Ugh, I wish I could agree but I can't see myself spending that on this particular kit. I feel buying a quality kit that has that buttery soft canvas along with a beautiful tray from a maker, custom made pen and scented putty would still run me cheaper than this. Maybe if the tweezers and trays at least looked a little less cheap I can give it a nod. 😔😮😢
The price point is definitely high. In my opinion, they cheaped out in a couple places, which would have made this a definite yes. The cheap pens are a hard no...they should have included at least one acrylic pen and the fact they didn't put the legend on the jars (or at least a sticker version) was a disappointment. If they are going to go to the length they did to justify the price, they should have went the extra steps. It was exciting seeing the gold box and having it all kit up, but for that price, it needed a little more. Thank you so much for sharing!
Wow! Thank you for sharing the contents of this kit. I’m so curious about the quality and the ease of application of the mini drills. It certainly is a giftable presentation, but it would be huge on my table. I’m so on the fence… I do love it when companies continue to innovate for our craft. It’s going to be a stunning project!
I have been eyeing The Kiss by Diamond Dotz ever since I saw an Instagram creator do it last year. I thought it was beautiful, but didn't like that the faces were not drills. I LOVE this and took the plunge and ordered it. Merry Christmas to me. I am a sucker for special drills and this painting is loaded with them! I did sign up for a membership and got a discount code to make it cheaper. Thanks for showing this.
I love it and I think getting a large canvas, in what looks to be a reusable box (reusable within reason), with a container set already kitted out, is worth the price point. On top of that, they have the micro drills, which are new and impressive. I had to immediately check out their website to see what they had and they are offering some magnificent horses; it would be hard to choose. Having said that, I don't think I could afford it as I am on a limited budget. It is a luxury item, but they really deliver! Thank you for sharing 🌼.
I love the presentation of this. The box is elegant. I really like the idea of the mini drills to fill in the faces. I don't care for partial with the faces printed only. Thanks for going the extra mile and getting this. The price is above what I can afford. If it is something spectacular that someone loves, I can see making the purchase.
For me , I think it is worth it. I love the packaging, and all the special drills. And the smaller drills is like stitching 1 over 1 on faces such as what you were referring to on cross stitch. I am really excited that you did this for us. Maybe I see one in my future 😂❤
I purchased Seretse from Diamond Dotz! I was blown away when it arrived. Kitted up. Fantastic canvas. It was pricey, I won’t lie….but I cant wait to work on it.
Waw! ❤ this kit is amazing worth the price, DD paintings come out stunning i love their paintings, now i want this kit is amazing specially the case ❤, enjoy you kit have a blessed day
I have heard about DD doing this from some other creator so thank you for buying this and sharing it. I like DD as long it's full drill. It looks really nice.
I think it’s packaged very nicely and ready to go! Love all the fancy drills too! Yeah, I’d buy it! Treat yourself!!! I’d love to see this when it’s done!
I might consider if it was my absolute favorite painting ever and had all the special and micro drills. But it would be a save and plan for and a one time purchase. I do wonder how difficult the micro drills will be to work with. Thanks for sharing.
I loved it I’m so glad it’s full drill and not printed skin tone… I like the idea of the mini drills and special drills the kit up is so cool.. however I don’t think I would ever spend that kind of money on a kit… just my personal view on it… so glad u shared with us thank u so much for a great video
I looked and was ready to order if I had seen a painting I wanted to do i would have jumped right on it. The price point with the kit up and special drills is worth it!
To get rid of the static use a fabric softener sheet just cut it as wide as the cup and shake it inside of the cup. Put the rest of the sheet in a zip-lock bag for use on other drills. Just fold it real small to fit in one of the bags that came with a kit. The sheet has to be new not used.
I can't wait to see the completed canvas. I thought I was finished buying until the first of the year, but this is tempting. I love the artwork and all of the special drills. Also, if you purchase enhancements for a kit, it starts getting expensive. Plus, having it kitted up for you is helpful. Try having a humidifier in the room when you open up the containers.
Hello hello - the packaging is very nice... made me think of opening a brand new makeup kit. Really like the idea of different sized drills for the sections. This is going to be gorgeous... I'll be definitely sitting along side you as you bring this one to life. Enjoy!
