FAQ: (Coming later tonight, once there's some more FAQ)
Can I already bet that the question for the release date will be the highest?
If a warlord gets dark empire and then dies, do their regimes progress as normal? Like do they go back to the progression they had before dark empire, do they go to the next one, or do they stagnate
@@joelmcfly5172 could at least tell us if it will happen before summer 🙄
Cold: We don't know, so no we can't. We're not sitting on some secret info on release dates that we're hiding just to be dicks, we literally have no way of knowing.
Icicle: If you mean the original leader dying, that won't have any impact on further progression.
It will never not be amazing to me how y'all have basically turned this into a whole new game, with it's own mechanics, ships, resources, and factions. Endlessly impressive.
It's interesting to think of what would have happened if Palpatine had come back to usurp power from all of these prominent characters, like Zsinj and Thrawn. Bet Carnor would have found some eager new allies among Palpatine's subordinates.
That’s why this mechanic was created!
Isard would've been beyond happy, I think. After all, she was still in mourning two years after Palpatine's "death" at Endor. Unless that was merely performative and she really was in it for herself, which is also perfectly possible.
Wow, I'm seriously impressed with this change! This sounds like the best possible way to implement general progression for the Empire and its various breakaways without forcing the player to abandon their favorite era. Now we can keep all of our favorite toys AND utilize Dark Empire's terrifying arsenal!
This is the change I'm most excited for in this update. I will finally get to play as Thrawn for an entire campaign!
Here's my question: What about the Sinister Triumvirate? They would be perfect for another alternative regime since they basically wanted to coup Palleon and could bring in some more economic heroes for late game (like that one corrupt banker).
yer Thrawn is the only hero i actually end up reaching the 60 day limit XD
@@dbzfanexwarbrady Same, his command bonus + special ability is just too good to let pass, even if that means conquering half of the galaxy just with him, lol
Command bonuses aside, I dislike forced progression, and now I no longer have to sacrifice my faction leader to progress. I may actually even try to finish a full playthrough this time!
I would also be interested in seeing the Sinister Triumvirate as an alternative regime.
As someone who loves playing as the New Republic, I love the potential for these mechanics on the New Republic. I.e. having Fey'lia attempting a hostile takeover or steal leadership from you and while under his rule you have to preform objectives for him instead of what your plans might be. I love that the Thrawn's Revenge mod has made a 17 year old game my favorite game to play in 2023
With this in mind, permission to go full on unsanctioned Rogue/Wraith Squadron in defiance of his imbecilic authority?
I really really like the idea of playing a warlord who is approached by palpatine, and saying to the old sith "No, you had your chance. I'll build the empire right."
Can this mod become any better?
Corey: Yes
Nowadays New updates for your mods even overshadow most official game releases.
Thank you for all the effort.
So whichever faction gets Dark Empire will also receive a new leader progression with Jax, Daala, and Pallaeon, did I hear that correctly? Will that mean those heroes also go in addition to Kaine/Delvardus/Zsinj/Teradoc just like with the Empire?
Ye
Kinda a shame. I can't Fight the Dark Empire as Thrawn and get Pelleaon later.
If petroglyph ever makes a sequel, I seriously hope you get hired for consulting. It's amazing how you took their original game, and built a whole new game inside to the point I don't think they ever imagined it'd go this far. Endlessly amazing 💖
Definitely the offer Im most excited for this sounds so cool. Dark empire has always had one of my favorite arcs
I've followed your mod for a long time and what you and your team have managed to achieve with a nearly two decade old game has been incredible. I look forward to trying out this release!
I love legitimacy, really makes you feel like you are experiencing the whole EU.
I would like some named hero unit tree so that I know which heroes I can get per imperial faction. I think some of it is RNG?
The only RNG is the legitimacy groups you unlock, all of which are laid out in the government tab.
@@CoreyLoses would it be possible to add in a mechanic that allows you to choose one legitimacy group as they become available each tier from the ones available rather than RNG or would that be broken? In theory it would still follow the rules, ie only one SSD hero etc.
