Here is link to new new tutorial that covers basics of HTool 4.x ua-cam.com/video/3ATRZ-ox5s8/v-deo.html . It coverts: Hair System Overview, some of input mask + deformers, I explain hair system types, material settings, texture baking, working with UVs etc.
Hi, your addon is brilliant. I was very enthusiastic about it so I bought Hair Tool 4. But you don't have tutorial for it, only for what is new! And for each version you show what is new versus old - this is unusable for a NEW customer/beginner like me, who bought a version and don't know how to use it. I feel this is only for experienced users - is like a party for alumni to which us the new customers/beginners don't have invitation and are left outside. Please make a full tutorial for each major version! For example for Hair Tool 4 make a full tutorial showing the entire workflow from start to finish - how to use Hair Tool 4 to make short hair, long hair, curly hair, dreadlocks, faded hair, maybe even how to integrate with other software like Fibershop, how to make a custom hair based on CONCEPT (in practice you cannot do everything procedurally, you need to adjust at strand level..), maybe even fur for a creature concept. I think is normal request - you sell a product so show how to use it. Make it even paid , just make full tutorial
I hear your. How about this, if your comment gets more than 10 likes I will know there is demand for some basics video tutorials, and will make some? I plan to make some videos anyway, but I just want to know if the ones covering the basics are needed.
@@bartoszstyperek6306 fair enough. And to be fair all the way I will not press Like myself too :)) I think you add value with your addons (also Garment tool is fantastic for Blender users), wish you great success and keep it going!
While new tutorials definitely are needed, I don't see this being so different from hair tool 3 as for those tutorials to no longer apply, everything seems to be in the same places beside some of the new things
@@Asphyr So, you are one of the alumni from the party - hope the DJ is good and are not too tired :) I am glad we agree on the fact that new tutorials are needed. Have fun!
@@dragosoprea8354 Didn't mean at all to downplay the importance of new videos, but if there is a hairtool 3 video, the video very likely works as is. Jumping back to hairtool 2 would be completely different. Definitely worth joining the discord to ask what videos are still good.
Hi Bartosz, brilliant addon as it has been for the past few years!! I just got around to buying it and I'm really loving it, but as someone already mentioned - basic hairstyle and basic tutorials for the new version would be really appreciated. I'm looking into how to make basic hair styles and I need to do those, so it would mean a lot to me if there was a tutorial on making a short hairstyle, a long hair style, how to tweak them to make them either curly or wavy. A tutorial on how to make a hair do with a pony tail, etc. That would be brilliant!! So far, I am stuck and sort of not following easily on the Track Mesh modeling hair tutorial. I understand the concept, but seeing how the addon and UI changed a bit since the tut has been released its a bit confusing to follow. It'd mean a lot to get those things covered. Thanks and keep rocking bro!
yes, I was maintaining some my other addons. But now I should have time for new tutorials. About curly hair - just change profile: joseconseco.github.io/HairTool_3_Documentation/hair_profiles/#curls-profile. Track to mesh - imagine that you glue roots of hair to your base (source mesh - scalp) and hair tips - glue them to guide mesh. This way if u sculpt guide mesh , hair tips will follow. The actual gluing is done when u press 'bind button' (before that u may see the hair are sliding around the guide mesh)
The hair I add is invisible, even after importing default hair material. It shows on the hair panel that it has HT_Default_Material, and UV_Data. The shadows even appear on the scalp. The hair is just not there. Is this a bug? I am struggling to find a fix.
in theory I think it would be possible to back-port this to HTool 3, but this feature affected quite a bit of files so it would be not that straightforward to move it back to ver 3...
I am just starting to be able to follow you as you have a heavy accent. However several times you go muffled as you were not near the mic. The new changes look great but are difficult for us new/beginners to follow as they go fast. Thanks for the updates.
yes, the muted sound is due to to heavy noise cancellation or something similar. The 'decaly' value is to high, so after bigger volume spike it mutes everything for like 1-2 secs. Will try to tweak it.
i am so confused on how to use this addon, i just bought it and its so confusing to use. can you do a full comprehensive tutorial on how to use this addon? like every single thing, i have search and search and can't fine any video that shows how to use this addon comprehensively especially as a beginner. its just short shorts videos that are either very old or not complete. its very frustrating if you ask me and i have read your comment and find that many others share the same concern. if i keep trying and cant help it i will ask for a refund cause this is really frustrating. please help out please, i love this addon and have been following it for years. just make a full tutorial or ask some one else to do it, too many moving parts but no one knows how to use it, let alone enjoy it.
The new tutorial is coming, explaining basics things from zero. I just received bunch of updates from one of custormes, who is coder and wanted some features. So I had to pause tutorial and implement these - otherwise people would complain, the that tutorial is out of date again. The addon is to big for 'everyting tutorial' - best start is to go to: joseconseco.github.io/HairTool_3_Documentation/#quick-start . I hope I will finish implementing new stuff this week, and finally make the video. If you want refund then send me info on discord.
Good luck finding one - with better docs that this joseconseco.github.io/HairTool_3_Documentation/. I can bet you , that there is none - if you find one I can give you for free copy of DrawXray + VPSmoothing (bundle)

amazing
Do not forget to rate the addon if u did not already ;)
Maximum nice :)

0:42 = YESSS!!! Question: Can this be done in B4.1? I am not planning to move away from B4.1 for a long time.
Just by curiosity... why are you sticking to version 4.1 when 4.2 is LTS (Long Term Support) ?
@@moonthurst EEVEE compiles long shader trees in seconds, only once. Not so, in 4.2+

Did you enable multi threaded compilation for shaders? See www.threads.net/@aaronin3d/post/C-QSM5pJk3_?hl=en in B 4.2

Does this still work for character creator 4? Thanks

I thought this was old because of the UI but it was YESTERDAY!
Yeah this still modern Blender just set to Light Mode
Amazing addon but awful tutorials, I prefer to buy another addon with more documentation -5 stars