I enjoyed your excitement of the unboxing! I would consider this as a great gift to someone who has an extended hospital stay or for a craft to take on vacation. I loved how everything is in all one place and all kitted up. As a pereson who has shaky hands, it would be worth it for that task to be already done. I also do my diamond painting in a craft room so it would be good for storaage too. Thank you!!!
At first it seems like that’s a lot of money but then I was thinking about how much I’ve spent on enhancement drill sets for other regular canvases and it really adds up quick. Plus no kit up hassle? I would give it a try. I like that painting, but like you do not care for the partial drill aspect of the other version so I’ve never got it.
Wow, what an amazing kit! I really love that it's already kitted up and that it has all of the fancy drills. I've never even heard of mini drills. It's way out of my price range but I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.
I love this painting and the kit looks so luxurious! Wish I could afford it! I’ve just purchased 2 kits on DAC, 1 large and 1 more medium-ish that I’m so excited for. I hope you have fun doing this kit! It’s so nice that it’s all kitted up for you and you can start right away! I say this about all kits but I wish they came with paddy wax and putty. I feel bad for people trying to use that sad red or blue wax that comes with the kits lol. And for the price it should come with the good stuff in my opinion!
I've never heard of paddy wax or putty. That sounds so much better then that horrid pink wax that comes with EVERYTHING LOL. How or where can I find that?
When most kits are almost $70 and shipping is $10. And this is boxed and has special things. I think its a nice treat to yourself or loved one. For a special occasion. I would bye it.
I haven’t worked with any Diamond Dotz kits yet. Do they provide a paper symbol key or sticker legend to be able to label the jars with the symbols, or do you have to go by the legend on the canvas? Very interesting concept. This particular piece is definitely one specifically that is benefited by the idea of the mini dots in the face/skin tones where details are lost in larger drills, and there are a LOT of special drills!
I'm also wondering about the sticker legend and mini diamonds for the face, I wonder if they provide a smaller tip for application? I've been a strict DAC only girlie, but this one really interests me, Klimt's The Kiss is a top fave panting of mine :)
No they didn’t unfortunately! I did make a copy of the legend on the canvas but I’m definitely going to give them the feedback that they need sticker sheets or even just a paper legend
@@EmeraldsandFairyLights oof yeah, one of the reasons I love DAC cuz those little stickers are fantastic and make it so much easier then trying to label yourself. They could provide a PDF online so people can print out the legends, if they aren’t gonna include them in the kit.
Wow. I'm not a DD fan, but that kit looks very cool. $179 is expensive, but makes sense if I were to buy all of the extra bling separate. I've been eyeing this picture in general as I am obsessed after seeing the movie The Lady in Gold. I was going to do a cross stitch conversion since I have the pattern, but may need to go for this.
I got one as well! My box arrived damaged though, with micro drills everywhere. They gave me a 50% refund. For me, these are far cheaper than DAC or Dreamer - Canadians pay a lot :(
Interesting... I looked on their site... price was $199. No where could I find that it was in US or CAD.... so I'm assuming it was US dollars. The most I've paid in CAD with DAC was $100. Your 50% refund might have made it worthwhile.
Oh no! A 50% refund is ridiculous. The kit is unusable if the drills fell out. They should have sent a new kit. So sorry. I just ordered one. I hope this doesn't happen or I will be very upset.
@mycreativeheart4159 it is 199 US dollars if you are not a member. Took me 2 seconds to become a member which took it to 179. Then, as a first time customer, they sent me a 15% code. Brought it to 152.
This is STUNNING and MOST definitely worth it! This IS and will be a piece of art when done! That is the ONLY Klimt i have ever loved. I have done it in a full size cross stitch and it went to my ex's mother! NOW THAT WAS THE BIGGEST mistake EVER! lol. I LOVED this.....cannot wait to see it when it is started. Merry Christmas Richard
Stick a cotton tip in alcohol and twirl in the jar. Not super saturated (a little goes a long way) and for long term use a small ball of tin foil and it will restating long term
For someone who likes special drills I think it would be worth it. If anything this is perfect for that. I feel the same way about differently, shaped or special drills, the same way, I feel about partials my preference is for all of the painting to be filled in with the round drills, but I do very much like the innovation of the smaller drills for the face.
