  • I tried something I’d never tried before after transferring a design using Saral Transfer Paper. It worked surprisingly well.

    Great tip!
I was impressed how the "fresh" paint held on when removing the graphite with water. Thanks for sharing your experiences :)

To be completely honest, I was surprised how little paint was removed too, especially considering I was using Createx Illustration! Before I tried this, I was pretty certain I would wind up removing a lot more of the paint than I actually did.

Years ago when i used to airbrush inks on cs10 board, i used jewelers rouge to make transfer paper..
Crush the rouge into a fine powder, and using cotton wool rub it into a sheet of paper to make it. Or just apply to the back of the master and transfer
The advantage is it does not smudge and creates a fine light line.
It was probably 35 years ago now so maybe a lost art, or maybe everyone in airbrushing still knows? I am just coming back into the game after 30 years..

@@wickedartstudio pop into a jewelers and ask if they have a wee bit you can buy and they will give you a bit most likely, they did me, and it lasted all the time i was brushing and would probably still had some left now had i continued..

Hi Trevor...been thinking of getting some of the saral...yes I have used regular graphite, it does leave spots ( not easy to clean) not sure on how to use? notice it comes in different colors (saral )

Hey Rich! Any graphite paper will work, just be sure it doesn't contain any wax (paint doesn't like to stick to wax and that will create problems). The fingerprints and spots can sometimes be erased. If not, I normally just paint over them to cover them up.
