Ive been diamond painting since 2018, and I still absolutely love these kinds of videos! It's really interesting to see what works for other people and the things they like, even if I already know it's not to my taste, not to mention just getting to see all of the different options that are out there! I'd definitely be here for part 2, part 3, and part 10 if you made them!
Hi, I’m a newbie diamond art painter & have found your supplies video very helpful in what I really need to diamond paint because not knowing this info a newbie like me can spend a lot of money finding out what supplies will work or not. I look forward to your next video, thank you. Also, do you have info about how to travel with a completed painting art canvas to avoid drills from popping off the canvas while in transport.
I love getting more and more diamond painting toys. I don't smoke, drink, do drugs, eat sugar - so I think it's more than ok to buy little things for my magnificent hobby. Can't wait to hear your part B. Thanks for all your hard work. Love Annabella ❤
Started diamond painting in 2019 and it’s unreal how much I still like accessories videos. I love to hear people’s experiences, preferences and reasons behind their favorites. I vote for part 2 (and beyond) if you’re still tallying. Thanks!
I’ve been diamond painting for two and a half years. I feel like there’s always something new to learn. It’s interesting to see how many accessories are available now. Part 2 would be welcomed.
I would love a video on how to do large paintings, I don't have the luxury of a craft room, so when I am working on a large art can prove a headache, I did buy a table top easle but would be interested on any ideas on a small space set up 😊
One idea is an a3 tilted art easily I believe it is, on a tray table. Then have pool noodles cut to hold the top & bottom edge of your painting. Then as you progress & your painting I hanging over either edged it can be wrapped around the noodle to keep it out of your way. Then you can move it where you need it.
Great video. There’s new people getting into DP all the time so I feel these videos are always relevant. I like seeing views from different people too.
I've been doing diamond paintings for a few years and am wondering what others do with all of their diamond paintings. I'm in my 60's with a very small family and I've inundated my nephew and family with diamond paintings. I really like making them and have given them to everyone I think would want one and have even made and donated some at Christmas to an assisted living home. I'd love to know (I'm new to your channel so I'm sorry if you've covered this in a video) where they go, and additionally, I'd love to know what you do with all of the extra diamonds you accumulate. I have decided I don't like using square drills, so am donating all of those to charity along with a bunch of trays, pens and wax, but wonder will I ever use all I'm accumulating? I do use the crystal leftover diamonds on cards etc., and have tried making different projects with diamonds, but it doesn't seem to make a dent in what I'm accumulating. Sorry for the long questions...I really enjoyed watching your video.. Sandy
I’ve done the same - framed many and given away to family or friends or hung in my own home. The rest are stored in portfolios, as I’ve not decided what to do with them yet. Lots of people have recommended donating them to hospice, rehab centers, senior centers, and the like. I save my spare drills for other projects, but I have donated or sold a lot of my other supplies that I don’t use or no longer need. Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for your input...I guess I just wanted to know how others handle their accumulation of paintings and supplies, so I don't feel so crazy about mine, haha.
Im saving up my extra drills (and my moms) because I also make jewelry. I plan to use them in resin and stuff like that. Be cool to put them in a resin pen blank and turn it on a lathe, but I sadly dont have that avenue available. Jewelry it is!
I agree you don't need these extras, but they make the hobby so much more fun! Pens are my personal favourite "extra" item. Yellow Dog Design trays are my favourite and I use glue dots and scented (for me) putty. Looking forward to your part 2 - washi tape, perhaps storage options. It's nice to see what's out there. Thanks for sharing.
Just getting into diamond painting and I am so glad I came across your video! A most excellent review and comparison of all the ‘things’ for diamond dotting. Thank you! Really, really helpful😊
This video was great! Thank you. I'm new to diamond painting--I've bought one kit but haven't started it yet because I wanted to research the tools and things more, and this video helped with that a lot. I've seen someone else on another video who recommends the Blue Tack.
I have just started and yes I can see my stuff are taking over my craft table as I started with large Diamond Art. So I got more trays different pens n my friends gifted me more 😂 thanks for explaining what the scrunchie was I had no idea.
