I love how dragons are not only a ubiquitous cultural reference, but an everyday insult: "Cafodd y ddraig anrheg newydd ddoe -- tost!" (The dragon got a new present yesterday -- toast!) 😂

It's wider than modern writers will usually admit, and lots of people don't pay attention to how invasions changed some close related languages. Are you willing to be bilingual? because to really speak old Gaelic that would be necessary.

Keep doing Duolingo and start working your way through Gaelic Foundations. If you don't have much time, do some Duo, and then later when you have more time do one of his lessons. :)
Hey! Love the vid :) I'm from Scotland and writing a children's book with Scottish mythological creatures- any chance you know how to pronounce the word 'Beithir'? Type of dragon like creature can't seem to get an answer on that!
The story of John de Somerville slaying the Worm of Linton sounds a lot like St. George and the Dragon. Even down to the way both men slayed their respective dragons; on horseback, with a lance.
