Oh my goodness. I too collect any old broken jewelry. My friends give me any they have. I absolutely love any beads, and odds and ends you can get from these pieces. Nothing is so relaxing as to sit, watch (listen to) TV, and "tear apart" these beauties. I make many beautiful things with what others would consider trash or junk. But to us who love such things, they are treasures just waiting to be remade into beautiful pieces. The enameled flower heart shadow box, was gorgeous and I have many of these kinds of flowers. What a wonderful idea. Thank you so much for your show and tell of Vintage jewels. You and I have alot in common. I love collecting vintage glassware, broken and vintage jewelry and cooking. I remember what my dad used to say. Anybody can have a college education if they are willing to work for it. He went to the 8th grade. He educated himself through correspondence courses. My grandmother would call it a “gown day”. When maybe she didn’t feel good physically, or maybe she was sad about something, so she’d stay in her gown all day and just let herself rest. We all need those “gown days” sometimes. I do hope you are feeling better soon!

Pat, I cannot tell you how much I enjoy you telling about interesting things you have done and those you plan to do! Those art pieces you have made with jewelry are beautiful! You are truly gifted! If I had any of that kind of jewelry, I would gladly send it to you. Over the years, I have moved several times and I got rid of it. My hobby is crocheting and I’ve given away most of the afghans I’ve made! I have yet to make one for my daughter, so she will get the next one I make! My mother made many beautiful quilts and she sold many of them and she gave some to me. Your quilt is beautiful! You are truly a gifted lady!
Don’t forget to keep part of your work for yourself. I gave away nearly everything I made, even my wedding dress. My mother crocheted all her life. I hav a tablecloth she made before I was born.

Your use of pieces of vintage jewelry is wonderful; so beautiful. A suggestion if you would prefer glass for some of your frames; go to the hardware store & ask to have them cut a piece of glass to the size you need. I did this for some frames I had which did not have the glass & it was not expensive. Praying you get relief for your face pain.
Good deal on pretty robes, Pat. And you’ve got us all enamored of your beautiful work. I went right in my bedroom and got out my grandma’s brooch sets. She wore a different one every day, with matching earrings. I never saw my grandma in slacks until she was in her seventies, always a dress with “hose.”🙂

I will be praying your doctor helps you and you are healed from it soon. I am disabled and have lived with chronic pain for many years so I know it can sometimes be overwhelming. I absolutely love the gorgeous artwork you create with the vintage jewelry. Many years ago my husband's aunt made a Christmas tree that was framed on red velvet. Hello granny, Pat :-) I am a new subscriber, and I am loving your stories. I am 98% blind and I loved listening to my parents and grandparents when they told me stories. You bring me so much joy listening to all of your stories and memories. You’ve even encouraged me to look for a craft that I can do in my spare time. I have my three granddaughters who are under five years old and one grandson on the way. When we have family dinner, I get down and play with them and even make simple things in the kitchen. I want them to have good memories of their Nammy living a fun life, even when there are difficulties. You don’t know how much you’ve encouraged me, and I want you to know how special that is to me. I saw you video on Jadeite and was quite interested. Although my family has always treasured antiques I had never heard of Jadeite. So I researched it on Google and learned more about it. Yes, the dentist sometimes hits a nerve, causing neuropathy. It happened to my dad. It happened on the toe surgery of my friend.

I had lost both sets of grandparents and my parents early both grandparents by age 11 and mother by22 then father by 31.

My grandmother would call it a “gown day”. When maybe she didn’t feel good physically, or maybe she was sad about something, so she’d stay in her gown all day and just let herself rest. We all need those “gown days” sometimes. I do hope you are feeling better soon!

It sounds like symptoms of Trigeminal Neuralgia that you have. A extremely painful nerve problem. There is a fix for it. I’m sorry you are having so much pain. Your lovely creations with old jewelry are stunning. Looking forward to seeing the Christmas trees you are planning on making.

Pat, I cannot tell you how much I enjoy you telling about interesting things you have done and those you plan to do! Those art pieces you have made with jewelry are beautiful! You are truly gifted! If I had any of that kind of jewelry, I would gladly send it to you. Over the years, I have moved several times and I got rid of it. My hobby is crocheting and I’ve given away most of the afghans I’ve made! I have yet to make one for my daughter, so she will get the next one I make! My mother made many beautiful quilts and she sold many of them and she gave some to me. Your quilt is beautiful! You are truly a gifted lady!
Don’t forget to keep part of your work for yourself. I gave away nearly everything I made, even my wedding dress. My mother crocheted all her life. I hav a tablecloth she made before I was born.

Your use of pieces of vintage jewelry is wonderful; so beautiful. A suggestion if you would prefer glass for some of your frames; go to the hardware store & ask to have them cut a piece of glass to the size you need. I did this for some frames I had which did not have the glass & it was not expensive. Praying you get relief for your face pain.

Good deal on pretty robes, Pat. And you’ve got us all enamored of your beautiful work. I went right in my bedroom and got out my grandma’s brooch sets. She wore a different one every day, with matching earrings. I never saw my grandma in slacks until she was in her seventies, always a dress with “hose.”🙂

I could listen to your stories all day. I do plan to go back and watch them all. I do want to say that I am very sorry you are experiencing this terrible pain. I will be praying your doctor helps you and you are healed from it soon. I am disabled and have lived with chronic pain for many years so I know it can sometimes be overwhelming. I absolutely love the gorgeous artwork you create with the vintage jewelry. Many years ago my husband's aunt made a Christmas tree that was framed on red velvet. I thought that was absolutely stunning then and always wanted to try and collect the jewelry to make one. Well, your designs are absolute masterpieces. I have never seen such beautiful artwork. Hello granny, Pat :-) I am a new subscriber, and I am loving your stories. I am 98% blind and I loved listening to my parents and grandparents when they told me stories. You bring me so much joy listening to all of your stories and memories. You’ve even encouraged me to look for a craft that I can do in my spare time. I have my three granddaughters who are under five years old and one grandson on the way. When we have family dinner, I get down and play with them and even make simple things in the kitchen. I want them to have good memories of their Nammy living a fun life, even when there are difficulties. You don’t know how much you’ve encouraged me, and I want you to know how special that is to me. I had jaw surgery about 25 years ago and it helped. I am afraid it is bothering me again. The headaches and jaw pain are bad. I am thankful that I don’t have anything any worse tho. I so,understand your pain. I first thought it was your tooth as well. I wonder if dentist got to close to a nerve? I hope and pray you will be feeling better soon. Good Morning, Granny Pat, I'm really sorry to hear about the pain in your face. You are a real trooper to endure it for 3 weeks until your doctor's appointment. I saw you video on Jadeite and was quite interested. Although my family has always treasured antiques I had never heard of Jadeite. So I researched it on Google and learned more about it. I do have one piece of Corning Ware and I use to have the handle that clips onto it. My sister in Florida use to own an Antique Shop so I'm going to call her today and see if she is familiar with Jadeite.
