You have a perfect pace of information delivery. By not rushing you allow your brain to catch up and deliver all of those small "asides" that make the difference between success and failure for the student. I also like the fact that you're sure to mention what products you are actually using, whether the brand or type matters at all. VERY well done. This solves my, "un-erasable" commercial transfer paper problem. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for this helpful video, much appreciated. I was looking for a way to make my own transfer paper because I’m almost out of my roll of Saral. One point of correction- Saral is wax-free, and is erasable. I do a lot of colored pencil drawing on black paper, and I never have any problems erasing the tracing lines. (I use either the yellow or blue Saral.)
I really appreciated the insight you provided regarding the lead hardness for the transferring. I loved how that beetle turned out in this video and I was interested to apply this technique for sketching out airbrush artwork. Thank you!
Wonderful. I liked your video and loved watching it
This is so amazing. Thanks for sharing with detailed explanations on how to and what works & what's not. This is all I need. Thanks.
Thanks Mindy , excellent ,so clear and specific .
Another wonderful video, Mindy. I learned a lot, as per usual. Many thanks.
Excellent, just what I was looking for.
Thank you for the tutorial.
thank you for your beautifully explained lesson on making transfer paper and how to use it.....
I started using tracing vellum a few years ago and wish I would have found it much, much earlier because I hate tracing paper for the reasons you stated in this video - way to thin, and rips whenever I need to erase, ugh! Thanks for this video. You explained everything very well and I'm excited to try out this DIY transfer paper tonight!!!
Thanks for sharing; definitely useful!
Thank you for this video, it's very helpful.
So clever. Thank you.
Thank you for this video. I have found it very interesting and informative!!
I am introducing pattern to secondary students. Usually I use the pencil method- but I will try your method this time. Thank you!
This is excellent. So thorough. And thanks for not speeding it up! :-) I just happen to buy some graphite paper before seeing this demo. What would you say are the downsides of using graphite paper? Next time I will try this method!
Very Helpful
Brilliant..
Awesome. Wow. 👍.
Thank you! Cheers!
Good Idea! Thanks! I was going to only make half of a design because the other half is the exact same, so now I know what to do! Use tracing paper. Sheer enough to just draw the one half onto the other, then transfer it to the wood I'm going to paint it on. Thanks!
Aunt Martha transfer paper
👍👍👍
I may have missed it in your video, but why do you redraw the transfer? It looked adequate to me, especially for watercolor. Also, what percentage is the isopropyl alcohol you are using? I find that it is very hard to find 99% anymore and that 70% seems to be the norm now, which tends to be not as good when using for spatter techniques in watercolor & acrylic. Another thought just occurred to me, can you use a white chalk or white pastel stick to accomplish the same technique? Thank you for the excellent tutorial.
I'am about to redraw a school project and i just find out that if i use a soft b4 or even over. i can just flip the tracing paper and then passe over my line and then have some really soft erasable line on my my final paper. But thanks for showing me that way, I will see if I need it, because I have all the material already. Thanks a lot...
about erasible how about the pen new in market - frixion pilot?
What would be a good way to transfer a sketch on paper to fabric?
