I'm really glad you made this video, I'm 18 years old and will admit I can be very rowdy at times especially when I go out with my friends. What you talked about in this video really made me realize that I'm a fully grown man now and I want to be recognized by others as a competent, upstanding, and respectable person. People such as yourself are the main reason I'm glad I started pipe smoking, as the community has a great amount of wisdom and thought processes that I wouldn't have thought of on my own. Thank you sir.
Sosic you may only be 18 but, in this comment, you do one of the most important and respectfully dignified things anyone can do. You thanked a stranger to you. Gratitude is a rare commodity these days and to share it is a definite sign of strong character, be you 18 or 80. Top stuff.
I wholeheartedly agree with you on every point you made. As a Christian and also a pipe smoker this should be how I carry myself in public as well as in the home. Thank you so much for reminding me of these things. I found this video entry to be very touching and one of you're best. I really would like for pipe smoking to be looked upon as a gentlemen's art like it once was viewed as a few decades ago. You are absolutely right.
I've watched many of your videos but this one, by far, was the most important one of them all. You are a true gentleman and its an honor to find people such as you on UA-cam today. If only every man were to behave as such a gentleman, we would find more to enjoy on here as well as in daily life.
Randy Tuggle - Thank you for your kind words my friend. On my death bed, I want to look back at my life, and ask myself, did you make a difference in someone's life? And do you have any regrets? If the answers are yes, and no, then I can die in peace. 👍👍👍
Randy Tuggle it is gentlemanly that Mr Muttnchop regularly adds in his videos that his method for doing something may differ from yours, and that doesn't make yours wrong. That's a great illustration of humility and is why I've thanked him before, and thank him again here now.
Muttnchop, I'm a fellow retired vet and this video really hit home to me. I'm trying not to sound too sappy/emotional, but pipe smoking has taken a heaviness from me opening my eyes again to what kindness and love is compared to what I've seen and experienced over my time if you know what I mean. I'm going to stop here, but thank you from the bottom of my heart.
The Pacific Northwest Pipe Smoker - I understand completely my friend, why is it so hard to be kind, you see someone in need, you offer to help, it makes them feel good, it makes you feel good, it’s the only way to be in life. 👍👍👍
Hi! I'm an italian guy, during this quarantine I started pipe smoking with my father's pipes thanks to this channel. I'm watching all the videos with attention and I wanted to know that this one is really changing my way of thinking. Thank you
Andrea Fasulo Same here. I took a pipe periodically (mostly cold weather) but after being shut in and finding this channel I’ve gone from smoking a pipe to BEING a pipe smoker. It’s been encouraging to watching MCP and having a bowl.
Lovely video, as a young person I greatly respect UA-camrs of an older generation speak about manners and general kindness, it IS something that disappearing, certainly for people of my generation. We could all use a bit more epicureanism in our lives. Many thanks Muttnchop Piper!
I have often said America was at it's strongest in the 1950's. The strength of America was always the nuclear family unit. As the family degraded, so did America. To destroy America, they had to first destroy the family.
You couldn't been more right on what you've said in this great video, sir. I have always believed since I was a child in the 80's watching my dad smoke his pipe in the living room with us that it is gentlemen who smoke pipes. I am proud to be someone who aims to retain chivalry and positive leadership in society today. I'm pleased to have found your channel and especially this video. Thank you for bringing attention to this issue!
i totally agree with you sir, i wish we were back in the times of the early 1900's . There was so much more respect and meaning of respect back then, than there is now days. i have to say honestly, all those qualities you were talking about reflects my qualities and i feel better knowing that i am a gentleman pipe smoker in your eyes. Thanks again.
