In the original, unmodded EaW, there is no way finder slot, all ships go in at once. Is there a way to change this, or am I forced to just work with what I have?
To remove upkeep costs, keep your fleets over enemy planets. That way you can snowball and mass with no upkeep. Also, drop off a fighter or some tiny corvette off at enemy major shipyards after you win them. Any space unit, even a single xwing, will stop the enemy from building anything in space too.
Kill the octuples and quads first, as that's where most of the ISD damage comes from. 2-3 bomber squadrons is usually enough to kill a single hardpoint in one salvo. Also, make sure you switch which hardpoint you target slightly before the first one dies. If a hardpoint dies after shots are fired at it, those shots are wasted, which is a pretty big deal if you're relying on a 30-second bomber reload. Also, your 5 assault frigates and dauntless weren't shooting the secutor after you brought them in, since you never right clicked on the secutor itself. They got distracted by the fighters. You should really save your frigate punch for the flanking ISDs, and hamstring the isolated secutor with bombers, kind of the reverse of what you did in the second example. Once you split up the enemy, you need to target precisely.
Hey ecks. I just got empire at war with thrawns revenge. I was inspired by you. I was also wondering if you could do a video or series of videos about how you progress through each era for each faction. Ive been playing as the nr and have waited 60 weeks, but nothing has happened.
Rebel attack should make heavy use of fighters. I’ve knocked out bigger Imp fleets than this by doing a three phased attack. First phase, drop the gunship and keep it outlying and away from the slower star destroyers. Use x-wings or a hero if mass driver or super laser weapons are in effect. Keep a corvette scout in play at all times. You can supplement with missile cruisers if you have them. They are murder on tie fighters! 2nd phase, drop x-wing and y-wings behind main destroyer fleet. Use a-wings and B-wings instead if you have them. Sweep in with with bombers vanguarded by fighters and take out all shields and docking bays. When these are neutralized, phase 3 should be to then drop in heavy cruisers and the imp cruisers will melt like wax in a bonfire! Works almost every time. It gets sticky however when they have missile boats in play too as they are great defense against fighters.
Same tactics (Generally) for Total war Warhammer II. Its best to find some way to stagger your enemy so they don't all come at you with force. this is achieved with fast units to draw forces away while your main force deals with the divided force.
I want to did a similar thing in fall of the republic. I was playing on the confederacy and I was attacking Rothana, where the republic had a total of about 20 corellian corvettes, which would wreck my fighter heavy fleet. What I did was I sent a diamond cruise or a very close to their flights position where it caught the attention of about four or five Corvettes when I turned around and brought them back to the main fleet which destroyed them. I kept using this tactic to whittle down there Corvette numbers and then eventually there hopefully just attacked but since they had lost all of their anti-fighter they were very vulnerable.
Is it the "use corvettes to distract entire chunks of fleets?" strat Because I do this all the time in AotR, its fucking hilarious. You can also use Alliance Light Frigates to do the same and chase down enemy ground transports too!
On unmodded, my go to trash fleet is 30 Y-wings, 10 X-wings, and 15 of the corvettes and sometimes a nebulon B or 3. It can kill a few large ships before the bombers go down.
#AskEck When did the Mon Cala start making capital ships? Did the Galaxy at large know they had the expertise and could they have made them far sooner? Could they have built Star Destroyers for the GAR? Could they have supplied powerful warships far far earlier? Hundreds of years BBY?
You should also do ground battles too, for example, when using lightsaber heroes, press attack and then press the movement behind infantry so the attack animation plays and so you mow down infantry faster and the cloak doesn't turn off (at least for luke) for fall of the republic I am not as aggressive, because b1 battlegrounds are easy to kill anyway and there are alot of counters to Jedi there (like the rocket tank...).
what I Like to do the most to defeat fleets larger then my own is to just divide them up into smaller and smaller groups until its just 1-3 ships per group, and then I'll spawn all the big ships around these groups.
My strategy for most the mods is to create a massive fighter ship fleet. About a good 20 or so fighter squads should do. Then i get a majority of ships that are large carriers and tons of small dreadnaughts. I'll usually set the commanding officer as the wayfinder scout because it ensures he'll be in the back of the fleet and based on my enemies fleet i can figure which ships need to be dropped first. I always drop all the fighter squads i can so i'll the 20 or so i made along side anywhere from 10-30 fighter squads and bombers from my carriers. I then send all my fighters and bombers towards the enemy fleet always ignoring their fighters as we launch all missiles at command ships and capital ships destroying their shields, engines, and hangerbays. No with their more powerful ships dead in the water the enemy fleet will only be able to charge with their weaker ships. Since by this point a lot of fighters have died i send the survivors back and ill have more already respawned from my carriers. Usually brings you back to the fighter size when u started. Now i have my fighters pick off theirs as they wont be respawning with no hangers. By now their main fleet has reached mine except those that have no engines. This usually means they come like 1 or 2 at a time so i can have all my dreadnaughts up front taking out whole frigates in mere seconds with focus firing. I rarely end up losing ships and when i do its almost never command ships and usually corvettes or a frigate or two. I prefer this strategy because i essentially have two fleets the fighter fleet and the main fleet.