It would just be really cool to build out the Dark Empire with specific groups
I cannot wait for this update for this MOD in the dark empire end the worlds devastator 😮
Could not be more excited for 3.3!
Good Orinda battle art recreation on the end :D
Thank you so much for this
Love the editing on this one Corey, bravo!
I love this update! Thank you all for your hard work!!
Thank you for changing the era progression!! I've been wanting this for years. I can't wait!!
I’m so excited for this release! Can’t wait to try out the new dark empire stuff!
You guys keep adding amazing features to this mod, I'm looking forward to 3.3!
This is looking really good keep up the great work
Man all of these update videos are getting me hyped
YES! We needed an overhaul!
Could the CSA long term event be some kind of neo-CIS takeover? Would love to see some kind of CIS-holdout faction added in, but I understand if it's not lore-friendly enough for your liking.
They already essentially are from a gameplay perspective, rich corporations that fund their defense/expansion by means of swarm fighter tactics and rely heavily upon battle droids/automated weaponry.
What else would you want? All of the CIS heroes die either in Episode III or immediately after and their corporations are mostly dissolved by Palpatine.
@@chrismdb5686 fair enough. Maybe a few more ships and ground units from the CIS, or IG-series droids and Lucrehulk battleships? Idk, just spitballing.
Lore wise, I'm pretty sure the empire banned mass production of battle droids to "prevent a new clone wars". CIS ships are still around the black market, but the B series Battle Droids in general, just aren't designed to last.
@@chrismdb5686 That's only the CIS in terms of the corporate forces though, there's also all the Separatist movement itself. Frankly it's very hard to believe that many of the former Separatist planets rejoined the New Republic later.
@@RevanX77 No idea why when separatists would have been slaughtered once the Empire took over. They wouldn't have been around to make splinter factions, not to mention the fact that the New Republic functions nothing alike the Old Republic from a government perspective.
Edit: also keep in that the entire separatist movement was engineered opposition that was set up with multiple points of immediate failure on purpose so Palpatine could be rid of them (and the war) as soon as the Jedi were dealt with. It was more of a coalition of system fed up with corruption (that ironically chose to follow corrupt corporate demagogues instead) than a faction with any clear goals/vision of their own beyond "corruption = bad." They essentially wanted the Republic to stick around but just be reformed, so the New Republic wouldn't even look bad to any hypothetical holdouts.
This is a really cool change!
Great changes. I may play this. You may not like to hear it, but the era system was what really put me off the mod in the past. Like, I don't play grand strategy games so I can perfectly replicate history. When I play HOI4, 95% of the time, I am doing it so I can enjoy the "story" of something happening differently.
Integrating two factions in some campaigns can take a long time, and usually by the point it’s happens you are already in an overall controlling position.
This, on paper, does sound like a win more mechanic but it would be interesting to see how it actually plaus
Anything that involves a reward is going to have some element of snowballing when you're the faction getting that reward, but that's also why we have other places with anto-snowball mechanics. This specific change isn't any more of a snowball mechanic than integration was before, since it's just making things that were already available to the Empire available to the other Warlords as well.
I trust Corey's team is gonna test it properly.
I think it's gonna affect Player's decision-making, deciding if they wanna attack New Republic or go for one of the imperial factions to possibly get that fresh supply of frozen Palpies
@@CoreyLoses hey I have complete faith in you guys on this, thanks for the reassurance can’t wait to give it a shot
When the Vong come around this kind of snowballed power might be completely necessary to have if you want to win.
@@miqvPL I do think winning against other, non-Imperial factions should offer a smaller legitimacy boost. As it is you can crush the entire New Republic, but can still be falling behind Maldrood owning Zsinj.
This is so cool it's not even fair. I need this now!!
Love it codey!
SO HYPE FOR CRIMSON DARK EMPIRE or dark empire of the hand
Absolutely amazing work Corey and team, gotta buy a new PC now I guess 😅
THis seems pretty interesting. Can't wait to play this. I assume if we expand early we can incorporate more than 2 factions before 60% legitimacy?
