Hey bro what I would do if you had to do this again is I would take a 2x6 and box in those two 2x4 that are sandwiched together above, that you screwed into. The reason being is you won't notice it anyway plus if you did that it gives the fan much better security especially with the weight of the fan along with vibration. Also whenever you are putting in a ceiling fan I never use the provided screws that they give you to attach the fan to the ceiling I always use something with a course thread like a #10, 2.5", 8 mm hex head screw with the Phillips drive head embedded in the head. You did awesome but I just wanted to point that out to anybody else like myself who will be capitalizing on this idea. 😅
Great guy man seen you did the projector screen also i thought of that also and the fan going add leds also speakers in all 4 corners 👍
Dude, that looks great. Awesome job.
Thanks!
thanks for sharing. I used some cheap small screw hooks and secured them to the top of the wood on the perimeter. This helps to clean the wires up so they arent draped over/hanging. Thanks again for setting this video up. If your curious, I put a video of my setup on my page.
Clean setup!
@@RaoulRowe thanks!
Thanks for sharing! It looks great! How has the fan held up in the wind? Does is move back an fourth and hit the beam?
Wind is really not a factor! A little sway when it use but nothing bad at all. Just added switches - ua-cam.com/video/bTy3JimzcB4/v-deo.html
How about the rod in the middle will it hold a fan up 😊
Yes sir, still holding!
Looks great!
I know im late, but did you have to make a cutout for the cable to clear the housing
All good still here, the housing diameter in relation to the needed space for the cable was enough to fit the cable through. No cutout was needed. The top of my gazebo beams were not as even, so I had to make a few cuts to have the housing sit level at the top.
Hi Raoul! How long was the down rod you needed to allow the fan to clear the cross ties? We are building our 12x14 footer as we speak!
Hi Laura, I used the 18in downrod - www.lowes.com/pd/Harbor-Breeze-18-in-Walnut-Steel-Indoor-Ceiling-Fan-Downrod/4582337
Hope this helps!
@@RaoulRowe awesome, thank you so much! It definitely does.
Nice job, thanks for taking the time to share this.
Very welcome!!
Thanks for the video! It was helpful and your commentary made me smile :) Did you ever happen to link the fan/size you installed? I really like it!
Haha, glad you enjoyed it. Here is the link to the fan, it was a 52'' - low.es/2W2eZN8
Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks!
Looks really nice do you know what the centre height of the roof is on the inside Indie you know the true measurement on the ground to post to post
How long of a downrod did you use? 18 or 24 inches?
Stayed on the safe side and went with 24.
Thank you! Thinking the same as well.
@@RaoulRowe you said in the video comments you used the 18 in? but here you said the 24 can you clarify... I am looking at fans now to be installed.. what size fan? I was thinking about 52 to 56 inch?
How well did the fan work? Was the air flow good?
So, just for anyone else that is curious, i followed these instructions with a slightly different fan with great results. On low and medium the feel is light. On high there is an obvious movement of air. I am really glad we did it. Hipe this helps someone else, who may be on the edge in regards to add a fan or not.
@@kwacasey Thanks for the update!
So have a question, yardestry said the structure is rated for sometime up to 50lbs. I emailed them because I wanted to attach a sail shade at one end. Anyway. How did the wood hold up with the fan ? And could you run the fan speed on high without any issues ?
@@santo3152 the fan held up great! I would say if anything its about how sturdy you can the mount. The longer the down rod the more play comes in as you set the speed higher. So far no issues on my end with speed on high.
Hello y’all I mounted my fan using a 2x4 fixed across the 2 perpendicular 2x4s already up there. My down rod is only bout 7”. Very stable and the 2x4 I added matches nice, so it looks kinda like it came with the kit!
Thats cool. Like the looks of your gazebo.
Thanks!
Did this come with the longer down rod?
Down rod sold separately, come in different sizes.
Thanks for the video can’t wait to install my own
How long is the down rod?
18in Thanks!
Damn son it looks cool
Cool vid
Anyone ever watched phillyboyjaycookingshow? Dude sound just like him lol THE BESTTT 😂😂
Had to go look this guy up and... damn, you have a point. haha
Just added switches! ua-cam.com/video/bTy3JimzcB4/v-deo.html