Wow, Thank you for sharing this new kit, Lindsay. If there was a Diamond Painting that I really loved I would purchase it, if it had all of the amazing, Drills with the small & large sizes, and all of the fancier styles of gems, and kitted up, with that beautiful carrying box, definitely, Yes.❤
Yeah, not too sure about this, maybe if I haven't already invested in all the storage containers from artdot. Hubby is already questioning my sanity with my new collection of accessories from all the small shops. (How many trays/pens do you need?) Well, it's a different season, different event, different accessories for the occasion. Hahaha He just shakes his head and walks away. 😂
It is beautiful and I hope you don’t wait for an event to do it as I want to see it done yesterday 😂 THE PRICE TAG - did they not include stickers of the symbols?! I think stickers would be the best addition. Would I splurge on myself? Yes - if all the bills are paid and I have a surplus. The mini dotz fascinate me. Thanks for taking the plunge and sharing. Diamond Dotz is the first company I bought from, albeit they do a lot of partials, their quality is top notch!
Katie’s kit had the old polyester canvas which I hate. Does the box say it’s a different canvas? Because on Katie’s box it said polyester. I wouldn’t buy it if they didn’t upgrade the canvas.
I dont like different drill shapes. i love the idea of smaller drills to get more detail but I dont like bigger different shaped pieces in my diamond paintings. To me it cheapens the look of it. And I definitely would not pay over $100 for a kit. After you are done with the project, what is the point of the box, the fancy pens, the plastic circle containers? They either go into someones huge junk closet or room, or they get thrown away. Also, the fact that they use a different color palet makes it LESS appealing for me because I cannot use their diamonds for other projects. I find that sometimes I have had to dip into past projects to get more diamonds so that definitely is a turn off. So this would be a hard pass for me. But thanks for the video. I enjoyed watching it, glad it was your dime and not mine, LOL.
Love it! Please show us as it progresses. Yes I would buy this. The multi drills on it are exciting! I was thinking around 85.00 or a little higher, but not over a hundred. If I was planning to frame it and use it as art in my home I would buy the package. I have always admired the painting and have had a print in my bedroom since I got married. I would love to create this piece for sure. :)
I think it wwould be worth it if it was a diamond art club that I know that I love there drills and canvas. I have not been a fan of diamond dots art that they brought out but I love the idea that its already put together and you can just go, because kitting up still takes me hours.
Ha so I found this video again , I need to tell you I have been back and fourth on dimond painting and now I've learned how to make quilts and I had panel gifted to me of this exact art and I immediately thought of you when I watch this video
First, I had to get the BBB involved after I ordered from Diamond Dotz. While I love this piece and I want one really, really bad, I won't order unless I get it from a reputable business. The Kiss is my number one piece of art. I have a quilted piece I have created hanging on my wall. This company, or their reps who sell for them, are sketchy. Be aware.
I would totally pay that for all the special drills and kitting up. I went to their site and browsed, but none of the images were calling to me. I hope they add more. I can't wait to see it in progress with those mini-drills!
Interesting. This is my favorite piece of art but Ive already done it. I dont know if Id find the value in this espcially since I use Elizabeth Ward containers.
I think that is absolutely freaking amazing! To have everything come the way it did is wondrous. I love the way everything is kitted up. And even the way the canvas is in that special bag. I absolutely love the box. If you had to add up the price of the canvas, all the special drills, and the storage container for your drills, it would probably cost the same as what you spent on that one. I would definitely buy it. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.❤😊❤
When you have a canvas that is wrinkled or holding onto its roll, if you lift the plastic overlay and lay it back onto the canvas it flattens the canvas. Often they distort because of the plastic layer and trapped air
Wow it is Beautiful ! I can’t imagine how long it will take to do it. I have smaller ones and I have not started yet as I am so nervous about doing them. I just subscribed to you so I can’t wait to see how your project looks when it is done.
It's gorgeous. With prices today (i.e. $10- $15 for a combo meal at McDonald's) $175 isn't too much to pay, especially given the amount of detail, the special drills, AND the fact that all the drills are already separated, packaged, and labeled! FYI, I signed up to get it for $175 and actually got it for $152 because I signed up for mobile alerts and received an additional 15% off!