Yeah, you're basically always going to hit the 2 faction mark and the 60% mark at different times, though which comes first will vary by context.
So exciting!!!
Does this mean as the P.A, it's possible to have like 6 SSD's?
Ardus Kaine in the Reaper
The Mandator 3
The other recruitable hero in the Vengeance
The Reaper
The Sovereign
And 1 Legitimacy SSD
IF SO - PA is now officially potentially broken and I love it.
Maybe even 8, since the empire can get the Knight Hammer in era 6 and Rogris in the Megador(mandator III) in era 7.
The Denny's Early Bird Special, hahahaha, I had to pause the video because I was laughing too hard at that to pay attention!
Any plans in the future for other new regimes for the empire?
How likely is it for one or more missions to contribute to advancing leadership?
I wonder if you can somehow connect faction rosters if you integrate the Imperial faction: e.g. You get the TSSP, Raider II's, can shield TIE's etc. if you kill the Eriadu Authority, or have Secutors if you deal with the Pentastar. 🤔
Edit: The same how you get the Crimson Command, but for most/all units. It's weird, for me at least, that the unified Empire(all splinter factions integrated) can't make Broadsides, TSSP's, Raiders, Secutors etc.
The factions are meant to have different play styles. If we were going to lump everything together, we wouldn't have bothered making all the units we did in the first place, since the whole point is to make the factions unique.
@@CoreyLoses What do you think of using the influence mechanic or legitimacy mechanic to make it so you can get limited access to a small fraction of an integrated faction's units? What comes to my mind is how Crimson Command was historically in the ownership of several leaders. If you have control over a former capital, perhaps you can gain access, through influence, to a specific ground and space unit? For example, defeating the Greater Maldrood and having their capital world can give you the possibility of producing Crimson Command Victory Star Destroyer if you sink enough credits into influence. You will not gain complete ownership of a faction's roster, but you can access one or two units.
@@molotovfirebomb9881 You can get them just not rebuild them. I could mayve maybe see the chance to acquire blueprints if you get enough copies of a ship but that's a lot of work for something that dilutes the factions anyway.
@Corey Loses Please do let Pentastar get Gladiators, they pair so hilariously with their big brother the Praetor Carrier.
@@CoreyLoses I understand your point, but its super interissing to have one "special" unit from the faction you confederate to be add to your roster, like the crimson... i think you guys should think about it
I know that you don't have an ETA on the release - but is there anywhere in particular we should be making sure to watch to get an ETA once you have one?
Because 3.3 looks almost like a whole different game from previous versions, and it looks great.
“Denny’s Early Bird Special” lmao
World devastators my beloved
love it
Does anyone know a website or is there a video wich tells us about wich heroes there are ingame and how to unlock them?
Darn, no Thrawn vs Palpy this release!
World Devastators wooo~
How will the world devastator birthing work? Is it just complete X number of battles with WD and get a new one?
Raghh cant wait raghh
Still a little confused how the eras work. I'm in my first campaign. I started in Era 1, I'm in era2 and still didn't notice a difference. I played a ton of FOC as a kid and teen. Just getting back into it.
Theres not alot of changes till atleast era 3 thats when the imps really get most of thier big heros/buildable SSDs
And as stated in the video there are conditions to reach each which im sure you are aware.
They dont drop everything at once, i find once you hit late era 3 into 4 things kick off
One more edit, just for reference right now in 3.2 in order to advance from 1 -2 pestage must die or be replaced through the build options same with eras 2 to 3 but with dala then you get thrawn^^^repeat
The big differences start appearing on Era 3 and onwards, era 1 - 2 are mostly just hero/leader changes (and the Executor SSD is only buildable on Eras 1, 2, 6 and 7)
OK thanks to you both
Sorry if it's already been addressed, but is a playable zero command planned? I understand that it works well as part of independent forces but with the new maps maybe there is space for it...