I am definitely interested in a part 2! I’ve been diamond painting for almost a year now & am still trying to learn about new products, techniques, etc. This was very helpful & you explained everything so well 😊
Thank you and it’s great to be reminded of all the options. For the new to the craft and us who have been painting for much longer. I started in 2019 and have many pens but just a few special trays .
Would love a part 2. Particularly loved the evolution of the tray. I've only been diamond painting 9 months. I cannot function without a lightpad though - it was my first purchase after the kit itself.
I'm new to diamond painting and still using only what comes with the kit. I did order putty to try out and I do have a wax pencil. I would love to see a follow up video as I still have so much to learn. Thank you for all you do.
Great video! Me and my granddaughter just began diamond painting recently and right away we knew the pink pen would not work for bigger projects. Thank you for all the variation of products. Yes part 2...bring it on.
I've just picked up diamond painting as a hobby, and this video was so informative! Thank you so much for providing such an in-depth explanation to a lot of questions I've had :)

I would like to see Ore of what you have to say about alternatives and where to buy used items at reduced prices. Looking forward to more of what you have to say. Bernice
Yes, I agree with you that there's definitely WAY too many unnecessary diamond painting gadgets out there designed to make our diamond painting experience better. I enjoy learning about different stylus pens & aids helping to create neater looking DP's, especially for those who enjoy working with square diamonds, like myself. I'd definitely love to see a Part 2 of this video as I'm curious to see what other bits & pieces you have.
So many cool items. I've added to my wishlist while watching this video. I have several things I need to add to my toolkit. Thank you for sharing all this information with us.

I started diamond painting Nov 2023 and I've been using the pink wax and it has been working very well for me... but I think I might try the glue dots.
Yes, yes we do, we actually need items to complete the paintings. Yes, yes we do want all of the pretties. I would really like a Part 2. I really enjoy your take on Diamond painting. There are tools that help make it more enjoyable and physically easier on our bodies. What is one thing that is a must have splurge?
I found this very interesting and informative. I especially liked the information on the single tips. I have ordered those Ty. I love most of your videos. Thanks for your time. Have a good day.
I’d love to see a part 2. Because of you I now use micro glue dots and museum putty. I didn’t like the consistency of the blue tack - too sticky, and it frequently made releasing drills difficult.
I would like a part 2. This was a cool video. I’ve been diamond painting since 2020 and some stuff I didn’t know about like the Glue Dots and the wax crayon. Those look cool.
I really appreciate your time and honesty creating this video. I had total knee replacement on March 25th (with complications) so I’ve been in and out of the hospital and currently bed ridden. I’m very crafty (always have been since Brownies when I was a child.. I’m now 53) and I always wanted to try diamond painting but I have had so many things going on in my life it didn’t make sense to start something new.. until now obviously. To stay sane and try to keep my mind off the immense pain in my leg and now my back .. I purchased a few items on Amazon to deliver to the hospital. I bought a pack of three Dimond Art Sun Catchers that were very inexpensive and I figured if I didn’t like it I’d pass them on to my granddaughter. Well.. I am happily addicted passing my time with this new found craft. I just started yesterday and already seeking ideas of bigger and nicer art pieces from other websites I’ve been searching all day. The ones I have found appealing are around $85 on up but it’s whatever at this point. It’s definitely taking my mind off a lot of stress I’m going through and finding it hard to sleep with the pain in my leg and back this has helped me get sleepy enough to want to sleep. Hard to explain but it’s a real thing I’m going through. I’m really grateful for your time and I subscribed to you as well so I’m a lifer. My name is Sunshine and I live in Arizona.. nice to meet you! When I find a project I’m known to go all out and purchase the best of the best hence my search to find exactly what you’re explaining here.. what I need to make the new craft easier and more enjoyable. I do have arthritis in both hands but the tiny pink pen that came with the cheaply sun catchers didn’t seem to bother me. However learning from you I realized I have about ten of the identical type of pens that I used on my nail art. I did think they would work once I opened the sun catchers yesterday so thanks for pointing that out. My question and interest is in the trays and I think you answered that for me again thank you for your precious time explaining. My other questions are what are the trash cans for.. do some diamonds come broken