    Lol with the USB stolen issue and potential fires from Kia . I was going to get one but now I have to look otherwise. By me all Kia dealers have a markup. Not worth the risk right now

    • @rylans.5365
      @rylans.5365 10 місяців тому +10

      There’s literally little risk at this point. Please educate yourself. All impacted Kia and Hyundai’s were eligible for a software update to fix the theft issue, which keep in mind was only effecting key ignition vehicles, push buttons were not part of the issue. The 2023 and on Sportage model years all have push to start. No Kia’s and Hyundai’s are catching on fire, since the recall and free engine replacement for any impacted models. Most new model years don’t even use the synonymous GDI engine anymore. Kia has some of the biggest price markups out of anyone, simply because these vehicles are high demand and people want them. Coming from a 2018 Kia Sorento owner, Kia’s are very reliable and dependable. No issues whatsoever. Kia has done a lot to repair its brand image, and there is definitely still a stigma. Kia received the lowest rate of reported problems among mass market brands in the J.D. Power 2021-2023 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Studies. It is the 3rd most reliable car brand.

Scotty recommends to get rid of them once they reach the age and millage of your Kia, since this is when you start to run the risk of being let down by your Kia.
      Personally, I have always been into Japanese vehicles, Toyotas, Hondas, and for the past 15 years, also Mazdas. Never trusted the Korean brands.
      From my own experience, a Toyota's life only begins after it is 10 y.o. with over 100K miles on it. Haha. You can buy a Toyota with this high millage and be sure of it.

      Pretty true, Kias are good to lease, but not buy. They are nice cheap bang for the buck cars. But don't expect or plan for them to last beyond anything like a Toyota or Honda. I'm sure there are some good ones, like there are some bad Toyotas and Hondas out there (the way of manufacturing goes), but they just aren't in the range of a Japanese car reliabilty wise.

      The thing is, the materials on the inside and outside of Hyundai/KIA are premium compared to Toyota, Honda. Only Mazda can contend with the quality of materials/fit and finish. People squawk about Hyundai/KIA reliability, but many luxury vehicles have worse reputations than Hyundai/KIA.

      @@hathspider9763Knowing how much brand pronunciation can vary by language, you piqued my interest.
      I looked at official Kia ads from the UK, the US, and Korea which is where the car is made:
      UK: ua-cam.com/video/sw84qVKG6bY/v-deo.htmlsi=F3mfBvSltsVZd2ra
      US: ua-cam.com/video/MNVGfNZ22rc/v-deo.htmlsi=SsMiaLV7otUIpYkJ
      Korea: ua-cam.com/video/CqXt-j5pNeo/v-deo.htmlsi=IzY-cs07qYHroN1T
      The official UK pronunciation is indeed ‘sport-arge’, whereas the official US pronunciation is ‘sport-idge’.
      The official Korean pronunciation is also more or less ‘sport-idge’, and seeing as they make the car I think we have to consider that pronunciation the correct one.
      Obviously pronunciation is always adapted to each language, but the US pronunciation is the closest to the original Korean pronunciation, and also is the most correct from an English phonetics point of view.
      Isn’t learning fun? 😊