I’m a new pipe smoker & I’m really enjoying “binging” your UA-cam talks! “Treat every women like a lady” - even the ones with a 5 o’clock shadow? This is an old video, obviously:) My father passed in 2015 at the age of 89. Smoked from 1942 until his passing. University of Chicago & MIT grad. Worked as an engineer to CEO in various electronics firms. Employees loved his pipe smoking - was his “trademark”. I quit cigarette smoking in ‘86 after 15 years of smoking. Now I’m 68 & just started pipe smoking as a retirement hobby. My dad approves I’m sure! Thank you for your videos:) Gary
Completely agree. I'm your age and I've made a decision to address the crassness of today's society by doing what I can on a personal level. That being said I've changed my personal appearance from sweats & t-shirts or ratty jeans to a whole new work attire including slacks & ties. I've always been a stickler for manners, probably because I'm a boomer (I'm 56 like you) & have taught my boys to be respectful to all but especially to women. That means holding doors, chairs & waiting to let them pass first & it pays off. I received a nice comment from two ladies at a store I was going into. They were behind me so I held the door open for them. One said to the other, "it's nice to see gallantry isn't dead". I don't do these things to get compliments but to pay respect to others. I agree with you. If we all treated each other with respect throughout the day society as a whole would improve noticeably. This is biblical & it's common sense. I believe women especially are wanting to see a return to manners & kindly behavior. And I think they'd love to see gallantry return to men. And those ladies were correct; gallantry isn't dead. We just need as men to guide our society by adhering to the old school standards we've left behind & brushed aside as old fashioned or sexist. I hope more men will decide to improve their personal spheres of influence by adopting gentlemanly manners & thereby improving their own corners of society.
John Esparza - John....that was very well said, it makes a difference being kind, and your right we are not kind for the gratitude, but it’s nice when it comes. 👍👍👍
Sir can i say your videos not only teaches us how to treat our pipes and smoking but also how to treat others. Not only in this video but also in your others by the unspoken way you present yourself. You remind me of my late father and what he would say to me. Keep it up we look up to people like yourself. From South Africa with utmost respect, whishing you happy years off smoking.
What wonderful, sage advice. Often, the gentlemen who smoked pipes and inspired us with an example we wish to emulate were the keepers of the keys for grace and wisdom. Coming to the dinner table one evening, my Grandpa asked, "Young man, did you wash your face and hands?" Imagine, not just hands but face and hands. I said, "No sir", and he was patiently angry. He passed one of those keys to me and said, "Sugarboy, a man washes his face and hands before dinner". If a man is smoking a pipe, he has arrived at a certain point in life and made a decision. What a wonderful reminder to ourselves to be gentlemen or gentle ladies and live with class and dignity... and a key ring.
Dear Muttnchop Piper, Just wanted you to know that your videos and advice (not just on piping but on life in general)have been helping me through a tough time in my life currently. I stay half way around the world from where you are. Sir, I just want to say thank you and I really appreciate you sharing your advice and life experiences. I just got some bad and sad news while watching this video and your advice puts things in perspective. Thank you. God bless you and your family.
I've smoked a pipe for many years and watched many many youtube videos made by pipe smokers. This is one of the best. I whole heartedly agree with all that you have said and I watched this with great pleasure. I'm very pleased to subscribe to your channel and watch more of your videos. Thank you for bringing into question a topic i fear has been missed by many people in our community.
Thanks John, have you ever seen something go on for so long that finally you couldn't take it anymore and had to say something about it, well that was me with this video. Thanks for watching, and thanks for subscribing. 👍👍👍😃
I know exactly what you mean. As an Englishman i was raised with these ideals by my Farther and Grandfather but I look around today and it seems little has survived. It's time for a gentlemen's come back.
Exceptional talk, absolute truths! We can influence people with respectful and polite behavior. I am brand new to the pipe smoking hobby. I always knew someday I would begin. My Grandfather smoked a pipe all day long and I enjoyed that as a small boy. He lived to 93 totally healthy. Other great influencial elders of my youth were pipe smokers. They all were peaceful very respected men, good citizens, good influencers, WW2 veterans. One thing I have noticed so far, is that the time spent smoking my first pipe, causes a great relaxation and thought. Forces me to slow down and relax, enjoy time. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and you are very helpful for my entry into the hobby.