or something ? Are the colors basically always the same number so say I wanted to buy glow diamonds or just more fancy shimmering diamonds or what have you. I found a neat site on Amazon called Forever Young diamond art and realized I can buy beautiful diamonds outside what comes in the kits. This is why I’m wondering if the numbers on the colors are always identical. That way I can label my new small jars that should arrive within the next day or so. One thing I don’t understand.. I don’t get the fascination in washi tape.. can I use just colored masking tape? I have a couple sublimation printers as I own a printing business among some other businesses so I have plenty of colored masking tape just curious what the deal is with people talking about the washi tape and if it’s a necessity? Lastly.. do people sell these finished products if framed nice? Just curious as I love to sell my crafts to help justify the cost. Again thank you for your time and I look forward to all your updates and for your part 2 ❤🎉
I’m glad it’s helping you to relax and be able to sleep! The DMC color codes may be the same, but the color of the drills may vary a lot from company to company. Some drills can be broken, misshapen, not fully formed, etc - hence the trash. For washi, you can use whatever you want; masking tape works if that’s what you have on hand. Some people just like their washi to match the kit they are working on. I’ve heard of people selling finished kits, though I’ve never done it myself. Thanks for watching!!
I have been diamond painting since 2019 (I think) and bought all of the things when I was just getting started. Thankfully I have learned what I really need and use vs just stuff that gets in the way. My upgrades include: 1. a good pen, 2. large drill "boat" 3. "quarter tubes" for my drills. I like that they are larger containers with screw tops 4. a cutlery tray for my drill tubes and tools. I also purchased a lifetime supply of brass tips and wax for my pens after DAC changed the tool kits that come with their diamond paintings. I have donated or gifted most of the other supplies and tools that have been purchased but were just not a good fit for me.
@@JenniferPerryMyScraproom It sounds like you know exactly what works for you! I’ve not seen the ‘quarter tubes’ - I’ll have to check those out. Thanks for watching!!
I have carpal tunnel and use the thick, pretty pens. The inexpensive medium to large trays with pour spouts work ok. I like the 2 &3 multi placer or use single placer which is very relaxing. Especially, when I am scared of a hurricane hitting.
25:49 do you have a link for that pen 3rd from the left? It's so pretty!! I looked at the links in the description but couldn't find the shop that carries it
I ordered one of those polymer clay pens because of your other video, it is enroute and I am very curious to see how well it will work for me. The only DP pen I will use right now is a wood turned pen as it is the only one I have come across that doesn't exacerbate the tendonitis I have in my arm.
yep I have been diamond painting for several years and I still watch videos like others have said, I like to see what others use. I've pretty much figured out what I like and what makes it more comfy for me but I still like to watch vids . When I started buying the other pens I always thought because my hands are fat and really small the skinny pens would work better but over the years I found it was just the opposite, so I do pay a pretty good price for custom made but they feel better on my stubby fingers.
to add to that book I wrote above, talking about wax, ohhhhhh boy, I have so many different kinds of wax its ridiculous. Yet I still go and find more and buy like I need more.
If you use different companies can you mix the drills/ diamonds? Like if I have extras from one company can I store them with the same colors of another?
You can. BUT - drills from different companies may not color match exactly due to different dye lots. Also, drills from some companies will be higher quality than others. Do whatever works best for you. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for the video. It was very informative. I was laughing during your end parts because of you saying. "Do I really need all these extras? No, but then what will I have to match my diamond painting with." It got me every time because I am the exact same way. I would love to see a Part 2. Have a great day 🙂
I use the glue dots in my single placer. Roll 2 or 3 of the micro dots together and then use tweezers to shove them in the tip. I love them! Thanks for watching!!
Hi Daphne. I was hoping you’d add sealing in your product review. Is there a sealer you’ve found better than others that don’t completely dull the shine of the drills? If I frame a pic I don’t seal it because it’s tight enough to hold the drills in. Do you ever use a sealer? Thank You. PS I would love part 2
I do plan to talk about sealers in a future video. I’ve used a couple of sealants, but I’ve had good luck with them. I just wipe the drills down with a damp rag or baby wipe after application to make sure there’s no film on top of the drills to dull the shine. Thanks for watching!!
