I second this, I appreciate the videos being the way that they are. Sometimes the best scenes are the ones where it's just of your animals or son playing in the fields.
They (the videos) are organic and have their own life it seems, so don't worry :). My wish was just to get a flow where it is not such a long time between each video, the more time, the more raw material gathers that needs to be cut into the video, decided upon and so on. /Mathias
Ivar changed a lot this summer. He is not a toddler anymore and starts to become a young boy... It was nice to see how you learn from all you duties on the farm... We also learn a lot from it! Thanks for sharing... 🙏💖✨
Yes, looking more serious and even a little bit bored maybe? First time that I took a glimpse from him like that. Maybe its the point where he might be longing for more time with other children? Are there some in the village? Or is there a Kindergarden in your area?
Mathias and ate a, your videos are a HUGE welcome, whatever length they are! Ivar seems so content to watch his dad build your house. Wonderful! Thank you for sharing your life with us ….
Courage isn't the absence of fear but to go on in spite of fear. You are courageous because although you do not know how you still did it. In the end it is your house and you need to live in it. Nobody else. Keep on doing what you're doing regardless of criticism.
Your videos could never be too long, especially when they include drone+music clips! I hate to request anything when you are so busy but here goes.....if possible could you put together a long version of everything Talasbuan (land, animals, Ivar, both of you, the beauty of Sweden) in the video\drone\music format? I still rewatch many of your older videos. The whole day with Ivar, your wedding, the coldest winter, Tova's tour of your house, the Christmas special, spring lambs and obviously too many to mention! Your talent remains unmatched and is greatly appreciated! Never too long, never boring and always educational....thank you!🤟Saline, Michigan🙏💞
Mathias, my husband has been a carpenter for 40 years, he is 70 and still working! He taught me that the beautiful thing about installing windows is that there is always wiggle room. No window is perfect. You can build it in, or build it out, or shim it up, or frame it in. If you want window SILLS (the wood you put pots on) you can always build those out after too, even if the window isn't "deep". Windows are very adaptable... as long as they keep the wind out! LOL, that's the only important part 😉
Remember us left handed people are in our right minds. Awesome video and yes don’t ever doubt yourself. Nice job on the cabin windows and walls. Long videos are great don’t change a thing. ❤
How beautiful your land is in autumn! The colours, the stillness, the skies :) I had a disappointing greenhouse season too, but there is always next year! And your flowers were lovely. Good job on the sheep, no time for reading in this season!
maybe the word you are looking for in regards to the wall is "level". I live in an old farm house in the upper regiions of NY state. We have walls that are crazy UN level! We even have one wall that curves LOL, it is not supposed to but that is what happens in a old rough cut timber house from hundreds of years ago. We have new cabinets that don't line up properly & windows that look 'level' inside, but very crooked looking on the exterior. the floors used to slope - you could run marbles down them. LOL. manufactured countertops will NOT sit flush against the walls because the walls bow out. And everything has been remodeled & re leveled to the best of our ability. but when working with old structures, it is what it is & you come to love those 'character flaws' because it makes your house different from all the rest!
I ❤ 🇨🇦 . I live in 🇺🇸 about a 90 minute beautiful country drive to the BC province border. I just spent a few days visiting a nearby BC hot springs. Bliss!
I particularly enjoyed this video talking about gardening the rewards and disappointments watching your construction now. How you work so hard. I hope you eat well I’m sure you do and at the end when you talk about left-handedness I am left-handed and I just broke my left hand. it’s pretty frustrating so I got a kick out of you coming up with a clever solution. And gosh it is beautiful there❤
Thanks for sharing❤ I’m with Tova, time to quit gardening for the year, even though I am growing kale and cabbage. I think it’s great for you to work so hard at making the walls even and fixing the window ledges, but I wouldn’t have bother..crooked walls and windows builds “ character “ in old cabins…GREAT job on the plaster in the cheese house, looks like very expensive stucco you see in Spain or Italy😊
Yes, autumn in the garden is a sad sight to behold. It's time to begin putting it to bed for another season. My cherry tomatoes have done well, and my peppers, but not much else. One day soon I'll take the tomato cages down, after untangling all the vines from it. Your own place looks beautiful with your flowers still blooming. Thank you for sharing this video with us.
You have a lovely way of expressing your videos. I love the music. Your life is very busy, hard, I'm sure, but it's still a lot nicer than the rat race. Bless your family this winter.
I love that Ivar is old enough that he will remember building the house with his parents! Love all you videos! Don’t edit them down for length, good content is good content no matter how long it is!
We love your videos just as they are! Your videos are fantastic. Ivar is growing up so fast. He is such a beautiful boy inse and out. May God bless and keep your family now and always. 🌷🍂🍂🍁
I agree so much on the autumn weariness in the garden. I will miss my fresh veggies and flower bouquets but it’s time to recharge. Lovely video and I love the windows.