I offered to pay the extra for a guy who was short just a couple of dollars. He was rude to me and when it was my turn, the cashier was rude to me. It was like who do you think you are? Another time I was in a similar situation and I almost didn't because of what happened before. I offered, the person accepted. Outside they thanked me again and told me how tight things had been for them lately, they really appreciated it. I decided at that point that as a Christian, it was my role to help when I can. If others want to be offended, I can't help that.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Respect your elders and listen and understand the wisdom. Great advice for today's generation. If we all behaved like this the world and society would be a better place. A joy to hear this mutton chop piper. I Sir, share the same views. Thank you. Smoking a lord Nelson Latakia blend from the olde smoke shop in Temecula, California in my Peterson Sherlock Holmes Watson pipe. Sandblasted rustic finish. A beautiful pipe. FYI. Because of your awesome instruction I am in love with pipe smoking. Good night Sir and thank you so much. Keep up the great work.
My grandfather brought me up to always help someone in need, walk with a purpose, and carry yourself like a man. He taught me to walk fast. Because if I didn’t, he would out pace me. Now it saddens me to see that my pace has passed his. . . I saw a quote some time ago that touched me. . . “Missing someone so dearly is the price for loving that person so very much.
Thank you so much Sir, what a wonderful massegge you gave to all of us with your video. My little reflection: "If you take care to each other in the same manner you do to your pipe, you can easily reach the best things both in smoking and in living your life"
This is how all people should act and bot just pipe smokers. This is proper etiquette and it's a good feeling to see it used and encouraged. Thank you Muttnchop Piper for all that you do.
World needs more good folks pipe smokers are a magical people everyone I’ve met on my pipe journey so far has been very kind and helpful and fascinating to talk with
Thanks so much for all your videos. Enjoying smoking this new Savinelli poker and my university flake. Breathe method and through the nose. No sweat. Enjoying every smoke. I finally understand the beauty of a slow mellow pipe smoke. Floating on my cloud...
Tremendous respect for this video you have made. I've only recently come upon your videos and have to say that the wisdom on this video is worth more than Gold. I'm thankful for your sharing and glad to be able to learn and grow.
Brother, You described it perfectly. We try to help people as much as possible. For 5 years my wife, son and myself were the production crew for a free music show held on the court square in the town next to us. Another man paid for the bands and we worked it free and yes, we got a real blessing out of it.
Dear Muttnchop Piper: I've often said that the most important task of any generation is to bequeath its inherited and collective wisdom to the next generation. Yet a generation which understood the meaning and value of integrity and sacrifice and labour and goodness is passing. And are such lessons being communicated to youth today? For myself, I resolve to offer youth respect, warmth, friendship and appreciation. I believe that by our demeanor and words, we can communicate to youth their profound dignity -- a dignity which, alas, is sometimes lost on them. I believe that in quiet, powerful and yet gracious ways, youth can be encouraged to accept inclusion in this lifestyle. On another matter and in my 65 year, I today acquired my first pipe [a Rhodesian] and savored a bowl of leaf. Thank you for the good you do here. God's richest blessings!
Thank you so much for this video! It cleared my mind about what's in fact to smoke a pipe. We aren't only guys smoking, but our pipes symbolize even more than that, it symbolizes good and precious values that our world has lost. Greetings from Brazil and good piping!
I watch a lot of your videos but never comment. I think the content of this video was timely and much needed. I enjoy your segments and look forward to many more. Thank you for your postings! - Mason Paramore from North Carolina
Mason, I appreciate your comment, I go out to stores, and restaurants and I am concerned about what I see, I talk to friends at work about their children, and grand children and how they don't have any goals, or ambition, and it worries me. I watch the news and they talk about how congress and the senate can't come together and vote on bills that would improve our lives, just look at the Zika virus, and it concerns me. What will our country be like in 30 years, we have lost our way, I just hope we find the path before its to late. Thanks for viewing my videos, it is appreciated. 👍👍
I feel that as I grow old, my faults become more apparent and my patience is not what it once was. I agree with everything you say, but it certainly gets harder as you grow older and “wiser”… but the important part is to strive to get better, so thank you for the reminder, Sir. :)
Had to sub after this one. I'm almost forty, mustachio'd and a gentleman piper. I appreciate the call to stand and be proper men in our society. Cheers, Muttnchop and smoke in good health, brother.
