As Cory ponders why fuel economy is 11 mpg low, Holli casually asks, "have you been driving around in sport mode?" She knows you, buddy! Love the review...my daughter is in market for a small SUV with good driver seat support (or, better than her 2019 Subaru Impreza). She has a daily 80 mile commute, so the Sportage may be worth considering.

I get better than 13 MPGs around Suburbia in my 22 MDX Advance.... What ,11 MPGs should not even be in the sentence?
Please, I stand corrected. They said 11 MPGs less than the EPA 38 MPGs ! My BAD.
I have the same vehicle but I opted for the gravity gray and I get 40mpg city and highway driving on only smart mode. The vehicle defaults to eco but I switch it to smart mode before I start driving.
That’s impressive MPG!
I own one, climate/infotainment control you get used to. You can choose which it defaults to or to stay on your most recent choice.
I would imagine it would grow on me for sure, just so confusing as to why they would make that a problem in the first place.

As a person who had 2 Hyundai cars I'm going over to Kia sportage SX prestige. It has a bit more features than the 2023 tucson. Patiently waiting to see if either company gonna have a 2024 version but i definitely gonna buy this before having my baby in Feb 2024
I've had my SX Prestige for about 10 months and about 11000 miles. Love the vehicel

The Tucson we tested wasn’t the hybrid and it felt anemic. Interesting quirks to infotainment as there are NO knobs.

I just ordered one of these. Cant wait to get it. Didn't go for the matte finish though. Not being able to take it through a car wash would be too much of an inconvenience for me.

You make an interesting point!! i did not know that the Matte Finish paint can not withstand Car washes! Oh, maybe because of the Brushes. I like the Look , but that would give me Pause.

You don't use the steering wheel for the audio or the voice command for hvac and audio...
When im driving i rarely touch anything. That's what voice commands are for.

I've been doing this for the past 8 yrs with my Model S tesla and now with my wife's 2023 sportage phev
Tech doesn’t always work as nicely or as quickly as we always want it to. For example, we are driving a $99k Mercedes right now and could never say the name brand of the vehicle while inside because the car would always chime in wanting to help, but never when we actually wanted something done. I love GOOD tech. Not just tech for the sake of it.

I wonder why your gas mileage is so far off of that advertised. Holli is not driving the car like a hot rod, but just normal everyday type driving. Easy on the brakes at a stop and smoothly taking off from the stop. Every time I see this car I just can't stand the flat paint job that looks like primer. I don't like the little skinny control panel that keeps changing before you can even start to set it.
The matte paint is definitely not for everyone but they offer some other great colors too.

Avoid sport mode as it puts more pressure on the engine and cuts it's lifespan.