Also i feel like this strategy is really good especially the first time you showed it. Being able to spawn in right behind them and blast their engines is like a dream come true. Altough I'm not a fan of the idea of "sacrificing" ships even if they are "free" ships mainly cause like you said the AI cheats so for me every ship i lose is equal to dozens of ships lost. I cant spawn a whole new fleet in like 2 minutes but it feels like the AI can so if im constantly sacrificing then im only hurting myself. But im def gonna give this a try when best applicable❤👍

How can you call the reinforcements jumping out of the hyperspace one by one? When I played galactic conquest all the ships come out from hyperspace at once
i see what your talking about and i like it and is very rebel/ new republic but i like to put all my ship at the every end every close to each other so their gun and hit box are over lapsing in a very defense stance. and do to how the AI work where they lock on to ship one by one and not in a fleet when they go and attack you they will arrive one by one or in small group that you can mange. this don't work every time as their might be to many ship in reserve that hyperspace right on you to deal with or not enough ship on your part then if you can retreat do it. some battle are just not winnable so if you can retreat do it and don't waste ship in bad fight
Sadly does not work on the Remake mod since you can only jump out of Hyperspace close to allies and there is a Fog of War. There i just send in a scout until I see enemy positions and try bring in my fleet where it can take out the biggest threat quickly. Usually play Empire because... Venators with TIEs are my vibe.
The AI appears overly defensive in defense battles, holding most of their fleet near the space station while sending only one or two capital ships with fighters to challenge the vessel you hyperspaced in first, often getting easily overwhelmed by the reinforcements. As you deploy more ships the AI will charge at you but their formation will be severly broken due to speed difference, which is especially worse on larger maps. This allows defeating entire fleets with very small to zero losses as the AI's scattered fleet can't concentrate fire on you, not to mention that you can safely retreat while shields are still up.
The moment you order your fleet to move, they fall apart, so I always maintain their position on the spot where they jump in... What a mess, when you order some 8 CapShips to move -_-
I used to go in with one ship, wait for the AI to attack with a few of its ships, bring in my entire fleet, smash that small part of their fleet, and then just hit retreat.

In the original, unmodded EaW, there is no way finder slot, all ships go in at once. Is there a way to change this, or am I forced to just work with what I have?
The FoC expansion added it as a vanilla thing
Not sure if there's a mod to add it to Original Recipe EaW
@@347Jimmy there's not, u have to get other mods to get the way finder
Sadly no, it was added in the FoC DLC, so it's not in the straight up vanilla game by itself
There are mods for base EaW but I would have to check which one does it.
I had the same problem. Long story short I got destroyed.
Wait, people weren't using the scout ship already? They've gone to plaid!
Ian T well... If they are forgetful they may forget to equip the way finder.
Whitney Lackenbauer after loading back into my save... always forget to put it back in😂😂😂
Good reference.
Hey ecks. I just got empire at war with thrawns revenge. I was inspired by you. I was also wondering if you could do a video or series of videos about how you progress through each era for each faction. Ive been playing as the nr and have waited 60 weeks, but nothing has happened.
There's a screen that allows you to see it. First era is 80 weeks or the death of sate pestage/loss of coruscant
Amazing! You're an inspiration Grand Admiral Eck!
Aotr with its insane republic navies are a pain in the ass, I'll apply your strategy tomm
Is it the "use corvettes to distract entire chunks of fleets?" strat
Because I do this all the time in AotR, its fucking hilarious.
You can also use Alliance Light Frigates to do the same and chase down enemy ground transports too!
I’ve never played this game in all the years I’ve owned it lol, seriously planning to give it a go after watching some of your stuff!
Ackbar jump in from hyperspace and yell,”surprise! muderfukers! It’s a trap!”
Justin teaches innocent youtube watcher how to bully AI
Wait eck's real name is Justin?
I known how to bully AI, I discovered it like a week after dowloading the mod.
Equal rights equal fights
Please please more of this it was very enjoyable Grand Admiral.
On unmodded, my go to trash fleet is 30 Y-wings, 10 X-wings, and 15 of the corvettes and sometimes a nebulon B or 3. It can kill a few large ships before the bombers go down.
