I like how Christine was being smart. At first, turning off her motor and lights, pretending it's all over. Then when the time was right. She woke up and fixed herself. Clever girl.
That’s what’s great about her. I don’t think she would’ve killed him at all, she knows he cared for her, and and while she exploited him, I think she found her favourite owner in him
This movie should be on every car guy's movie list. Arnie and Christine really loved each other and it's absolutely awesome how she kills everyone who disrespects her or Arnie
Why do you think they call them "car guys"? Because they're into cars, and this movie isn't about the cars. It's about the story that just happens to involved a car that's been possessed. The cars aren't even 1% of the focus
Christine loved Arnie Cunningham in her own possessive, obsessive, selfish and deranged way but inadvertently caused Arnie's death in the Final stage of Arnie's supernatural spellbound madness and demonic possession under Christine's influence and power. Christine in my theory was a succubus. A female demonic entity that typically seduces human men in their sleep, except Christine seduced and possessed the male human owners of the Plymouth Fury her demonic spirit possessed on the vehicle assembly line in the 1950's. In both the book and Carpenter's 1983 Hollywood film adaption of Stephen King's Christine. In the book she was possessed by the malevolent ghost of her first and former owner Roland D. Lebay as well.
In both the book by Stephen King and John Carpenter's 1983 Hollywood movie adaption of Christine, Christine herself was always alive and a sentient/self-aware, demonic force/entity possessed 1958 Plymouth Fury with a life, self-aware mind, supernatural powers and abilities, a vengeful, jealous, possessive, murderous female personality and demonic spirit of her own since Christine was built on the assembly line in the 1950's. Imo Christine was a succubus. A female demonic entity, which typically seduces human men in their sleep, but Christine instead seduced and possessed the male human owners of the Plymouth Fury she possessed. Christine possessed the car on the assembly line before Roland D. Lebay bought the car. In the novel, it's told by George Lebay that his older brother was born bad and evil and just became worse as he grew older. Lebay was an elderly war veteran and a violent, mentally ill and unstable, temperamental, sadistic sociopath and became more twisted under Christine's influence and demonic possession. In the book Lebay sacrificed his wife and their infant daughter Rita to Christine as a double Satanic human sacrifice to bound his evil mortal soul to Christine forever and possess Christine in the afterlife.
Yes the movie version of Christine seemed to be some kinda Demon that fed off of her drivers devotion to it. Then it seduced them until they passed away.
I'm a bit surprised people don't really bring this part up, but as Christine is getting crushed by the bulldozer, her odometer looks like it's going from 00001 to 99999. I always assumed the reason for that was after Arnie dies, she loses her main source of love and energy to feed off of. The odometer seems to represent her state of strength and power, because throughout the movie it starts to go in reverse as she feeds off of Arnie's spirit and affections more and more. Once she loses the person who was devoted to her and fueled her (no pun intended), she starts to lose her strength and returning her to her weak condition as she was in the beginning. Of course, that's just my theory.
In the book, her odometer running backward was sort of like going back in time mileage wise. It's how she repaired herself. Unlike the movie, she had to be moving in order to do it
"You have one hour to move your car. You have five minutes to move your car. Your car has been towed. Your car has been crushed into a cube. You have five minutes to move your cube."
Christine really loved Arnie. That's why she didn't drive away from the tractor: she literally committed suicide and let them ruin her cause she didn't want to live without Arnie. Legendary movie and resembles Romeo and Juliet story.
I love how the lights turn on, faint glow at first, one after the other, smooth transition to full brightness. Really cool effect, like evil awakening.
If he really wanted revenge against those bullies, he should've just lent them the car for a week and told Christine "lock them in and take them to a really bad neighborhood."
Eren Jaeger Let me end the controversy by saying that 24 cars were bought. The 1958 version of the Plymouth Fury was so scarse that they also got some Belvederes in the hope that no one would notice because the two cars are so identical. Once the film was complete. All but two of the cars were destroyed. One was put in a museum, the other was offered to John Carpenter, but later in 2004 it was sold at an auction. Believe it or not, there was in fact a third car that survived. For the scene where Christine kills Moochie, the front was partially rubber and was being pushed from behind by the bulldozer. At first the car was going to be scrapped but a car enthusiast bought it. It's been featured in many Hollywood car shows ever since.
Omega, you forget that the car was a pretty much forgotten car before the movie. Because of this, no one really liked them and not many had them, and with that combined with being so old, there aren't very many left today.
@@billyb4790 Using the eyes of when I was a little child and saw this, I failed very much to grasp the romantic part. For me, the injustice feeling was that of realizing the loneliness of Christine. For me, it was depressing to imagine being the only sentient car in a world of humans. I knew she was a killer car, but her killings were justified during the movie, it was always the bullies which acted first. And when the final scene came and Arnie is the one driving the bulldozer along with his girlfriend, it felt like such a betray. Christine being all alone with no one to side with her, and being forced into an unfair match using heavy machinery. I'm aware that that wasn't the director's intention, but that was what I interpreted back then. The final time the radio powers itself, I told my mom: "Look! She is going to repair herself!". And maybe my mom thought I was telling that out of fear and looking at Christine as a menace, so she replied: "No, she is destroyed beyond repair". And all my hope was gone with that phrase.
Though she was crushed in the process as her fender front regenerates as she managed to regenerate herself again getting after Dennis and Leigh later on.

