    I agree my plants seem to grow better in the original clumps instead of separating them now it makes sense thank you FF

    Wow this is so interesting, I didn't know about this. That explains why my amazon sword only tank is thriving.
    I have another tank with several plants and my ambulias haven't grown much since I got them, maybe a cm in total, I suspect is allelopathy.
    Father fish, I don't know if you'll read this but, what career did you study? i would love to be a biologist but my parents are skeptical about it

    Fun fact.
    If you grow plants that come from the same plant from like seeds, budding, or cuttings close together they tend to share some of the nutrients instead of just competing with each other for it.

    Love your videos. What are your thoughts on hanging plants into the water with their roots growing out of soil, like a bottle plant. I have a twine net above my tank with various plants such as pothos, spider plants etc tied above the water with their roots hanging in the tank. They seem happy but I was just wondering your opinion? I have some in the sand as well

      I have pothos plant, monstera Adansonii, sweet potato vines, and syngoniums on a 20 gallon tank, also floating plants. Since they feed so much from the water column, I use amazon swords that are root feeders

    Hi i was wondering on how many plants i should add to my 120 litre fresh water fish tank? im planning on starting my first tank and im confused on how many plants i should go for as a beginner, i dont want to go all out because i don't feel like i can jump right into having a full natural tank i want to take it step by step and learn as much as i can. Is there also certain plants that would be best for a beginner?

    • @FatherFish
      @FatherFish  13 днів тому

      stem plants are easy. Fill the tank at least 1/2 with plants.

    How do I clean a used aquarium? I get not to use detergent, but what do I actually use?

    • @quki3
      @quki3 Рік тому

      Depends on how dirty and what is making it dirty- hard water use white vinegar and water 50/50 let sit a day - the use a magic eraser and razor blade to cardilly remove hard water stains on glass only. You can also use bleach and water to kill pathogens - look up % on UA-cam but this will mean you will have to wash with tap water until you no longer smell bleach and instill air dry at least a day to make sure bleach is no longer. Usually aquariums only need water rinse if new - ❤

      Salt
      Make sure to rinse tank very well. Especially in the edges and corners. Be sure to use a fresh sponge/scrubbie.
