the same car. That's not the way you activate that system. After you start the car when your going to drive it, you just hit the button below the starter switch and it's deactivated until you park the car and shut the engine off. Doesn't bother me at all. Not good for that turbo engine to be cycled on and off every time you stop the vehicle.
I think he fibbed to you. It would be against regulations for the manufacturer to engineer a way to permanently bypass it. The only way I've ever seen to permanently bypass the auto stop/start is aftermarket.
My dad has a 2019 F150 and he hates the auto stop/start button. There is a mod for F150 where you can plug in an interface that changes default to “off” for auto stop/start. Maybe someone offers it for a Merc also?
I have a tundra and glad it doesn’t have this garbage! My brother has a F-150 and he has one of those brake light led strip in back that plugs into his trailer light connection.....disables auto stop/start! If you have trailer light connection maybe it will work for this?
Why does it matter? I hate the start/stop so I just make it a habit to hit it after I turn the car on. You literally just have to hit the start button and immediately move your finger down half an inch and turn it off lol I bought two Mercedes in the last year and they are both like this. I don’t get why it’s a big deal lol
My F150’s auto stop is smooth compared to my 2020 Chrysler Pacifica’s, I hate both, the Chrysler has a 3.6 compared to the tiny 2.7, might be engine size. On both you have to disable it every time you restart. As a salesman I can truthfully tell you I have never lied or ever known a salesperson to tell a lie😗 to make a sale

I’m just still shocked that you picked a Mercedes. Hmm 🤔 are you sure about this?
I think I may have upset him.
You can't permanently shut it off, but it has to meet certain parameters to work, during the winter it usually wont work due to the outside temp.
Yep. I drove a 250. That was the one reason I did not buy in the past.

A crazy person at Walmart is unheard of 😃

Did you read the owners manual?

I have a switch I have to remember to hit to turnoff and when it is 116 plus and the A/C turns off at a light it sucks.

Hey Gear!……news flash, they all lie! That’s their job! Trained professional liars!
Andy...bless your heart...you weren’t meant to do Mercedes reviews. lol
Never believe the salesman. It's his job to lie.
100% true in most occasions. I will say the place we bought the vehicle at, that was one of the most straight shooting salesmen I’ve ever dealt with.
@@gearrunner maybe he didn’t lie, maybe he was just wrong 🙂
I know that is a feature on the new cars i just don’t like it. Hopefully you find s way to disable it! 👍
You think auto stop/start would wear everything out a lot quicker than normal.. don't think I would care for that!!! regards
Should have gotten a 4 runner pro.
Pre-Mature Exciteration!! Lol
Do it through the settings..!
I’ll go through and see if I can find it
Haha! Exciteration!!!