Thank you for the review. I have checked their website and there is nothing that grabs me particularly since some of the kits are partials. It is expensive but you are also buying a system which you could kit up for other projects in the future. That is what would get me to purchase if they had a kit I wanted.
I love the packaging. I would for sure love the special drills and mini dots. I have not seen this but would try to purchase it. Maybe if I save I can see this in my next purchase.
I like DD rounds a lot, and I've been happy with some of the DD kits I've done, but I wish they would sell these without the whole kit-up service. Maybe they thought the mini-dots necessitated it-I don't know-but the price point is too high. It's all around a little too much. I have a feeling that they won't move enough of these, so I hope that, if there's a next time (and I hope there is), the new releases might have some standard-packed options-maybe. That said, I don't doubt that the finish on these will look amazing, and I look forward to seeing this one done! I do love the mini-dots innovation; I was thinking for a long time that they should have these because of cross-stitch.
I wonder if they will sell them at some point without the whole kit up service. I do think the little mini dots seem like they would be a nightmare in bags so I do wonder too If that is what facilitated this release.
This is the like what I’ve wanted to get. Klimt is amazing. I wanted to get The Woman in Gold. Just really expensive and who knows how it would look in this medium. I hope you show this when it’s finished.
Honestly, the premium kit is lovely to look at but I would not purchase one this expensive. I love kitting up so it takes that experience away from me and I have to say that no bottle labels is a big miss. I can see it will be fun for you to work on and you love the image so have a blast with it.
I got the email also. I went and looked but I guess I looked at price and left. I didn't see all that was included. After seeing everything now I still couldn't still pay for it. Plus the other ones were lots of partials.
It's going to look gorgeous when you're done. The drill containers you can use over and over again but placed too far apart for easy quick access I think.. I only saw one standard tray though. It's going to be fun for you and to watch you get through this process
I’ve never done DD, but with all the added special drills and already kitted up I think the price is a little high but worth it. If I saw a painting that I absolutely loved I would go for it….very very occasional purchase. That being said…now I will have to go check out their site 😊
I watched another youtuber that has the best technique (if you want to call it that) to making the canvas to lay flat. She simply lifted the protective cover halfway and laid it back down, then did it again on the other side, and it actually worked. Of course, after laying it down, she smoothed it down with her hand to make it sevure again.
Yes that works really good, I typically will do this off screen but I like to pull up the corners and flatten it first instead of half way pulling it off.
Wow! It looks amazing! I am brand new to your channel. Glad you talked about the static drills. It is crazy! I have them stuck to my hands constantly. Lol
The small drills for detail are cool, but I feel like they're charging at least an extra $100 for it being kitted up and all the extra packaging. I'd rather buy it with the traditional packaging. All I would need is a pen for the smaller drills.
I love it! I have been wanting this image as well and also hesitated due to it being a partial, even though the partial peacock from DD turned out great and is one of the most liked finishes when people see it at my house. DD does a great job of blending special drills so I’m sure the minis will blend with great effect. While expensive it’s an excellent splurge and the way it’s packaged would be great for travel. If it’s still available after Christmas I think I’m going to have to go for it! Thanks so much for sharing!
I’m on the fence. I like the kitting up process, plus I like kitting up into my trays. So, it would have to be a painting that I really really liked for me to spend that much on a kit.
I live in Australia and if I buy from DAC or Dreamer designs the average large size canvases are $150 😬 postage is $30 to Aus! The cheaper one I bought from DAC was $108
I would love to hear how it goes actually working on it! I have noticed that the glue on DD is hit or miss. If the glue is good quality, I might have to try one! The horse is so cool.
I think it's a fun idea, but I don't see myself buying one. They're just too pricey, and I don't care for the way you're kind of forced to pour drills, then put them back, then pour again. I keep all my drills in trays, ready to go.
Ugh, I wish I could agree but I can't see myself spending that on this particular kit. I feel buying a quality kit that has that buttery soft canvas along with a beautiful tray from a maker, custom made pen and scented putty would still run me cheaper than this. Oh wow! That is one premium kit! I bet those mini drills are super tedious to work with (worth it for the finished look)
Just to have all the drills in the round containers and not in bags needing to be transferred....yeah. worth it LOL!
