  • Today we take a look at Decathlon Distribution Centre, Thomas Dachser Way, Northampton NN4 7HT.
We speak to security and a female member of staff who where not as welcoming as the final 2 staff members who fully redeemed the situation in my opinion.
    Credit to them.

What great representatives of the business Alistair and Chris are. Such a shame that the other two were so ignorant and Karen in particular wasn’t prepared to listen at all. I hope that the business commends A & C and makes an attempt to educate Karen - or ensure that she doesn’t engage with the public at all in the future.

That Karen was hilarious, she stomped over, all hyperventilating. There's always one. Everyone else was just fine. The two guys at the end were really good....especially Alister who actually wanted to educate himself and was really decent about it. That doesn't happen all that often does it. I could tell when he was walking over, that he was going to be fine. His body language was relaxed, unlike Karen who looked like she was on a forced march with the Army (tab). I'm pretty sure that staff will be giving her a wind up about this one.

They provided loads of useful information about the site and future possible expansion such as renting the pitches out but also maintained confidentiality so as to not compromise their business and security. Great that security were alert to you being there and challenging you but not overstepping boundaries. The only person that can be criticised in any way was the woman who came out with a combatative attitude and tried implying you could not do what you were doing when she didn't know what was going on.

Where I work , the silo's contain the water and the building nearby is the pump house which contains an electric pump , a diesel pump and a jockey pump. It gets tested weekly. Normally it would set the fire alarm off if the relevant zones of the fire alarm were not disabled.

Always amazes me to see how people who don't know the law or have sufficient knowledge on a subject just talk a load of rubbish & expect others to follow their instructions.
If you are unsure or don't know at least admit it & seek assistance. Many people would be happy to help you.
    Well done DJ.

The Decathlon Distribution Centre opened around 2019. Inside they use Mecalux shelving units and note it as an omnichannel warehouse and provides some of the building specs. The 257,000 sqft unit replacing their nearby unit when their lease expired in 2018 and added 100k warehouse space.
Warehouse lighting was installed by Swann Lighting with specs and numerous interior pictures on their project case study.