Thank you dear brother for this words. I also start to smoke pipe because Tolkien and Lotr. And I am Catolic and ewerything you sead is allso a Bible and Christian way of life. God bless you You are truly a gentelman
I agree 100% with you regarding a person's personality. I'm 43, but definitely an old soul. I love the old ways of living and the properness back then. I address people respectively and properly. I believe this recent generation is horrible. Poor work ethic, no respect, and they believe they are entitled to everything! When I say I am an old soul, I love the pipe. I love Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. I love Orson Welles and old time radio shows, such as The Shadow and War of the Worlds. I also love watching Columbo. Thank you again for your videos and look forward to your next one!
Grant Grindle - thanks Grant, I believe I have a little bit of that old soul in me as well, and your right about today's youth, but I believe there are some good ones among the bad apples that just need guidance. 😃😃😃
Muttnchop Piper Chris those bad apples need the Marine Corps too help them learn respect and change them to real men. As a DCS officer i see so many teens that are rude and dont even care about them selves. love goes along way Chris this new generation is so lost. And discipline is lost now and we wonder why they act the way they do.
Perfect example of juvenoia. You're not alone about having negative feelings about the youth. When you were young, the "old souls" had negative feelings towards you as well. And when those "old souls" were young, the "old-old souls" had negative feelings toward the youth as well. Humans dislike change, and the youth will always be different from the older generations. It has been so since the beginning of mankind. Samuel Ward, preacher/minister of Ipswick 1603-1635, wrote a sermon about the youth of his time - called Woe to Drunkards. Take a look at this picture: worldgonetohell.files.wordpress.com/2015/09/8c1f71794f0bb580ed9d50d3c4c5.jpg As you can see, Samuel Ward did not agree with the pipe smoking and the wine drinking of the youth. In the first frame, you can see it says "thus of old", meaning when he was young. He read books and rode horses. In the second frame, it says "thus now", showing pipe smoking, drinking and gambling. He saw the youth as drunkards. It is ironic, because today pipe smoking is seen as something a gentlemen does. Back then, it was seen as bad manners. Times change - whether you like it or not.
smoking or not , you are a good person and after all in this anarchised world it's nice to define gentlemen's principles for every group we belong to .
Watching 6 years later, what you said at the end of the video is still tried and true.. Even at 26 years old with Mexican heritage I agree with this. I havent started smoking a pipe YET but I do love cigars and have been looking into the pipe world. Thanks for these videos, and insight!
I'm actually happy to report that I didn't learn any new criteria that i don't already follow. On the other hand I could easily see how one or two of those points could get overlooked so well done in that regard. My pipe is packed and now it's time to relax with some more of these piper episodes. Thanks Muttnchop.
I've watched most of your vids having picked up the pipe after Years away from cigarettes but I did dabble with a pipe my Uncle gave me when I was a boy back in Scotland; my Dad and Grandad also smoked pipes from time to time. I too am ex military and find myself drawn to your regimented ways, calm attitude and kind heart. Old school values should never be forgotten or overlooked and I'm enjoying the journey, time to contemplate as I watch and puff away in a bygone age of mindfulness and peace. Keep on keeping on brother with thoughts from Australia
Chris, why dose my capt.black royal burn so hot? Hotter than my Virginia blends seems like. It's just black and gold cavendish mixed. It is my main go to tobacco until I get my blend you recommend in. It's in the mail now. This is the sweetest thing I could find OTC. I really like it thus far. I've had eileens dream also and it's absolutely wonderful.
hillbilly piper - More then likely it’s the amount of topping they use, or preservative. If you have not yet watched my video on smoking your pipe using the “Breathe Method” I suggest you watch it, once mastered it will help you control the temperature of the burning tobacco. 👍👍👍
This all got home so much. I was always raised to treat everyone well and be polite. I recently have been feverishly searching for lessons for being a traditional gentleman. You sir, are dead on point. These rules you laid out are absolutely what I have been searching for. Obviously there are many ways to be a gentleman, but if one uses these basic things you have laid out then a gentleman one will be. I love all your videos. I’m new to pipe smoking, and you’ve helped me so much just in a couple days. Thank you for your videos sir, I can’t wait to watch the rest.
You're 100% correct! That is exactly what I was taught by my grandparents as a child in the mid-1970's and early 1980s. Great video sir! Thank You for making it.