I love those 40 mins videos because it it very enjoyable and we learn so much from your experiences. As always I loved it and I'm so happy the cabin is coming along great and I salute your energy with all projects: sheep, garden, cabin etc. Ivar growing fast and so lovely every day. Gratitude to the three of you for sharing 💙💙💙
I agree that everything comes to an end even the garden but it fun while you are working in it. You have so many other things to do on the farm that by the end of the gardens growing season enough is enough. It is always frustrating when you put in everything and some of them don’t cooperate and produce what they should. ❤ Good night and thank you for another great video.
No, no, your videos are great, and we just love it so much. Love your new home. I think it's going to look great. Ivar is such a good boy.🎉🎉 Thanks for sharing your life with us. Greetings Melinda 👋🏻
I enjoy your videos so much and the length is fine! Thank you for taking time with us to share highlights of your life! Nice job on the cabin. Cannot wait to see it finished and you move in. ❤
I found y'all when you put out your third video and have followed you ever since then. Over the years y'all have grown so much. We learn everyday from our 4 legged companions, creation, the land and more. Y'all have been and will always be great stewards of the land. I have some Lamancha goats and hand milk them. I am looking into sheep sometime next year. ALWAYS look forward to the videos you put out. At 65 I still learn daily just like y'all. Thanks again.
Ivar is such a lovely boy. So mature acting and helpful! There is a sheep shearing scene in the old movie "The Thorn Birds" with the men competing. I think you do a wonderful job, like a hairdresser making polite conversation with the "customer." The garden and cold storage building are so well done!
Your cabin is looking wonderful guys, it is getting to such an exciting stage. Your sheep shearing has improved so much from last year, Mattias, and I think, as with many homesteading tasks, there is more than one way to do most things, and the "best" way is the way that works for you. They look so healthy. I really like sheep, but they do not suit our climate well. Tova, it is hard to see the garden begin to die off, but I hear you on the rest. I tend to not do much in the heat of summer in our garden, a little in the evening light when the harsh sun has gone down. Our summers can be unbearably hot and humid, and insects can become incredibly destructive and disheartening. I do most of my gardening in the spring and autumn. Everyone around me seems to have gardens in full bloom, but we have a funny microclimate here in our valley, so our spring is later. It's very interesting to watch. I think it is nice to have longer videos; they are always interesting, but also, I don't know the behind-the-scenes stuff and what videos perform best statistically. What I do appreciate about your videos is that there is a kind of honesty about them. You are not pretentious or offering advice as if you are experts. You share things you have found work for you and do so gently and kindly. - Emma
In my opinion they are not long enough!! I so enjoy watching you share your life. You both work so hard on your beautiful life. Ivar is getting so big!! Thank you for your videos.
Never too long, love the cinematography, and oh, that Rowan tree the sheep were standing under, wow! Frost already, that is sometimes a sad moment, when the season has turned, but also a relief, as you say.
Greetings from Connecticut in the United States....it is always so amazing to see your videos. I cherish the time watching the seasons change in life and nature. All the best to you.❤
The windows look beautiful! ❤ Ivar is getting so tall. Soon, he will be helping you with the sheep! Love to see him playing. You both work so hard... I agree with Tova about the gardening! Thank you for another wonderful video!
We think you’re doing great with your videos Thank you for being so real on how life is and the good and also the difficult times is honest. Don’t waste time by trying to shorten them. They are good length and well done. Thank you for the hard work you put into each one.
Hello from Chicago. It was a horrible cucumber , brassicas , and sweet potato harvest for me too, and small corn as well . Disappointing for sure, peppers and tomatoes do well here , potatoes were tiny . My soil is too hard and dense . Next year ….. I too get so excited in spring…..then fall comes along……you are my favorite series. What a life you’ve created. Thank you .
Beautifully filmed drone shots Mathias and I love watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your life. I find it very interesting. Ivar is a wonderful boy helping clean the pots from the greenhouse. All your projects are coming together and Teva made a great job of the cave walls. You all work so hard. ❤
I just love your videos! The beauty of your filming and editing is breathtaking! You make the best videos of any other channel i follow. Many blessings to each of you and your families. ❤️🤗🙏🏼
Always, always a HUGE pleasure to see Talasbuan back again... especially because the videos give a really good sense of time -or lack of it ? The editing and the length are just perfect for me ! 🧡✨
Loved this video. Showing the change in the seasons where you live is breathtaking. Long or short I love it every time you send a video. I so look forward to it. Love to you all😊❤️
Loved your video with so many subjects. Mathias sheering the sheep is such a work out I got tired watching you wrangle the sheep into pens and then sheering. As for the window sills , in old houses, I’ve seen when it was difficult to line up the window with the new inside wall the sill and surround was custom made to fit. I think the windows are beautiful.
We like your videos the way they are. 20 minutes would be too short for sure! Thank you for sharing and so happy you are making progress on your new cabin.