I would love a part 2 since I'm really new to the hobby! Those 3D printed trays are really interesting! If I end up needing ones with a lid I'll check them for sure! O already bought a pack on Amazon who is like the ones you like but no top. Although, they're made to stack and come in 2 sizes! Really live that! They're have a "no cat.allowed" on the back it's super cute! 🥰 I so sorry you have carpel tunel syndrome... I got it while pregnant and I was in the unlucky one who has it stick after baby is born so I got the surgery in both hands and it is a life changer! I work with my hands for living and I worked the next day (slower tho) ☺️
Thank you so much I just found your channel. You are the best.🎉 can you or anyone reading this? Recommend a pen for very arthritic hands? I just started diamond painting and the shooting pain after 15 or 20 minutes is making this new hobby. Sad! I have tried inexpensive pens from Amazon, but they just don’t help.
I haven't tried mine yet, but I've been told that these pens are good for people who have trouble with their hands: bit.ly/4a6vxYN Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!!
I really like your video u show all the different kinds of things u can get for this wonderful hobby,i have been diamond painting for 2 years now,and i still only use the pink pen,lol i only use what comes in whatever kit i order, love seeing all your cool stuff though,❤
I have not done any diamond painting. A friend of mine tried it though without getting any tips. She removed the cover and didn't replace it. She could not understand why it got covered in debris, and why the drills would not stick anymore. She's what is called special now. I've wanted to do try it since. But I can't afford it.
Ive been doing this for 4 years now and pretty sure I'm still using my very first tool set. 😂 I just got my first resin pen and am astonished how much more comfortable it is, so now I'm looking at getting my first larger tray. Which tray do you use the most?
Something I didn't see you mention in your pen section were a couple things really useful with those with hand problems: egg shaped/palm pens and large foam grips in the shape of eggs or even 5" long ones that can go on the default pack in pens that are an inch and a half in diameter.
Ive been diamond painting since 2018, and I still absolutely love these kinds of videos! It's really interesting to see what works for other people and the things they like, even if I already know it's not to my taste, not to mention just getting to see all of the different options that are out there!
You are great what do you do with spare drills ? Thanks
@@beverleyseeney5446 I save them for other projects or to use if I run out of drills on a kit. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this information. It was helpful. I'd really enjoy a part 2.
Parts 2 and 3 are already out! Thanks for watching!!
the metal multiplacer looks nice, might consider getting one
I love the metal multiplacers. The plastic ones kept getting bent, so not having to replace them all the time is nice. Thanks for watching!!
I would love to see Part 2. Thank you so much
Thanks for watching!!
I have carpal tunnel and use the thick, pretty pens. The inexpensive medium to large trays with pour spouts work ok. I like the 2 &3 multi placer or use single placer which is very relaxing. Especially, when I am scared of a hurricane hitting.
@@cindyeisenberg3273 It definitely helps with my anxiety to diamond paint as well! Thanks for watching!!
would love a part 2
Thanks for watching!!
Loved it! Definitely want to see part 2 😊
Thanks for watching!!
25:49 do you have a link for that pen 3rd from the left? It's so pretty!! I looked at the links in the description but couldn't find the shop that carries it
I believe it's from one of the budget companies, I think Fansells, although I'm not sure. Thanks for watching!!
I ordered one of those polymer clay pens because of your other video, it is enroute and I am very curious to see how well it will work for me. The only DP pen I will use right now is a wood turned pen as it is the only one I have come across that doesn't exacerbate the tendonitis I have in my arm.
It is much lighter than the resin pens - although it takes some getting used to, since it is shorter than my usual pens. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for taking so much time in creating this video for us
I absolutely love your dark purple swirl pen! May I ask where you purchased it ?
I’ve had that one forever, but I’m pretty sure it was a purchase from Amazon. Thanks for watching!!
Great video! I love seeing the different types of tools people use. ❤
Thanks for watching!!
