I have this Sony 4k player. The Chassis is heavy and sturdy. Almost 5 years no issues. Great 4k player. Take care of your equipment and hard earned money. Buy an endust blu ray machine cleaner disc.
I've had one of these for about a year and a half, and despite freezing a few times, it has served me well. It looks and feels solidly built. Having to manually turn Dolby Vision on and off is definitely a con, but nothing too major. The Panasonic UB-820-K is supposedly a better overall player and for a while I was tempted to get it, but that flimsy and cheap-looking design turns me off.
This particular cable was a 2.0 but the most important thing you need to have is a high speed HDMI cable so the 4k resolution is quality! Thanks for checking out the vid!! Appreciate you!!
Ya it is a bummer how you have to buy a new player for every new formate. But I have been hearing the Panasonic is a good one to so I may try that for my next one!
No, mine is great! I have had the freezing issue people talked about but it only happens when I leave it on over night. If I turn it off after using it, it works just fine!!

I have an LG UBK90 4K UHD player. I happen to watch DVD's and Blu-rays on it just to unconvert them. Don't get me wrong. I watch my 4k UHD discs on it as well. By the way, it's cool viewing The Shining(1980) on 4k UHD. 🙂😉
Now that its been a year has there been any freezing issues with the player? I see somebody from about 6 months ago talking about that. I think 4K is not Region Locked so would only matter for Blu Rays? Also many of those things are just hacked so an update can mess them up if they connect to internet or upgrade the software. I remember my first Blu Ray player was Samsung which HDCP would not work for 1080p. Then I got LG but the Samsung TV would not work or update total BS. The cheap Sceptre ones worked. I got a Sony Blu Ray player its kinda slow. I like simple ones without Netflix or any of that haha. Even 4K has to be right cord version for TV/Player. I only got like 5 UHDs but not player. Sandipan, what kind of audio equipment are you using it with? Also, wouldn't your receiver be the component that is providing the DAC conversion? That is interesting. 🤔 I will definitely look into this. Thanks!
Sounds amazing with my bose lifestyle 600, I have this x800m2 and the x1100es. Love it.
Sandipan, what kind of audio equipment are you using it with? Also, wouldn't your receiver be the component that is providing the DAC conversion? I may be wrong, but my understanding is that the SACD supplies a digital signal to the receiver unless it has analog RCA outputs, and this Sony only has HDMI and Digital coax output.
You have an XBOX One that can play 4K disque you know ...!!!
Hahaha sure but why! LOL
@@mykillerpodcast To avoid picture skipping , it appen with 4K disk because of grease residue , just look at it they're videos on that matter on UA-cam ..!
Does this player still have freezing issues?
Hey there!! I have not experienced any of those issues. However, there have been some comments on the sound. It's really low at times and really high at times. I thought maybe it was because I had the dolby atmos on but I don't have surround sound. Not sure though. Hope this helps!
This replaced a $500 dollar Panasonic 4K , which was a plastic piece of Junk
Noice upgrade!!
Omg lady chaterly I hate to be ur boyfriend you would drive me 🤪 crazy
Hahahaha at least you would never have to question what's on my mind LOL
You better go back and buy a warranty…never buy any Sony product without a warranty…sony is not reliable
Ohhhhhh dang I did not know that!! I haven't had any issues yet though whew!
Deactivate HDR. It s a scam.
😂 Is that true?
Yeah, it just makes the colors look washed out and dull. Want vibrant colors?, select video output to 1080 p, turn off deep color and HDR and just watch the magic happens.
Is that for this player only or all players?
@@cavalierdecoupe Thanks for the good info! Much appreciated!
No it's not especially Dolby Vision 😂
I just got one
Noice!! How are you liking it?