I am amazed at the positivity you exude despite living in harsh climate. You both speak sense, work hard, I do hope that you are more comfortable before this winter.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts as you made your selections. That is one reason why I could never have raised animals and then chosen which to butcher. We learn by doing. We learn by making mistakes. To continue on requires courage sometimes. I think you are doing GREAT!! So good to see you guys. Thank you for sharing. To create more videos you could just do Part I and Part II. That would be fine with me.
We raise beef cattle and decisions are always hard but, they have to be made with the best facts you have. This year we had several females that we had kept for two &1/2 years and puts with an unproven bull. It turned out that the calves were coming to big. Had to pull the first 2 and lost both. Sold the rest. Did not want to take the chances again.
good job correcting...real life when think u know but u don't, the only way to learn is from ur mistakes, never give up, just push forward, its not the end but the journey to get there which teaches u most...my dad! Love u guys!
You may shear your sheep but do NOT shear your videos :] They are joy. You always make my day when a new one is posted. Thank you and see you in the next one :)
Love your lifestyle.RaIsed on farm with sheep,.ilk cowa, hogs, chickens ; grew & preserved all foods.Sheep are like herding quail & like to escape.Family got sheep herding dogs & sure helped direct them from one area to another.Have found gardens produce better with plenty earth worms, lady bugs & manure from goat, horse & chicken barns & shovel for turning spill cause doesnt disturbs earth worm beds as much. Our planet needs more self-sufficient,recycling & less waste.Gods Blessings for your family.
An experienced shepherd taught me as a beginner sheep owner to use a bucket filled with some grain when moving sheep - the sheep learnt very quickly when I turned up with the bucket that there was some treat to have if they followed me with the bucket and it is no stress for the sheep and me - just peaceful. After that I have used this method for all moving of sheep often all by my own - from pasture to pasture, getting them back when they had escaped often on small country lanes or into whatever pen or place I wanted them to be in. I also handfed them with the grain so they get used to me touching them reguraly. Currently , my flock is 10 ewes, 5 gimmers, one ram and 20 lambs of gammel norsk spælsau - Old Norwegian short-tailed sheep which has very strong flocking instincts. I am impressed by your shearing! I have also tried to use a shearinging machine, but not as successful as you!!! Instead I shear my sheep by hand using what looks like a big scissor(not the old fashioned sheep blades) while the sheep is standing loosly tied to a post or tree and almost all of the of the sheep stand still while shearing. Yes, it takes longer time but I feel very connected with and get to know each animal much better doing this than when machineshearing. Keep up the good work - I learn so much from your videos which inspire my life on an old smallholding in Norway along the Swedish border.
I admire you both so much! You must be so grateful for family being able to help you with rebuilding the cabin! It may take a while, but I am sure it will be comfortable, snug, cozy and beautiful! Evar is such a good boy- and no doubt learning all the skills he watches you performing! Thank you for your videos.
I enjoy your videos a lot! Keep being yourselves and may God bless you! I cannot believe how much your son has grown. 😮 It has been a little while since I have tuned in. Good job on the new house building = it is coming right along.
There is a bittersweet mood to this kind of homestead video. A life close to Nature is hard on so many levels, including spiritually and emotionally (not to mention the grueling physical demands). On the flip side, to experience such an organic and harmonious lifestyle is sweet bliss. I wish for you beautiful people a happy, healthy and rewarding Autumn season. Life IS good there. ❤ from rural eastern Washington state USA.
I agree that everything comes to an end even the garden but it fun while you are working in it. You have so many other things to do on the farm that by the end of the gardens growing season enough is enough. It is always frustrating when you put in everything and some of them don’t cooperate and produce what they should. ❤
Bugs, insects, mosquitos hate the smell/taste of cinnamon! Use it in your gardens. Cinnamon also makes plants grow strong and healthy! I sprinkle it all over anything I grow!
Thank you for recommending the book “the most dangerous superstition” in one of your previous videos. I feel that it is the most important book I’ve ever read, and I wish everyone in the world could read it !
Yes! I feel the same way. Everyone should take the time to read that little book. It would be so much easier to relate to each other if most men and women would be aware of this superstition. /Mathias
No video of yours is too long!! I love them; great intros, great stories, and great endings. Thank you for the time you take to make them.
I second this, I appreciate the videos being the way that they are. Sometimes the best scenes are the ones where it's just of your animals or son playing in the fields.
I third this. ❤
I love these also
Amen. I love your videos, no need to change anything 😊❤ Thank you and take care ❤

maybe the word you are looking for in regards to the wall is "level".
You are awesome, in the most literal expression of that word. Really inspirational and admirable.
Such calming and peaceful videos☺️I watched this one on my way to work. Have a nice day !
I feel the same on the fall, but thank God we have 4 season every year. Watching your videos is big joy for me. Wisch you the best!
You amaze me with all you do. Thanks for sharing your world with us❤️
There is a bittersweet mood to this kind of homestead video.
I love that your videos are longer
Thank you for making them
I agree that everything comes to an end even the garden but it fun while you are working in it.