I’m a new diamond painter. I find I’m fulling the pen so much the wax gets on all my diamonds. So this is so helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!!
yep I have been diamond painting for several years and I still watch videos like others have said, I like to see what others use.
I love a good pen! Thanks for watching!!
to add to that book I wrote above, talking about wax, ohhhhhh boy, I have so many different kinds of wax its ridiculous.
Have a great day 🙂
Thanks for watching!!
Do the metal placers fit in the pink or clear glitter pens?
I didn't know for sure, so I tried a few out them out, and they do! Thanks for watching!!
I just ordered my first pack of blu tack so I wonder how would you use the glue dots 🤔 I can’t picture it
I use the glue dots in my single placer. Roll 2 or 3 of the micro dots together and then use tweezers to shove them in the tip. I love them! Thanks for watching!!
Good video and yes part 2 would be good! Maybe also talk about drill storage options? If you do a part 2.
I will definitely be covering that!
Part 2 would be great...thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!!
I would love a part 2 since I'm really new to the hobby!
Those 3D printed trays are really interesting! If I end up needing ones with a lid I'll check them for sure!
O already bought a pack on Amazon who is like the ones you like but no top. Although, they're made to stack and come in 2 sizes! Really live that! They're have a "no cat.allowed" on the back it's super cute! 🥰
I so sorry you have carpel tunel syndrome... I got it while pregnant and I was in the unlucky one who has it stick after baby is born so I got the surgery in both hands and it is a life changer! I work with my hands for living and I worked the next day (slower tho) ☺️
@@Stef_T-G Parts 2 and 3 are out! Thanks for watching!!
hi loved this video, very informative! thank you! Do you know where I can get chunky diamond painting pens? thanks!
I got mine on Amazon, but many dp companies also carry pens. Or you can search on Etsy. Thanks for watching!!
Where did you get the pink tray with cover and spout stopper
I believe that tray is from Nyx's Notions on Etsy. Thanks for watching!!
I really enjoyed this video. I'm all for a part 2.
Thanks for watching!!
Great video 😊
Do you use resin poured trays at all?
The only resin tray I’ve tried doesn’t allow the drills to slide much. Thanks for watching!!
As I said, you don't need all kinds of accessories. But some people enjoy using/collecting them. Thanks for watching!!
I would love for you to do a part 2 please.
Thanks for watching!!
I want to see part 2. Keep up the good work!!! :)😊
Thanks for watching!!
It is interesting, do share a part 2.
Thanks for watching!!
I have not done any diamond painting. A friend of mine tried it though without getting any tips. She removed the cover and didn't replace it. She could not understand why it got covered in debris, and why the drills would not stick anymore. She's what is called special now. I've wanted to do try it since. But I can't afford it.
yes a part 2 would be great
Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for a great video. I am fairly new to diamond painting so this really helped.
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for watching!!
Ive been doing this for 4 years now and pretty sure I'm still using my very first tool set. 😂 I just got my first resin pen and am astonished how much more comfortable it is, so now I'm looking at getting my first larger tray. Which tray do you use the most?
I probably use my CatProof trays or my Bella Art 2.0 trays the most. I love the pour spout on both of them. Thanks for watching!!
@@DiamondPaintingAnonymous Good to know, I put the Cat Proof trays in my basket earlier! Thank you. ☺
Excellent video! I’m ready for part 2 now 😂
Thanks for watching!!
I would love to see a part ll
Thanks for watching!!
Something I didn't see you mention in your pen section were a couple things really useful with those with hand problems: egg shaped/palm pens and large foam grips in the shape of eggs or even 5" long ones that can go on the default pack in pens that are an inch and a half in diameter.
I've never tried one of the shorter/palm pens. Thanks for watching!!
@@DiamondPaintingAnonymousthey've been a hobby saver for me. So much more comfortable since my hand tends to cramp holding pens.
I bought the glue dots but I can’t figure out how to roll the dots to go in the single placers
I just roll them between my thumb and index finger and then use tweezers to shove them inside the tip.
@@DiamondPaintingAnonymous Thank you so much
Is part 2 posted? I can’t find it on your list of videos
Not yet! It will probably be a few weeks before I film Part 2. Thanks for watching!!