Zero Command as far as I know is only playable on the smaller/story based maps
It would be cool to have a option to chose between him and Isard tho, and however you don't chose becomes independent
I think only as the Imperial Remnant in the Deep Core historical campaign.
Wait, quick question: in what scenario would the EOTH keep Thrawn? Would it happen if Ysard, The Committe, or Pestage get to dark empire before Thrawn comes to rule the empire?
I’m pretty sure that’s how he explained it in the 3.3 Empire Preview Playthrough
If I play as the Pentastar Alignment for excample and form Dark Empire, will I keep the ability to build PA exclusive units with later Jax, Daala and Pellaeon ?
Yes, your core faction roster remains the same
Corey just to ask by dark stormtroopers do you mean dark troopers like in the base game with multiple phases? I'm not entirely sure if those are dark empire but that's the one thing I'd love to get as the empire is dark troopers
No, it’s a separate thing from Dark troopers. It’s stormtroopers that have been enhanced with Sith alchemy and cybernetics, if I’m remembering the little tooltip correctly. Either way, Dark Stormtroopers and Dark troopers are not the same thing
Dark Stormtroopers are a Dark Empire only unit, they are stormtroopers enchanced with dark Side energy, not to be confused with Dark Troopers from the base game
Damn shame. I'd love to see phase 3 dark troopers be added as a really expensive dark empire unit that you can only have a certain amount of at any given time
@@justintaylor1713 Fun fact: in the original Dark Empire comics, what we're calling Dark Stormtroopers were actually called Dark Troopers. But considering how the term got used later for unrelated battle droids, we figured this was not what they should be called in the mod.
@josiahshangrila7322 Neat, did not know that. Was definitely a good idea to prevent confusion.
A few IR ships are locked in Thrawn Era including Tector. What will happen in the .3? Are they going to be unlocked once DE happens or stay locked😢?
Will you be able to keep Zsinj or any other warlord leader if you form dark empire?
Yes, the DE and subsequent regimes go on top of your pre-existing leaders.
Is there any chance of the EotH getting any kind of imperial legitimacy sorta thing?
They won't ever be included in legitimacy, but they will have their own government mechanics.
will empire 1 planet start be fixed?
How can I integrate other factions? Just conquer their territory?
Also, ja there a release date vor 3.3? Can’t wait for it!! :-)
You integrate them by taking out their leader/s and by taking most of their planets.
Hey Corey does the team know what month 3.3 will drop? Or you guys still working out the kinks?
No release date or any estimates
@@irampagingrhin0399 ah thanks man
So tech progression is basically tied to the passage of time now?
No, it depends on the research. Some stuff is tied to time, some is tied to regime, some to other events or mechanics. It depends on the faction and the tech.
Does this mean that the Warlords get Imperial Legitimacy rewards? Be weird to have PA kick off Dark Empire and not have storm trooper units.
As Dark Empire you get Dark stormptroopers so yeah PA would get them if they accepted Palpatine's offer
Stormtroopers are a legitimacy reward from the ""base"" Empire (ie. Imperial Remnant), and since the whole story progression (heroes, leaders, etc.) follows Dark Empire, it won't be as painful to take them out from the galaxy (they won't have access to their next leaders since you got them from DE)
So the Dark Empire units will still lock after a certain condition is met, if I'm understanding correctly. Does the team have any ideas as to what those conditions **could** be? I understand they're probably still under discussion.
Said condition usually is, Palpatine Dying or the regime changing (aka. Jax), other wise you'll be able to produce as many units as you want
@@felps_4500 I'll rephrase. Can I stay with Palpatine forever?
@@RoyalMudcrab I don't know honestly, since they're changing how ""time"" works in the mod as well, my best bet would be:
Probably not, it'll probably still have the 60 week limit (or whatever unit of time they'll be using now) so it automatically changes the regime
@@felps_4500 they're months now. Which seems very fucking fast to me.
So, will Dark Empire also not have a timelimit anymore?