I really enjoy how you don't edit your videos. It feels more personal. I feel like I'm listening to an interesting lecture or like I'm involved in a conversation with you. Also, those are some boss chops man 👍🏻
Thanks Joel, you know, when I first started doing my videos, I thought "Nobody will watch these videos, they are not polished, or look professional" but I have found that they convey my true self, just a guy wanting to pass on as much knowledge on pipe smoking that I can. If you ever meet me in person, the guy you meet is the same one in the videos. Happy smokes my friend.
Dear Muttnchop Piper, these are wonderful thoughts, shares in a beautiful manner. I always tried to live following these basic rules. To learn that I am not the only person who thinks that these are important values (sometimes it feels like I was in my day to day life) makes me very glad. Please continue to make such beautiful and instructing videos. All the best, Peter
I am a young man now. But I would very much like if one day I had children and grandchildren who remember me kindly for the way I acted and the pipes I smoke. This is good advice you've shared, muttonchop, and I'm very glad there are good men out there like you setting an example for the rest of us.
There is a reason that the tampering tool looks like a set of compasses, a reminder by which we can measure our own set of morals and values, thank you for the timely reminder.
It's amazing how many people are kind of taken aback by simple acts of respect and kindness. Granted, I'm young punk goth kind of guy with wild hair and style, but my parents always taught me to be polite and kind and find ways to help out so that's what I try to do. Respect isn't on option, it's a necessity.
Just saw this vid. (7/2023). U sir are 100% correct on EVERY word spoken from your lips. U r much appreciated & respected. U r the epidamy of ameriCan tradional values. I bow 2 u. (Like u i am same 👍😂)
Greetings from 2021! I just started this hobby and I cannot express how helpful, genuine and positive you've been. You have mentored me in every aspect of this art. Thank you so much my friend.
Something I can add to the part about 'treating every woman like a lady, even if you know she isn't one'... An observation; I have always done this. As a child, I frequently witnessed women, even 'good' women, being treated very badly. I've seen it harden them, and their view of the world. I've also noticed that, by treating them well, with genuine thoughtfulness, there's a softening that takes place; first towards you, and eventually it begins expanding outwards. Sometimes it happens quickly, other times it takes many months, or even a year or more. But you always notice the first time the change begins, and each time the waters are tested with other people. It's the same with men as well. Sometimes, people need to see that, maybe they don't need to carry all of their hardness with them all the time. That there are good people that will treat them well, without it being a ruse to get something. A personal observation.
Little to do with pipe smoking, but a must see life philosophy! Thank you so very much for this video. I hope a lot of people will take 15 minutes of their time to listen to this!
I absolutely agree sir and you are correct those acts of kindness and respect have quickly faded from our society. But as pipe smokers we are a rare breed and because of that we keep the old traditions alive.
Exactly!! I think the next time I do something nice for someone, and if they ask why did you do this nice thing for me, I will answer, because I smoke a pipe, and that's just what pipe smokers do. 😃😃👍
Muttonchop, thanks for the video. Great topic, keep them coming. Definitely old school, but right on topic still. When I decided to become a pipe smoker, I didn't realize where it would take me. There is so much more to the piper's lifestyle than what I would have believed when I naively picked one up. The YTPC is a perfect example of that. And it blows me away that you are a Tolkien fan! Safe Travels.
I've been trying to connect with the past myself. I find things that force me to slow down and pay attention enrich my life in ways that modern conveniences have robbed me. I've recently taken up shaving with a strait razor. And while it takes much longer and I get the occasional bad nick. The process calms me down and makes me take notice of things I would otherwise pass by. And now here I am getting into pipe smoking.
Chris thank you for this .we need another video to follow up on our check up from the neck up ! I am a old soul like you and you know the world has went and got its self into a mess. So sad how we have really just are mean to each other. Now everyone has a cell phone to record everything. No privacy anymore at all . Thank you for speaking the truth . We forget sometimes how as men to act and thank goodness your here to show us what to do ‘!!! We needed this Chris thank you Scottie Dickens Tennessee
Fantastic video Sir. You made my morning, you gave not just a positive message but some great life advice that will probably stick with many of us for the rest of our life.
