I like your advice about not getting too many brushes; only using a few so you can 'bond' with them.
Thank you. it makes such good sense to bond with your brush. I never thought of that. I looked at the Amazon link and it only takes you do a camera.

What distinguishes brushes for beginners from brushes targeted towards advanced calligraphers?

wonderfully made videos. Thank you!! I have a questions......what kind of paper are you practicing on? It turns a darker color when you apply the water but then fades away as it dries. Where can I get some of that "practice paper"? Many thanks, Yanghaiying!
I call it magic paper. It gets dark when wet and disappear when dry. This paper can be reused hundreds times. I sell it. The link if under the description of this video.

Francine Rossoni they call it a Teagas reusable Chinese paper. I highly recommend it for practicing Chinese Calligraphy. It is very helpful because all you need it that paper, water and Chinese brush. It's the perfect way to get practice done with out waste paper and buying more. When I got familiar with the Chinese strokes, then I start to used real paper and ink. But it will take lots of patience. Good luck.

Ah its just I seemed to notice similarities with someone else on youtube here whos originally from China. You both sound similar so I guess its the accent.
Are there many distinct accents in chinese mandarin speaking areas, how does it compare to the variety you find is places like American and United Kingdom?
Do you mind if I ask what area of china your accent is from?

Gray No, Wolf hair is a bad translation and tends to actually be made of weasel hair.