Big fan of this video. Would love to see more videos regarding specific tactics in empire at war/thrawns revenge
Thank you Eck
You’re welcome!
X-Wing Pilots: AGH FUCK IM HIT IM GOING DOWN TELL MY FAMILY I'LL MISS THEM AAAAAA-
Music: Smooooth Jazz
3 liberties to spread the damage and distract the fleet more, then bring in the damage with bellators and victory class type destroyers...
Ooh yes. This is helpful
*So Lit Mobile sent me this wireless battery pack*
Who wants a mobile battery pack when most peopl are staying home
I got adblock
Ceil Yurie there wheren’t any adson here anyway
😂😂😂
@@_tertle3892 oh
I wish you could do this in regular version of the game. You can’t scout in that one
I’m confused. Are you talking about the unit that comes in first because isn’t that already in FoC
Would Charlie be up to making a Playthrough in TR Galactic Conquest? If so, I think it works be really enjoyable to watch
Right now we’ve got an ongoing TR campaign that I’m streaming, so not before that is over. -Eck
Eck's right. I won't be touching TR Galactic Conquest, but I will be doing a SSD Rampage mini-series on hard cruel AI!
- Charlie
Oh wow! this seems so helpful! I've gotta try this in my game!
Fog of War: Bitch please.
Nice tactics!
I got attcked by home one, that corvette hero guy, rouge squadron and a y wing swuadron.
All did I was target eith fighters and won lmao
Love your videos keep them up
Great vid. I was kinda surprised you didn’t send the Bombers after ISD shield generators first? I play the Remake 2.2 which may have a different balance. Still it’s what I usually do and with a torpedo salvo big enough it’s works like charm.
There are no shield generators
Eck. Turns out, you can also use this tactic in empire of ottoman. I used your tactics to lure and divide the enemy force and crushed them with archers and swordsmen. I beat the enemy 74 large army with just 7 units.
Thrawn will be proud
And I thought I was a clever boi by using Lancers to escort ISD's like I'm sweeping the galactic floor
meanwhile Eck's here actually being the New Republic Thrawn
Thrawn's Revenge dificult? *Laughs in cheese lord*
How do you assign your ships\troops a group? Like group 1,2,3,4, and so on
This seems like a fun game
You forgot to turn on the shields for the smaller craft like the Neb-B and the smaller Calamari cruisers and Subb's ship
If there are new players to the game, I realise the game might seem very overwhelming. It was for me as well. It still is. I've played about 60hrs of EaW and have gained some basic info and am creating a guide/walkthrough for The Fall of the Republic. So if anyone's interested, do check it out. I'll be updating it regularly as I playthrough myself and hopefully new players might gain some knowledge and become better players!

great vid !! it'll be cool if you did something like this for ground battles because I suck at them and they're not the best part of the game
Yeah that can definitely work in some situations, but here we were outgunned like 2 or 3 to 1 so we would’ve just been rolled over in both battles.
I'd imagine this can't work as well base game due to fog of war in space battles? That and smaller fleet caps?
Please please please make more videos like this
lol my fav strategy is to turn on and of the interdictor when they try to retreat, cus that way theyre basicaly not shooting back
I like using ships that can hyperspace away the moment ships get to them
The AI appears overly defensive in defense battles, holding most of their fleet near the space station while sending only one or two capital ships with fighters to challenge the vessel you hyperspaced in first, often getting easily overwhelmed by the reinforcements.
Good call
Which galactic campaign do you think is best for playing the new republic?
Make sure you play one of the era progressive ones. Aside from that, Really the only difference is the size of the map and the number of factions
Well this tactic is unapplicable in other mods where there is a fog of war - as you can't spawn your ships where you can't see.
The TITLE looks like ITS written by FRANK Miller and I can't but help hear Linkara's voice WHEN I read it.
I must have missed something, how do you make it so you only have one ship at the start?
15:44 Me yelling to look at the secutar at the top of the screen
I did try it, but when the New Republic has Home one types and Bulwark 3s,its nearly impossible
Why is the MC80 Home One so much bigger than MC80 Liberties?
Galaxy brain commanding the imperials
that thumbnail is VERY ACCURATE. i destroyed a SSD in thrawns revenge with them.
Can you do a tactic for defensive play?
Subbed
Where do you download the mods for everything? I just got the game but I don't know where to get everything else
10:56 how did you spawn with only one ship without placing it on the first position
Empire of the hand is unbeatable with tactics like this.
Hello, congratulations on the video! I am from Brazil and here there are not many toturiais about the game. How do you select just one ship to start and bring others through hyperspace? ob: game without mods, thanks!
What do you do when you dont have vision on the whole map though?
I use it but the first ship just runs away as my bigger ships exit hyperspace.