Muttnchop... When I was a kid, I was always fascinated by people who smoked pipes. They seemed to have all those qualities you spoke of. I guess I've always been a bit of an "old soul", but watching the old pipers just made me want to emulate that behavior. At 37 and now a regular pipe smoker, I get to be a part of that culture of generosity and poise. It's great to have such a wonderful community here. Thanks, as always, for your great and thoughtful videos. -Steve
Your very welcome Steve, I am like you, those gentlemen I saw smoking pipes when I was a lad just seemed so distinguished and proper, and most of them were regular people like you and I, but as they smoked their pipe, they seemed so relaxed and completive. I try to emulate that persona every day. 😃😃👍
Her I am watching another one of you video's, I find this video interesting in the fact that this is exactly what made me subscribe to the channel. When I subscribed I did not know of this video, this is the very thing that I noticed, you have something to say that is experience based and you do it for all to understand and at the end you say " let's review " like a good professor in college would, or should. You are organized, slow to speech and precise when you do speak, you are not offensive well mannered and act like a pipe smoker from the a generation when men were men, you have a gift in my opinion for doing this "Journey " and it fits you well, thanks. I also noticed after listening to you breathing video's that when I follow you example I can sit and smoke and breathe and the small bowl on my ( Grabow 2003 collector ) does not heat up and is most enjoyable. That's why you are the " MUTTNCHOP PIPER ". Thanks for your service !!
Excellent video. These are things that we often forget but mean so much. I do most of the things you mention and it indeed does make a difference. Thanks so much for the reminder.
Good Brother, AWESOME VIDEO! I couldn't agree more. I only wish more people thought with this older mindset. It really is a shame how our society has become so eloped with self care and lack of care for others. A gentleman is a gentleman, and sadly, we are diminishing..... It is as if the saying, 'One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them' has laid waste to our way of life....We will adapt and overcome. Semper Fidelis, Good Brother.
Another amazing video. Having gone on UA-cam for so many things this honestly may be the most useful and enlightening channel that I have come across. Truly well done my friend.
All these characteristics were instilled in me as a youth and I have practiced them even before I joined the ranks of pipe smokers. Thank you for perpetuating these qualities!
I agree that pipe smokers do command a certain respect and therefore a responsibility. I’m about to become a pipe smoker, I’m taking my time deciding on my first one . Thanks for your good advice sor
You're old school, thats why we love you :)
Thanks Tyler, I appreciate that 😀😀😀👍
Same. Still Gold.
You are a great example of a Gentleman! A light to help us navigate the treacherous waters of life!
Thanks! 7 years later I still come back to these videos like an old friend
I'm really glad you made this video, I'm 18 years old and will admit I can be very rowdy at times especially when I go out with my friends. And thank you for this comment. You'll do fine.
What a guy! Such a class act and I really do appreciate the wisdom he brings to this channel. Like the dad you never had. Thank you mutton chop piper
Thanks Christian 😀😀😀👍
Christian Christian. Nice 👍🏼
Amen❤
As an older fellow who remembers a very different, more civil society, I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks very much.
Tom Terrica - Your welcome my friend. 👍👍👍
You are a great man . I respect u sir . And after watching your video I’m going to be a gentleman thanks a lot sir
I've watched many of your videos but this one, by far, was the most important one of them all. You are a true gentleman and its an honor to find people such as you on UA-cam today. If only every man were to behave as such a gentleman, we would find more to enjoy on here as well as in daily life.

Common things, that aren't so common. Great video, brother.
Thanks Hilman. 😀😀👍
Hi! I'm an italian guy,
during this quarantine I started pipe smoking with my father's pipes thanks to this channel.
I'm watching all the videos with attention and I wanted to know that this one is really changing my way of thinking.
Thank you
Andrea Fasulo
Same here. I took a pipe periodically (mostly cold weather) but after being shut in and finding this channel I’ve gone from smoking a pipe to BEING a pipe smoker. It’s been encouraging to watching MCP and having a bowl.

Thanks Chryngle. 👍👍👍
It was the 1960's, man. That decade flipped this nation on its head entirely and took common moral value with it.
Luke McManus Williams - I agree, the 1960’s was the transition decade. 👍👍👍
I have often said America was at it's strongest in the 1950's. The strength of America was always the nuclear family unit. As the family degraded, so did America. To destroy America, they had to first destroy the family.
