I too had a fall recently. As I was entering the sanctuary at church, where there was at least 500 in attendance! I stumbled on the carpet, went down face first. Now I’m 81, but managed to roll over and immediately was surrounded by church members helping me up. I wasn’t hurt but so embarrassed. A few hours later, thinking about the fall, to save my pride I should have started rolling around on the floor, shouting Hallelujah 😂!! At least people might of thought I was slain in the Spirit, instead of clumsily falling on my face! Hope my story brings a smile to your face. I’ll be praying for your complete recovery Granny Pat, because I love you!!❤

I’ve been a caregiver for my 84 year old mom for almost 9 years. Jan or someone definitely needs to coordinate some home care visits or something. If you fall at home alone, without a lifealert button or someone checking on you, you may end up lying there for hours and we don’t want that to happen🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

You look pretty good already. I don't think I told you, but I am an Emergency Department RN, so, for what it's worth, the aches, "off kilter" feeling is from the fall and will pass with time. Oh my. Those head wounds can be so tricky and dangerous. I bonked my head last yr, got a good bump then it jacked up my vision. I'm still dealing with multiple issues that arise from it. I sware it should not have caused so much but as I mentioned those head wounds are tricky. You definitely get rested and pay close attention to any changes. Don't hesitate to go to the ER if anything happens or gets worse. Time is of the essence as they say. Mine seemed to start healing some then one evening about a month or so later, as I was talking to my brother in the hallway, I felt odd like someone was pushing me down, back and to the left. I got concerned and ended up on the floor. Then everything went all haywire till I ended up projectile vomiting right before the EMTs got here. You know those first responders seem to have to pass an attractive test to get hired, lol. So, you just never know if or when anything can change, Just take it easy. We know how much you like the humorous stories but your safety is far more important. Much love to you Granny Pat 😘

Granny Patricia 😇, i feel so strongly that someone needs to be with you in your home for a few days, like 3 or 4, till a full week passes. If not in your home then a person you trust should check in on you in the mornings and a couple more times in the day. I remember the story of you falling into the plastic bin and no one was near to cry out to for help. Funny story but yet you don’t want a repeat of it. I'm so sorry to hear of your fall. These are really scary at our age! As a retired nurse and an older person, I want you to take care of yourself; I'm sure they already told you to check in with your doctor. He might suggest Physical Therapy and if he does go! I learned a lot after a fall I had and there are exercises that will help and techniques they can show you that will help keep you safe. Anything to keep us independent and going:) I'm 79 myself, and have learned to take extra care with my old bones - I want to _stay_ independent as long as I can! And that cane is _gorgeous_! Ny husband and I just saw your video from yesterday Granny Pat. We'll be lifting you up in prayer. Very sorry that this happened, head injuries are frightening. Listen my dear, you have nothing to be sorry about with affecting an event. We're not pitying you, we're sharing God's love and grace. Eight yrs ago I suffered multiple ABIs (acquired brain injuries), and had to re-learn basic normal functions. It makes you realize so many of God's blessings. My husband and I both are disabled and deal with chronic pain. So when the pain becomes overwhelming, I just remind myself how grateful I am to be able to feel.💜🧠🕊

Stephen Hollen helped us through, though he was the most shaken up of anyone, I imagine. He did a wonderful job trying to keep us informed and help us through. Please be careful around those pups. My dad's orthopedic doctor said pets are a huge cause of falls in the household. They love us so much but can really throw us off balance and can get underfoot very quickly. Wishing you all the best as you recover. ❤

We have backup. My cousin lives 5 minutes away and will be checking on her. She’s much better today. Jan

I'm so sorry to hear of your fall. These are really scary at our age! As a retired nurse and an older person, I want you to take care of yourself; I'm sure they already told you to check in with your doctor. He might suggest Physical Therapy and if he does go! I learned a lot after a fall I had and there are exercises that will help and techniques they can show you that will help keep you safe. Anything to keep us independent and going:) I'm 79 myself, and have learned to take extra care with my old bones - I want to _stay_ independent as long as I can!
And that cane is _gorgeous_! You will have even more style than you already have🥰

Eight yrs ago I suffered multiple ABIs (acquired brain injuries), and had to re-learn basic normal functions. It makes you realize so many of God's blessings. My husband and I both are disabled and deal with chronic pain. So when the pain becomes overwhelming, I just remind myself how grateful I am to be able to feel.💜🧠🕊

Yes you precious darling woman, prayers of gratitude for young rescuing muscle who are expert in gently handling us fossils, we have fallen too and know firsthand how it feels to be rescued...the older we get the father down the floor gets... tears bespeak how beloved you are, so happy you are up and chatty and feeling sooo much better, love and praise to God

Could you tell me who Steven is that that granny is talking about and also she needs to know that she needs to get a cane and habit fit to her because I just needed to get a cane and I had to have it fitted to me I understand and thank you my name is Carole and I live in Terre Haute Indiana. I love listening to her talk I haven’t seen Granny in ages and when I got on UA-cam there she was she’s just what I need back in my life. OK you can understand I’m 83 years old so I think she and I are kind of close in agethank you❤

Stephen Hollen helped us through, though he was the most shaken up of anyone, I imagine. He did a wonderful job trying to keep us informed and help us through. Please be careful around those pups. My dad's orthopedic doctor said pets are a huge cause of falls in the household. They love us so much but can really throw us off balance and can get underfoot very quickly. Wishing you all the best as you recover. ❤