I have a neighbor, who used to own a 58 Fury. He told me, he went to see this movie when it came out and the first thing he did, was look for a Fury. He found one, fixed it up, and painted it red, obviously. Unfortunately, he got rid of it in 2007, because the engine block cracked and he couldn’t find a replacement that wasn’t overly expensive.

@@markfrancis1210 Well, I'm glad you have a clean brain. Well done!!
You stole my idea

3:08 The whitewall tire popped like a balloon.
That was touching how Christine mourned Arnie by playing that song for him. That was really emotional.
3:18 christine:look Arnie! I’m in minecraft
This comment is so goddamn underrated, I had a good laugh.
LOL
It’s funny but also really sad
😂
Fantastic work by the director and effects team.
Every car guy cringed at this scene
2:37 Christine: "This is okay."
AHHH GOD it hurt to watch them destroy 17 17! Of these beautiful 1950 cars
I’d honestly love a replica of that car! But without the homicidal feature 🤷🏻♂️😂
You can take your Co-Workers on a Ride and leave them in there while you go to the Gas station .
That would be the best part on GTA.
This and “Duel” are best movie cars ever.
@ But what about Maximum Overdrive?
@VOLD GAMER that it true its a little cheesy but its good
Have not seen duel yet
I want to see the duel truck fight Christine. We all know who would win but it would be a interesting fight.
I can’t be the only one who starts crying everytime that Plymouth Fury gets bulldozed 😷😭😭
RIP Christine
1958-1983
Actually The Movie Was Set In 1978 Not 1983 But Also She Was Built In 1957 Not 1958
I like the way when Christine turned into a block of scrap metal.
Oh come on you know you can't bring a car to a bulldoser fight it just doesn't happen
You obviously didn't watch the movie. Christine went there and a bulldozer was there and she didn't know she was going to fight it.
lighting McQueen
lighting McQueen I know right and btw FOUND YOU AGAIN! 😆
Spider man Fan. What the
Eren Jaeger you obviously don’t get the joke reference of Cars where Lightning ran from the Bulldozer/harvester.
Let’s all take a moment of silence for all the poor old 1958 Plymouth furies that were silenced in this movie :(
I wouldn't of crushed it.
I would of kept Christine all to myself.
It's too gorgeous of a car to just crush like that. 😭
Hahaha 😂the bulldozer had the last laugh at the end of this movie 🍿
I have a neighbor, who used to own a 58 Fury. He told me, he went to see this movie when it came out and the first thing he did, was look for a Fury. He found one, fixed it up, and painted it red, obviously. Unfortunately, he got rid of it in 2007, because the engine block cracked and he couldn’t find a replacement that wasn’t overly expensive.
wrong cause at the end when Christine is a cube her bumper starts unbeanding
Anthony Mcdonnell I saw that too
She is trying to restore herself, but can't right now due to extreme damage... maybe some years ahead.
Vinícius Valois so we can expect a sequel in a distant future (if Stephen King lives long enough to write it that is)
thats why clip is called "Christine gets crushed" and not "Christine gets killed" This baby is still alive
Unless she lucky
RIP Christine you will be remembered ;{
Misty The Vaporeon and then it can rebuild itself after getting cubed
JDM Misty The Vaporeon she's not dead >: )
Lol
@@OzzyTheAwtter Yea cause she shook her fender remember
2:30 now christine is an convertible
👍
Christine and Arnie really love each other so they go to the after life together
it's great that this movie will get a remake and hopefully a sequel like Christine getting revenge
I know
2:19 Always terified me as a kid
Nah im just sad about it and I don’t why
R I P Christine 1957-1979
No it's 1979 January 1979 he got Christina September of 1978
Damn. I know Christine wasn’t the best car to her driver, but that was just brutal!
Man that's a sad ending. Was rooting for Christine and Arnie when I first watched this movie.
The book is sadder. More people die by the end of that.
Like how the song is played when he hugs her steering wheel and when he dies
A sequel to the movie could have been another great movie 🎥
Agreed
The detective drove the blue 77 Plymouth Fury. Christine’s offspring.