It was the 1960s, Sir *
The 1960's is when the government took prayer and the Word of God out of schools.
Standing when a woman enters the room is powerful. Great video ! We need more of this , much more. Thank you
You couldn't been more right on what you've said in this great video, sir.
You're welcome my friend, and welcome aboard. 😃😃😃
Mr. Muttnchop Piper, you are an example. I was looking for a pipe channel and ended up finding much more. God bless you an your family, sir.
Pedro Couto de Brito - You bet my friend, and thank you for your kind words. 👍👍👍
i totally agree with you sir, i wish we were back in the times of the early 1900's . There was so much more respect and meaning of respect back then, than there is now days. i have to say honestly, all those qualities you were talking about reflects my qualities and i feel better knowing that i am a gentleman pipe smoker in your eyes. Thanks again.
Doug Strand - You’re right following these guidelines today is the exception and not the rule, it’s a true shame. 😏😏😏
I’m a new pipe smoker & I’m really enjoying “binging” your UA-cam talks!
“Treat every women like a lady” - even the ones with a 5 o’clock shadow?
This is an old video, obviously:)
My father passed in 2015 at the age of 89.
Thank you for your videos:)
Gary
Please do a video on pipe smoking etiquette. Good post.
Dear Muttnchop Piper,
Just wanted you to know that your videos and advice (not just on piping but on life in general)have been helping me through a tough time in my life currently. I stay half way around the world from where you are. Sir, I just want to say thank you and I really appreciate you sharing your advice and life experiences. I just got some bad and sad news while watching this video and your advice puts things in perspective. Thank you. God bless you and your family.
Super Panda - Im glad I could help my friend, I am sorry that you received bad news, I will keep you in my prayers my friend. 👍👍👍
If others want to be offended, I can't help that.
sir you are an upstanding gentleman. everyone should see this and "take it under advisement".
Keep up the great work.
thank you for being a gentleman and for posting these videos. We need more folks like you. your friend from Knoxville
dieseldriver76 - Thank you my friend, I appreciate the kind words. I do go through Knoxville from time to time, if I do, I'll look you up. 👍👍👍
This is such an important video in our modern age where we have lost proper decorum. Thank you for making it.
My little reflection: "If you take care to each other in the same manner you do to your pipe, you can easily reach the best things both in smoking and in living your life"
Gianluca Tarasconi - I couldn’t agree more, nicely said my friend. 👍👍👍
This is how all people should act and bot just pipe smokers. This is proper etiquette and it's a good feeling to see it used and encouraged. Thank you Muttnchop Piper for all that you do.
World needs more good folks pipe smokers are a magical people everyone I’ve met on my pipe journey so far has been very kind and helpful and fascinating to talk with
Your video's are such a relaxing pleasure in this grab it and run society. The nearest thing to quietly sitting down with a friend enjoying his pipe!
Thank you for your kind words my friend. 👍👍👍
You sir are a gentleman, love your channel, I'm learning so much from you, thank you.
Miguel Pimentel - Thank you my friend, I’m glad you like the channel. 👍👍👍
Another man paid for the bands and we worked it free and yes, we got a real blessing out of it.
colonelcalabash1 - and that's the payoff for us, the feeling you get when you have helped someone in need. 👍👍👍
Thanks!
The world would've been a better place if more people were like you. Thank you making such a great video as always.
AmirSadegh Rassouli - That’s very kind of you to say, thank you. 👍👍👍
Well spoken, and conveyed as one pipe smoker to others. Your advise is spot on and should be a guild for all of us in the community. BZ!!!
Thanks Richard. 😃😃👍
Had to sub after this one. I'm almost forty, mustachio'd and a gentleman piper. I appreciate the call to stand and be proper men in our society. Cheers, Muttnchop and smoke in good health, brother.
Thank you my friend. 😀😀👍
Great advice sir, I am not a pipe smoker but I admire pipe smokers and thats why Im watching.
Thank you for watching. 😃😃😃
Thank you dear brother for this words. I also start to smoke pipe because Tolkien and Lotr. And I am Catolic and ewerything you sead is allso a Bible and Christian way of life. God bless you You are truly a gentelman
Thank You for the suggestion the world would be a better place if more people took this advise.