I love how nice arranged it all is. And it all comes in storage containers and a place to put them in a reusable box. And omg so many dotz and colors
If they had the right painting for me with all the specialty drills I would definitely purchase a kit from them. Thanks for showing this!!

Wow it’s beautiful! I just watched an unboxing of a Louis Vuitton diamond painting! Can’t wait to see you work on it. ❤❤❤
So I went to the website. Herold of Spring is gorgeous but sooooo expensive. WOW. I will have to see what other awesome videos you have. 🙂
Wow that's a very good idea to use two sized drills. Thanks for showing it to us ❤😊
I did a different Klimt dp it was a big project cost me eighty bucks from diamond art club. It’s gorgeous.
I love the Herald of Spring - pricing but it’s a nice experience not to have to kit up if you don’t want to. Might have to try ❤
Ha so I found this video again , I need to tell you I have been back and fourth on dimond painting and now I've learned how to make quilts and I had panel gifted to me of this exact art and I immediately thought of you when I watch this video
Haha 😂
Thanks so much for sharing this with us.❤😊❤
I agree! It’s great! I wish all my paintings came kitted up 🤣
A lot would depend on how the woman’s face turned out with the mini drills. I’d be curious to see this kit completed
Thank you for unboxing this kit! I was dying to see what it was so pricey
My favorite painting! I am about to jump into my first diamond painting. I think I’ll wait a bit before I dive into this one. 😂
This is the like what I’ve wanted to get. Klimt is amazing. I wanted to get The Woman in Gold. Just really expensive and who knows how it would look in this medium. I hope you show this when it’s finished.
I purchased The Kiss kit by Diamond Dotz not completed yet but I think it is worth it. Love It!!
It's £53 on Amazon here which is in line with Diamond Art Club but you get more tools and it kitted up etc so I think it's good value
That is the original Diamond Dotz The Kiss painting. This is a different, more updated, version.
@deekay6526 It still has the sorted drills etc..looks the same but I haven't studied in great detail
Lol
Thank you for the unboxing. I wonder if DAC will try something like this.
The small drills for detail are cool, but I feel like they're charging at least an extra $100 for it being kitted up and all the extra packaging. I'd rather buy it with the traditional packaging. All I would need is a pen for the smaller drills.
Definitely worth the money.
It looks beautiful. I would like to see how it looks when it’s finished
@@gewurztramina post review is filmed and will be up soon!
It’s going to look gorgeous 😍😍
Wow! Would love to see this one finished! 💎
I have the old one and framed. It is gorgeous even though the face isn't dotted.
I’m working on it! Probably won’t have a finish till next year but keep your eye on the channel it will pop up in wip n chats!
I have to say you are brave for spending that much money. I get where you are coming from but I still couldn’t do it.
I live in Australia and if I buy from DAC or Dreamer designs the average large size canvases are $150 😬 postage is $30 to Aus! The cheaper one I bought from DAC was $108
It does look like a luxury experience. Very impressive.❤
Kitting up is the most fun 😂😂😂 they aren’t gonna take away my fun for me
🤣 I hate kitting up, so for me it’s awesome!
I’m intrigued. I’ll be waiting to see how this works out.
I've done many DD kits, small and large. Love the idea of the kit fit out package, but not the picture for me. I'd get bored too easy.
Yeah…that is steep. But if I wanted it bad enough I think I would make a way. Personally, I would love to paint this project.
I adored the black horse, herald of spring I believe is was called? This is awesome and cool about the smaller drills .
I would love to hear how it goes actually working on it! I have noticed that the glue on DD is hit or miss. If the glue is good quality, I might have to try one! The horse is so cool.
I’ve had hit and miss with glue on Diamond Dotz too! I’m working on it now and so far it’s great 👍🏻
I think it's a fun idea, but I don't see myself buying one. They're just too pricey, and I don't care for the way you're kind of forced to pour drills, then put them back, then pour again. I keep all my drills in trays, ready to go.
That is going to be beautiful.
This looks beautiful. I was surprised when looking at the website that most of the canvases were only partially covered. That was disappointing.