NONE of the Imperial Eras will
Whoa so I can clown the new republic with Palpatine and Thrawn together
When will your crew make your own game? Just an interesting thought
Making a game is on a completely different level compared to making a mod, even for one as big as TR. It’s sort of like remodeling an old building vs constructing a new one, you already have a base to work off of for mods but for new games you have to create your base from scratch.
Such projects usually doesn't sell well. Part of old fans will treat it as abandonment of the project and cach grab and other will be not interested in indie game without IP, even if mechanics will be better overall.
Would love to see a Thrawn's Revenge Multiplayer Galactic conquest built into the main mod in later versions. That would be great!
I'm a bit confused, if Imperial Remnant currently has Thrawn but becomes Dark Empire while he's active, does that mean Thrawn remains with IR instead of leading Ascendancy?
Yes, though by the time the Empire has Thrawn he never goes back to the Hand anyways. If the Empire forms DE before Thrawn, then it means Thrawn never goes to the Empire and just stays with the Hand.
@@CoreyLoses interesting indeed. Should Thrawn be leader of the IR when it goes into Dark Empire, will there be a replacement for Thrawn in the Ascendancy? It would be a shame for them to take such a big hit without Thrawn's bonuses for the remainder of the game, especially when it's outside of their control whether he leads or not.
I'm really stoked for this new release btw, any idea when it'll drop?
Will the empire of the hand be able to integrate the chiss?
Once the Chiss are actually in the game, maybe I guess...
Honestly, this feels like a brand new game that just got a rework. This will be a real game changer, I bet.
NEVER ENDING THRAWN CAMPAIGN!!!
6:54 is that IPV?
It is
What happens if the warlords are wiped out, rather than integrated?
That's not really possible. Integration happens when in the course of conquering them,.
Does this mean that the imperial warlords can get the old imperial regimes?
Only Dark Empire and onwards, they cannot get Thrawn, Isard or Pestage
Say Penta gets DE. What happens to the non Palpy heroes for empire?
Also how can you have Isard and Dalla ? Kill off Jax?
When will it be released?
When it's ready, no release date
...With this in mind, has anyone won the game only as Sate Pestage?
You would have to beat the game in less than 60 weeks (in 3.3 until you get DE, but that's like 60% of the map in imperial control + 2 integrated factions), it is possible tho
Please rework the old Eclipse and Sovereign ship models and fix the Superlaser bug, it's not really possible to enjoy a Dark Empire era without these.
I still don't get that ""Super Laser"" bug
Both Eclipse and Sovereign work fine for me
Also the Eclipse/Sovereign models are already on the works (according to Corey in the last TR Anniversary stream)
@@felps_4500 The game crashes when using a Superlaser and many people have this problem, you can look it up in the mods Steam Workshop Bug forum.
@@zharyel9890 I know about that bug, what I'm saying is that said bug never happened in my playthroughs, I can use both super ships like normal
However a similar bug happened when I tried to use the force lightning ability, in which case I just avoid using the character with said ability (it's the guy we also get in DE, other chars like Sabaoh and Clone Palps works fine, proly cuz for them it's a normal attack instead of a ""clickable"" one)
Don't know if I explained well, but will do
The models are being redone, but they depend on when the artists doing them can get them finished. Unfortunately the super laser bug is a base game issue with certain hardware, so there's not really much we can do there.
@@felps_4500 I think I had this bug too in some savegame, it's good that you could at least play around it. Maybe those type of bugs came after Petroglyph updated the game on Steam over a year ago.
I would love to see more dathamir love where they are a neutral faction that wouldent pick sides thou haveing a distaste for the rebels because of the Cis
The Hapans will probably end up interacting with Dathomir in the future. Like a bonus house for the faction.
thank you for disabling 60 weeks progression feature. That thing bothered me every time when i play this mod
this looks amazing. Im excited to gatekeep, gaslight and girlboss with some fascist war criminals
so this update is for game in steam or is this some moode?

Btw I love the fact that ur re adding the world devastator .
Is it just me getting old or are these mods getting to complex?
The eclipse has such ugly textures
The world devators models look really horrible in this mod
The textures aren't finished.