Take a look at this picture:
worldgonetohell.files.wordpress.com/2015/09/8c1f71794f0bb580ed9d50d3c4c5.jpg
As you can see, Samuel Ward did not agree with the pipe smoking and the wine drinking of the youth.
Thank you for standing by your daughter the way you did.
smoking or not , you are a good person and after all in this anarchised world it's nice to define gentlemen's principles for every group we belong to .
NaturesJewels - That’s great to hear my friend, and thank you. 👍👍👍
You are on point buddy. Stay the same never change. We lack people like you in the world. God bless ya Chris. Cheers from ohio
hillbilly piper - Thank you my friend, I appreciate the compliment and the encouragement. 👍👍👍
Yes sir I've watched it and I'm having trouble with it lol but I'm trying to understand it.
Great video good sir. Your are a true representative of pipe culture. Much respect
Thank you Sam, that's very kind of you to say. 😃😃😃👍
Also, those are some boss chops man 👍🏻
I've shared this video with some of my pipe smoking friends and they love it!
Thank you most kindly for this video. It is refreshing and encouraging. Bless you!
Argon Wheatbelly - you are most welcome my friend. 👍👍👍
Needed this video on my life.
Just grabbed a MM corncob smoking on my porch. Thank you for this upload 💪🏽💯💨
Peter Friedenspfeife - thank you Peter, it just needed to be said. 👍👍👍
Great advice sir. Really glad to come ‘cross this advice
I am a young man now. But I would very much like if one day I had children and grandchildren who remember me kindly for the way I acted and the pipes I smoke.
This is good advice you've shared, muttonchop, and I'm very glad there are good men out there like you setting an example for the rest of us.
Lord Queezle - That is so very kind of you to say my friend, and that is a goal to strive for to be sure. 👍👍😏
Dad gave me a fe talks like this when I was a kid. Brought back memories.
Thanks muttnchop! Great vid. Enjoy these little talks of yours.
I apreciate your advices. You are a gentleman and deserve all respect.
Agree with every word. Great video, great message!
Thanks Dotan 😄😄👍
Good advice - as a UK teacher I try to set this example. Hope you are doing well!
Hei man, i'm from Brazil and i'm a new pipe smoker. I really like of your videos. God bless you.
What a guy. Come to UK and let me buy you a pint one day.
Man I already liked u and ur love of Tolkien just cemented my love for this channel
Thanks for the advice. Some of what you said can be found in the Beatitudes. God bless.
Thanks Bud, I am a huge Tolkien fan, I started smoking a pipe because of the lord of the rings and the Hobbit. 😄😄👍
Wonderful video! It is indeed the little things that matter. Kindness goes along way. Thanks for the awesome video.
Thanks Jeff, I'm glad you found my video helpful. 😀😀
Brilliant insight MCP ! You are first class. Thanks for the great post.
You're a top gentleman Mr Piper. Nice words my friend.Andy
Andy Baker - Thanks Andy. 👍👍👍
Yes, I agree with you. Very interesting video ! Thank you.
Great advice! Binge watching your videos....thank you!
Thanks so much for the reminder.
colonelcalabash1 - you are welcome my friend. :)
Very good video. You touched on some basics that needed to be talked about. Hope people are watching
Yes, that’s why we love you indeed and that’s why we are members of the piper club of yours! Cheers!
JEEROFUKU - Thank you my friend, I appreciate the kind words. 👍👍👍
Good Brother,
AWESOME VIDEO!
SargeTube57 - thank you my friend. 👍👍👍
Another amazing video. Having gone on UA-cam for so many things this honestly may be the most useful and enlightening channel that I have come across.
Truly well done my friend.
John Silvers - Thanks John. 👍👍👍
All these characteristics were instilled in me as a youth and I have practiced them even before I joined the ranks of pipe smokers. Thank you for perpetuating these qualities!
Why is this old school? Guy has ethics and morals. Great vid sir,.... and I don't even smoke. :)
I agree that pipe smokers do command a certain respect and therefore a responsibility. I’m about to become a pipe smoker, I’m taking my time deciding on my first one . Thanks for your good advice sor
Sir
Sir
